- In this video, we talk about Class 3 Malocclusion. Class 3 Malocclusion is a type of malocclusion, what the patient presents to the dental clinic with prognathic mandible which means that the mandible is in front of maxilla instead of being a bit behind it. On the other hand, maxilla can either be normal or behind its normal position.
Orthodontist or a dental surgeon can appreciate various clinical features in a patient suffering from Class 3 malocclusion. Diagnosis is straightforward but treatment is not easy. Many treatment options are available in children as well as adults.

I have this. Appears from early ages. It hasn't caused me any issues. Not everyone requires treatment, and it doesn't always cause an issue. My chin isn't pronounced anywhere near others. It has caused issues when getting my new partials made, but the dentist still does an amazing job. It can cause tooth loss, jaw issues, and speaking issues. Again, this doesn't happen for everyone. Grade 3 is the rarest grade, yet it's amazing to see how many people seem to fit into this category.
Im 18, i will move to canada next month for my further studies, when i went to my dentist she told i had a class 3 bite which could be corrected by camouflage procedure which involved premolar extraction and 3rd molar extraction (not sure about 3rd molar extraction if she said so) or by a jaw surgery and then fitting some temporary screws to fix my bite and align my teeth perfectly, with braces.
The thing is the former would take way too long, also the dental prices in canada are 15x what we pay in India, even if i get my primary procedure of affixing braces and other tasks here, still a visit to dentist for other nitty gritty things such as wire adjustments would cost way too much in Canada. Moreover my parents won't let me go for a jaw surgery and I won't favour that as well.
Now, what my parents and I have concluded is that we can wait for my bachelor's to complete and then do the procedure, once i get a PR, so around 5 years later.
What i wanted to ask from you is,would delaying the same have any consequences in the long run?
Also, what if a patient does not get the procedure, done ever in their life?
Don't extract a healthy tooth

Sir, I'm 20 and i just got diagnosed with a mild case of this.
I liked at my 4 year old pictures and my teeth were completely normal.
I also have breathing issues since birth in one nostril.
One doctor has told me to remove my last molars and use braces to fix it
Other doctor had told me to avoid doing anything as it can cause further issues.
What should i do, please give guide me.
Treat with 4 TAD screws to retract the posteriors and arch expansions, cross-bites. Whether pseudo-class3 or class3 ...... you get fruitful results.

Dear Sir, there is some age limit for this syrgery as I am 42? Thanks
Does class 3 Malocclusion prevents me from joining military? The British gurkha?
I'm form a poor country and Need to join the British gurkha to support my family and build my future.
But I think class 3 malocclusion is gonna be a problem. Is it?
You will have to check their guidelines.
I have class 3 elastics on. But my upper incisors are not behind the lower ones theyre protruding actually (upper and lower incisors)
That is edge to edge incisors most likely which will be corrected by the treatment you are going under :)
Class 3 same case here plz tell me about surgery side effects
Great video
Thanks
Thank you for your feedback :)
Well explained
Thank you so much :)
Hello! I was 14 last year and had braces at the month of October and now I'm 15 nd almost 1year and 1 month is over with braces I have class 3 nd my skeleton bone of lower jaw is little frontier than upper does it can be fixed with chincap please reply????Now my teeths are perfectly set but my jawline is litter frontier!
Hi. Thank you for your message. Chincap is normally used in growing stage. However after the age of 12, growth slows down in both maxilla and mandible, therefore such functional appliances like chin cap are less effective.
Does it move the lower jaw ? My lower jaw is already a bit inside . ☹️ I don't want it to be more inside . Please reply .
The treatment plan varies from patient to patient. The goal of every orthodontic treatment is aesthetics and function.
Superb explanation sir
Thank you for your feedback :)

Plzz Ish video ko hindi me ashan bhasha me bnaye non medical logo ke liye jinko class 3 dental treatment krwana hai, mera bhai 14 saal ka hai class 3 situation hai kya krna chahiye plz video bnayen.
In simple terms, class 3 treatment requires lower teeth to be moved backwards and upper teeth moved forwards. Sometimes surgery is required to achieve this. But your brother is in growing age so non-surgical methods can be used. Please consult a orthodontist for further guidance and treatment.
@@BoundlessDentistry His Doctor Fitted A clip on upper teeth and a chunk of plastic between lower molars or premolars so that upper and lower teeth dont come in contact. And further process will be done in upcoming months they said it will be normal after 2 years they also said to break out some tooths from his mouth
Is it good going ?
I doubt on Doctor behaviour !!
The doctor is using bite block to open the bite and will extract some teeth to create space and move the upper teeth forward and lower teeth backwards. The normally what orthodontists do in class 3 treatment in growing patients.
@@BoundlessDentistry thank you sir
You’re welcome :)
Amazing

Please tell me your details and then i can guide you accordingly.
Thankyou sir
Thank you for your feedback :)
Can it be corrected by braces? Please help
No it cannot be since the changes to correct this has to be made in the maxilla or/and in the mandible.
