Is it better to get the harvest in when the weather permits or can you leave crop in the field when the weather doesn't permit? I'd side with getting the crop in ASAP!

Greetings Cole, Once the JD combine is set and performing as you like at the speed you are wanting to run and the harvest track is centered, the harvest track then tells you when you can speed up or slow down to keep the machine performing as you selected. below the green center you can speed up (ground speed) and if above the green then you slow down. That is a very simple explanation as to how it works.
Cole your blessed to have a grandmother, only met one of mine and passed when I was just starting school. Learn her recipe's and get the old pictures labeled with names on back. We have so many pictures and no idea how were related and to whom. LOL. May God bless your family's health, rain joy year round and the water verity when needed. Hey Cole and family. I really like your channel. It' moves at a nice pace, but what I really enjoy is all the stuff I learn about the machinery and large scale farming. Great entertainment, and better yet, super informative content. Any AG student should have this channel as recommend viewing, imo.
Just love watching you all work. You have been an educator to me about farming….. today! I live in rural Ohio and had farming relations never learned this much til seeing you all. God Blessed you all.
When you set your grain loss meter in that john deere. Take a mental record about how full your running your rotor at the time of setting it. And then when your running it afterwards. Look at how full your running your header when you notice your losses start creeping back up. A lot of times you actually need to speed up bc your not running your rotor full enough so your actually not being able to separate as efficiently. But if your wanting to run at that speed then tighten your rotor up just a notch or 2 and speed it up just a little. Also take a look at your tailings. If your running a lot of returns and your grain tank looks good. Open your bottom sieve up a little bit. If they are clean beans. as in no weeds. And they are dry. Then they should be thrashing out pretty easy. So there's no point in re thrashing them. BUUUUTTTT! I forgot those new 790s actually have their own little separate rotor that the tailings go back through. They aren't like the older 660s. 670s. 96 and 9760's and 70s and 80s. But the first suggestion should still be the same for these machines. Just my suggestion about the bottom seive bc of the separate little rotor thingy won't help at much to prevent over running the rotor. Hope that helps. Even though you'll probably be done with beans by the time you've posted this video. Just remember that the rotor is based on capacity. So you need to compensate an the amount of material your running through the combine at any given time. Less material means less amount of surface area for the material to separate itself. So if you set it for waist high beans at 3mph. And the next field is knee high beans. Then you need to speed up to 5.5mph. of tighten your concave to compensate. Of course you have to make plenty of other adjustments. This was just an idea.

Very wise move to clean the machinery while everything is still fresh, dry, not rotted and easier to remove. Keeps the corrosion down. Also don't use stop leak on the radiator! I was a radiator repairman and builder for 23 years. It's better to remove the radiator and repair it with solder or aluminum braze instead. Stop leak will eventually clog the radiator and heater core. I'd only use it in an emergency, but even then it is still difficult to flush it out of the system. What I'd do is to remove the radiator pressure cap halfway so as to keep the pressure from building in the system so as not to make it leak more just to get me by in an emergency. The pressure in the cooling system is for raising the boiling point of the coolant. If it is not running near the boiling point, you can get by fine without it being pressurized. The only problem is that in the long term any air in the coolant will cause it to oxidize and cause corrosion.

I'll be looking forward to all the data Cole's probably going to share, not that I really know what it all means as far as yields and stuff but I do know more is more better, LOL. That is if you share them Cole no pressure intended that's personal business information I just enjoy your breakdowns. Oh and Congratulation Grandma Judy on your new simply safe system I hope it brings you the peace of mind you were looking for. I know it will Cole and the rest of them with you living in town.
