Tour of my Bioactive Toad Enclosure | Waterfall & Live Plants!

- North American toads are a group of amphibians that are popular pets. In this video, I'll share a tour of my bioactive toad enclosure featuring a real waterfall!
This enclosure specifically is for Persephone, my woodhouse's toad (Anaxyrus woodhousii). This style of bioactive toad setup can be scaled up for any North American toad species! I enjoyed adding the bioactive substrate, live plants, and creating the working waterfall in the paludarium. The best part, however, is watching my toad enjoy her enclosure.

What a life folks.... That toad is living it up. No predators, fresh waterfall and food. Live plants too! That has to be one happy toad.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Penelope looks like a happy cocoa bean, and I love it. The waterfall feature looks gorgeous. 😃

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed. 😁
i use to keep toads many years ago, though it was not as complex as this set up. Tis a fine set up ya got there.
Thank you!
Awe! She looks so happy and doesn't even seem camera shy! I love how her enclosure is designed to meet every one of her needs, such good pet keeping ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
She is so adorable. Love how it turned out. The waterfall is cool. She is happy camper.
GOD BLESS 🐸💖🐸💖🐸💖
P.s. yes on how you made the soil mix.
Thank you! I’m so glad you like it. 😊
You can find woodhouse’s toads here in Arizona personally I prefer spadefoot toads as pets but all toads are really cool, this is also a really well-built habitat.
She looks so happy!
Spadefoot toads are very cool as well!
👍
Persephone is adorable! Her enclosure looks great as well! I love the waterfall, and Syngoniums are one of my favorite plants to use in terrariums. I have one ( I'm not exactly sure what type ) that is in my future dart frogs enclosure and it grows so fast. I constantly take clippings of it and you can even tell. They grow roots super fast and are super hardy. I now have at least one in each of my more humid enclosures all from clippings of the original one!
That’s awesome! They’re super great plants.
New reptile enclosure rating ? 😎
I try to do them seasonally!
What is the bioactive bedding mix?
What did you use for the corner bowl for the pond?? It looks like a quarter round bowl or dish??
I cut the bottom off of an old acrylic fish tank! Check at your local thrift store… betta tanks work well for this, and you can hacksaw the top off.
Great idea!!! I’ve been looking at large corner reptile bowls. I’ll have to go thrift store scrounging!!
What was that blue thing you fed her?
Hornworm
@@HunterHouck thanks I thought it was some kind of processed treat but I see now
