I used to listen to this back in the day. Just started listening to oliver tree recently and it's blowing my mind that this is the same dude. He's like, pulling a reverse Joji.
A lot of scenes in this video can be seen being used in more recent music videos I think it's because Oliver directs all of his vids so he's probably just using his favourite shots
When he goes down the tree of the tree house it's the same basic idea of the way he goes down the ladder in "Let Me Down" the way they edit them going down
I feel like the rabbit hole at the end of the video signifies the end of a chapter in Oliver’s life, before he went on to create different music and overall become a new person in general. Great music, great video, thanks for this.
I don't understand what this video means or what "stuck down the wrong rabbit hole"means and keep in mind I am only fourteen so I am barely experiencing the world
@@somefuckingretard8289 in an old interview, Oliver himself states that this song is about when him and his friend would let his dog loose in the neighborhood and they would chase the dog through different backyards, but I personally think this has a bigger meaning like what 20251218 says
honestly, it seems to me that the whole song may represent the struggle to get over someone that you have loved and lost. The rest of "splitting branches" focuses on the separation of Oliver from a romantic interest and how his outlook changes as a result. Plus his destitute attitude and surroundings at the beginning of the video followed by a manic dive directly into a plane entirely composed of metaphor strikes me as very similar to emotional episodes of grief, realization, and mania that I've had relating to romantic losses. For me, and I think Oliver, the rabbit represents the image of the person in our mind and the hole is the depth of infatuation we've experienced over them and the grief we've suffered over losing them. We know we have to escape this hole but the rabbit makes it hard because it constantly looms where ever we look and just the sight of it immediately caves the ground out from under us. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
