Thank you for this video. I am a "newbie" and LOVE the Lyi!! They are so cute and little. I just ordered..........I hope that it lives and aren't too hard!!
Thank you for this video 👍🏼 I love small-leaved hairy hoyas and I also bought a Lyi LT 08-012. As far as I know, they like it cool, moist and partially shaded.
Thanks Fonnie, I love this serie 💚. I have the lyi (China) from hoya passion as well and i can confirm that it's not a fast grower. However, as someone pointed it below, it's a cooler grower. Since i put it in a shaded and less hot spot in my milsbo, it grew a lot of leaves and peduncle so yay. I saw a litlle peduncle on yours as well 😊. Now i'm patiently waiting for the lyi prism prices to drop before buying it.
I have a hoya lyi that I believe came from Plant Haven Toronto in Canada. I is slow growing; mostly non veined; shinny; with small oval leaves. It is dissimiliar to any of those you showed. I am looking forward to Spring to see more growth. It does have its first new baby leaf. I was keeping it in my bathroom for the higher humidity and lower temperature, but recently moved it out to give it more light. I believe that is what prompted the new growth. I have also started to collect mostly small leaf hoya for space considerations and growth patterns. Unless the hoya can fit on a small trellis it is difficult for me to accomodate it. Also, the larger forms though they might have very attractive leaves, their overall appearance to me is not as pleasing.
I have a Hoya lyi from the same seller and mine has lots of those smaller leaves but recently since I upped my humidity and lowered the light I got longer nicer leaves
Some Hoyas that are supposed to be fast growers become super slow growers , I think it may be the new environment may be even less optimal than the previous , for sure they all seem to prefer s A southwest window of bright but somewhat indirect sunlight, humid and warm environment and very airy soils And ventilation
Whoever traded you that tiny barely there node cutting of the last Hoya really has no integrity. What the hell. Looked like a leaf only cutting, there was barely a node visible. I'm super surprised all went well and it grew for you. Glad it did. But I would never offer such a cutting, that's just disgraceful 🫥 Your collection is really beautiful. I do not own any Hoya Lyi. I have a Thomsonii which is currently not doing anything at all. Still hoping for some life that might be in there, though 👀 All the best to you and your adorable boy 😊
You’re always really kind and thinking in my perspective for me☺️ where are you keeping your Thomsonii? In my experience, it stopped growing in low humidity environment. Then I placed it in my zip lock bag with extra humidity. Then it grew really fast😊 Thank you, we are so grateful to have him 👨👩👦
Hello Fonnie from Puerto Rico!! I’m starting my Hoya collection and have approx. 35 now. Most are in Pon and some in aroid mix. What app or page do you use to identify them? I have one “no id”. 🪴🌿🌱

Hi! Good question! I don’t have a specific page to visit for id-img Hoyas. But I think Hoya groups on FB are a good place to start and ask 😃
