    I remember watching this eulogy on TV and thinking, what an odd young man. He looked and sounded so strange and rehearsed. I know people think he's so dreamy and endearing, but he always gave a bit of the creeps and still does. There's something hollow about him.

      I remember watching this and thinking he is paving his own way to a future follow through pathway. I was right then and I am still damned correct. All the red flags immediately arose. Unfortunately, time has been the bearer of the truth of my initial forebearings. There he is as I worried he might be, the second most diabolical thing inflicted on this Canada since his commie (take your pick PET or Castro) father came on the scene. I cannot believe that any one with any grey matter does not see through this abomination.

    He is so contrived, affecting emotion rather than feeling them. A true performance that illustrates how he operates. At a time when one might think he would be deeply upset at the loss of a father who seems to be a monumental figure to JT, instead he has the distance to relate chirpy childrens morality tales for his audience and future voters. It's more like a mawkish, manipulation than honest eulogy.
    It's truly embarrassing to watch his lack of any self awareness and absolute belief in himself as a great orator. Hell be auditioning for the part of Mark Antony next in Shakespeares Julius Caesar!

    Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. If you bothered to pay attention to his entire eulogy you can plainly see JT was holding back his grief for the sake of trying to express to people how much he loved his father. At the end of his speech he broke down in tears. It was a great eulogy. Respectful and with a great Canadian message which many of us are forgetting as we descend into darkness as a country.

      +Tudval Stone Everyone grieves in very different ways. At my dads funeral I was so much in denial. While everyone else in the family was crying uncontrollably, others would come to me and say "take care of them, you are so strong". What they didn't realize is that 15 years later, I still can't type this without tearing and I still can't move forward unless I keep denying the reality.

I had to get everything taken care of before I could grieve. A few months later, I couldn't get out of bed and all I did was weep every day for two years. Justin loved his father very much. This guy is a theatrically trained narcissistic self-deluded psycho who was excited to put on a performance. The script is overtly worded to infer nefarious undertones. What I don't get ..... if actors/actresses have the job of convincing their audience of their sincerity, his sole focus is simply to put on the best show he could for as long as he could drag it out.....from coast......................to coast...............to cooooooaaaaaassssssstttttt. If you listen to his French bits, the translator has more sincerity and speaks like he is at least doing HIS job. The way he drawls it all out, pregnant pauses, sly eye movements, staged emphasis on certain phrases...tells me he relishes the opportunity to put his drama training to good use. It also tells me he rehearsed all of this over and over while watching himself ..... and practiced slowing things down. Why does he then need cheat cards?? Every damn time. You ARE right .... he is a sociopath ..... even back then.

      Right?? Who's falling for this performance? People need to study sociopathic traits and wise up. He's still exactly the same now. Every time he says anything in parliament, his cadence is all off and he trips over his words because he's too concerned with playing the role of 'sincere man with heavy responsibilities that he takes deeply seriously'.     Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;

      +Steven Haffner Great post Steven. Pierre was good and totally knew the direction on how he wanted to take the country, and knew how to do it, but he was also disconnected from every day people sometimes. His son couldn't be more opposite. Justin won because he totally understood the pulse of the people because he spent three years talking to 10's of thousands, which totally formulated his policy. I met him in Belleville Ontario, and there were only 6 of us, and nobody around us seemed to care that it was him. It's crazy how many questions he asked, and how much he listened. We told him what people wanted in this area, strong work on the environment, better building of schools, fairer taxes. Guess what. Justin won the three seats in the region that were supposed to go to the Conservatives. Just an incredible leader. I think he might end up being a much better PM than his Dad.

      +11matt11 Thanks Matt. After further snooping around You Tube, I came across the debates between Trudeau, Harper and Mulcair, and I listened to all three of them (the candidates) despite already knowing Trudeau won. I am not surprised that you mentioned that he asked a lot of questions. I noticed a couple of times he mentioned speaking to individuals, and genuinely caring about their concerns. And from listening to him, I was definitely able to get a sense of what he stands for and what he wants to do. Job growth and the economy, helping the middle class, infrastructure, strengthening the relationship with the USA, improving Canada's position on the world stage, and understanding that every group in Canada is an important voice and should be heard, etc. I really liked the fact that he seems to get that he can't please all of the people all of the time, but understands that everyone--Liberal, Conservative, Green, BQ, and so on--is along for the ride, and he grasps and appreciates Canada's uniqueness. I really hope Trudeau sticks to his convictions, does what's right, and is able to accomplish a lot of things as Prime Minister. I'm rooting for him.

      +Steven Haffner Ya, everybody who underestimates Trudeau, ends up losing to him badly. He loves a challenge and to win out. When he was first ran for member of parliament, he could have chosen many ridings that were easy, as the Liberals wanted him in the House of Commons. He instead chose Papineau, a riding that had become separatist, and a lot were shocked. Many, especially the separatist Parti Quebecois expected him to lose on election night, because he running against a very popular member or parliament. Trudeau won, to the surprise of many, but by only 4% of the vote. A separatist Quebec news crew decided to investigate how Trudeau won the riding, and when they went around and asked voters of the riding, every person they asked said they had met Trudeau personally. They couldn't find one person who hadn't, even those who voted against him. A later survey had said that 90% of the people had met him in the riding. He could have ridden on the coat tails of his name, but he didn't. As everyone who knows him will tell you, the one thing he gets from his Dad is that he's an incredibly disciplined hard worker with a ton of energy. And he's the son of Pierre, so you know he's pretty smart. His mother comes from an incredibly intelligent family herself. So many people underestimate him, at their own peril. As we saw that in this election.

      @@melodymac1 It is a line from Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" Act 3 scene 2 in which Marc Antony is giving an eulogy to Julius Caesar.
      "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
      I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
      The evil that men do lives after them;
      The good is oft interred with their bones;
      So let it be with Caesar. The noble Brutus
      Hath told you Caesar was ambitious:
      If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
      And grievously hath Caesar answer’d it.
      Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest-
      For Brutus is an honourable man;
      So are they all, all honourable men-
      Come I to speak in Caesar’s funeral.
      He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
      But Brutus says he was ambitious;
      And Brutus is an honourable man.
      He hath brought many captives home to Rome
      Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill:
      Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?
      When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept:
      Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
      Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
      And Brutus is an honourable man.
      You all did see that on the Lupercal
      I thrice presented him a kingly crown,
      Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
      Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
      And, sure, he is an honourable man.
      I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke,
      But here I am to speak what I do know.
      You all did love him once, not without cause:
      What cause withholds you then, to mourn for him?
      O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
      And men have lost their reason. Bear with me;
      My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar,
      And I must pause till it come back to me.

    A son giving a eulogy at his father's funeral and people are on here criticizing him? Seriously? What is wrong with you people? To call him a narcissistic when one of the main traits of a narcissist is a complete lack of empathy, which you're all clearly showing. The next trait is projection, which you're also showing. I would say you should be ashamed of yourselves but I doubt any of you capable of feeling that, either. It is a beautiful heart felt speech given by a son for his father. It's a damned shame you don't have the emotional capability, or the base line humanity, to understand that. It's a funeral, show a little respect.
