Charlotte is a major city and commercial hub in North Carolina. Its modern city center (Uptown) is home to the Levine Museum of the New South, which explores post-Civil War history in the South, and hands-on science displays at Discovery Place. I am amazed that I sat through the whole video. I use to live in Charlotte and it wasn't a bad place. I still noticed how quickly things drop off outside of Uptown. Beautiful city.

South End (right outside of Uptown) is the hottest spot in Charlotte right now. Tons of companies/developers are building high-rise office space and apartments there. Lowe's is even moving their HQ there and building a 23 story tower. It's not only Uptown that's hot these days.

So true. Some parts had old small plants there and were "brown land". Now they are apartments or retail....

But Charlotte needs to have they freeways lit up at night driving down I-77 and it's no lights out there Charlotte it's too big of a city not to have light on their freeways

Eric Williams the state pays more attention to Raleigh’s highways

This is so true. Raleigh has better roads overall. Charlotte makes the money for Raleigh to sit pretty. Being the Capital it gets attention to details. At least we will have one of the best Airports soon :)

Charlotte may exceed more then 1,000,000 people who are living there. They have 5 interstate highways that serve Charlotte and they are: I-77, I-85, I-277, I-485, and Spur I-74 and later change to future I-28, which connect from Charlotte to Wilmington in North Carolina for more then 200 miles in length, since I-74 will never going to connect between Cincinnati Ohio and North Carolina.

Well I can definitely tell you they definitely need to expand I-77 right through the city that freeway should at least have five Lanes in both directions and they also need to the freeway lights on I don't understand the major freeway running through a major city don't have a freeway lights eventually on I-485 if they start building around that Loop they definitely going to have to build freeway lights out there as well and is US 74 which is Independence Boulevard is they going to convert that to a freeway

Hope they install LED street lights in Charlotte and by the year 2020, it should be 100% completed.

Sunday. It's so much easier to just drive around on Sunday to do a video. Sitting in traffic is no fun lol. I plan to do another video on foot next time. So then there can be a lot of traffic but won't get stuck in it .

despite of nice tall buildings, the streets are still kinda sleepy (so is the music). a metro of 3.5M will change that. imo, will take another 2 decades for charlotte to become a true city.

Lung Linh I live in Charlotte. I see these roads every day. And trust me with around 30,000 people living downtown and over 100,000 working uptown the traffic is horrific. There is no way he would have been able to do this video when the streets are that busy. He probably did it on a Sunday morning. That’s the only time the streets would look like this. The metro area is 2.5 million and the city population is close to 1 million with a population growth of near 60% in the last 10 years. I promise it won’t take another 2 decades to reach those numbers

Beautiful city, but an extremely empty downtown (uptown). What day of the week is this?
One thing I like about Chicago's downtown is that it's not as busy and cluttered as New York City, but it's also not this empty either - even on its slowest days (the weekend), and that's what makes it exciting - busy, but you can still move around and have elbow room.
In another comment, someone mentioned that it will take a few more years to build the population of Charlotte. Well, hopefully, companies will stop giving people such a hard time trying to find jobs to relocate. That was my issue and so many others on a discussion board four years ago! And now here it is, 2019, and the streets are still empty in a major area of any city, which is downtown. You build a big beautiful city and infrastructure, not just for the pretty pictures online. An empty downtown feels like you missed a big event and didn't get the news. There is much to like about Charlotte though! It's definitely beautiful and clean.

Lovely Amour Idk if you’ve ever been uptown outside of Sunday but there is absolutely no way he could have done this video in normal traffic. The traffic is unreal. It would take way to long to do this video. Trust me. There’s nothing empty about these streets. Even on Saturdays I know. I drive them every day. The population is around 900,000 in the city. 2.5 million in the metro. It is now the 5th fastest growing city in the country and the 16th largest. And still growing. Not to shabby if you ask me

@@eaglei0n Actually, I don't recall if I was uptown on a Sunday. I've only been to Charlotte once. It's a beautiful city! I'm just not sure if I was there on a Sunday. I'm pretty sure was only a Saturday and other weekdays. Thanks!
