I still think Melvin is the most exciting 1 round fighter ever
He doesn’t need to add submissions or grappling to he’s game just need to learn to defend against this submissions and take downs
or he should just go to kick boxing instead of mma.
He need to learn submission if he want to counter it lol.
That was my weakness as well when I played UFC 3 undisputed Anderson Silva 1 st one to whoop my ass everytime
The Dutchman spends the majority of the time in the Rocky IV/Ivan Drago mindset ("I MUST BREAK YOU!").
This being the case whether he's upright and toe to toe or in the dominant position for the ground-n-pound.
Like you stated, if you can manage to flip the script in the ground-n-pound, he's weak on defending against submissions.
The only other bad habit that Manhoef has is that he'll drop his guard for seemingly no good reason. Robbie Lawler destroyed Melvin with an overhand right hook as a result of dropping that guard which should be all the stuff that one learns about from Day 1 in fight school 101!
So basically he just needs to learn how to MMA 😂
Melvin is a warrior, even his losses were a war.
what did you say...warrior???
@@wyarisucisuci57 Can you read?
@@BlackLiberationRBG 🙏
So basically from what I see. The only way to beat him is to hurry and get him on the ground. Pray for the strength to keep him down long enough to disable endurance or defense and fight for your life
Or knock him out like half his opponents found out
You haven't seen how many KO's against professional MMA fighters??
Not much of a ground game, he gasses out too early and the biggest no-no that I see is he'll drop his guard for seemingly no good reason which was how Robbie Lawler put the Dutchman on ice along with so many others.
You can't be an MMA fighter without much of a ground game or by having a glass jaw!
@@RenKnight347 zero stamina and just brute force. You survive 2 minutes with him you win.
Hats off to the guys that step in the ring let alone beat him. Dudes like a Tasmanian devil
That was a gnarly fricken cut on his shin. Damn
He is uncomfortable in wrestling, and his opponents know his weakness is on the ground
Only if his opponent can get him into the bottom position then he seems not to have much in the way of defending against the submissions.
But when Melvin is in the more dominant position on top, it's ground-n-pound, Ivan Drago (Rocky IV) like tunnel vision: "I MUST BREAK YOU!" mindset.
Melvin's bad dancing is all you need to know about him.
This may explain why he doesn't seem to be able to fight off of rhythm.
Lmao
Manhoef doesn't know how to put his guard up when he's wildly attacking
Which is something that most are taught early in their careers no matter which martial arts discipline (including boxing) to the point that it better stick with you: YOU NEVER EVER DROP YOUR GUARD!
Matt Serra all losses pls. Sucess bro 👊
I wanted to see how he can lose because after watching his highlights you'd think he was Mike Tyson lol.
Seems like he could take a punch.
A warrior regardless
I can feel this guy, he's good and he's almost there...and always just a slight turn of events changed his fate :-(
Proof that having muscle mass, doesn't give you an advantage! It's all about being able to use it efficiently in combat!
Never seen a fighter who was dominating so many fights but loses at the end.
*lost
Man!!! I was saying the same thing. I think he’s strong and fast but unfortunately he lacks of technics
@@jeanemmanuelrenel9190 More accurately Fight IQ and strategy. He's technical alright.
what a legend.
🤣
Lowlights felt so disrespectful. With comentary its 10x better. Thank you!
Didnt forget to subscribe bro🤣🤣🤣
good stuff!
Worst ground defense in pro MMA history.
They realized his weakness is grappling....they all won on the ground
Robbie Lawler didn't win on the ground
other than the guys who brutally knocked him out... on their feet lol
Joe Schilling knocked Melvin out standing up.
he should have known, doesnt matter where it happens, kill is a kill and only one can go home...
Не все😁
This guy didn't get tired of being beaten forever?
I liked the video
The dutch just favor dutch kickboxing so much over ground that it makes them suck in mma
When the fight starts he rushes too fast, he needs to take time to find out the weakness of his opponents
True wasted energy and prone to careless is we start to fast
Idk if he's retired now but he needs to be cuz those are some vicious KO's=brain damage
Very interesting
Melvin vem para Gleice jiu-jitsu fazer esse chão seu você é um grande lutador
Im surprised he has any loses.
he doesn''t have a great chin.. when tested he drops...
Glass jaw joe
I dont think anyone can trade strikes sith this man, even now. He is lethal on the feet
High level striker could outsrikes him
He just throw wild punches without technique only power
Petr Yan if was in his size could beat him
Joe shcilling outsrikes and knockout him
@@alfikri3283 not really. He is shorter than most fighters his class and has to be very aggressive to impose his style. Once he gets close you can really see his flow, and it's a short night for anyone who gets touched by him
Manhoef is a big fighter but in the kickboxing his experience in the ground Is not enough
Фантастическая скорость и убойная техника но годы своё берут
The funny thing is that he was winning in all those fights but he always had a weak chin that was his weakness
Mantap sekali pukulan
The guy he is the athletic freak and he got heavy hand, some of the fight he so close to finish but seem the winning are not on his favor.😀
適合自由搏擊的強手
He knocked Mark Hunt out cold. Enough said.
Every good fighter got knocked out in their carrier, so what.
@@hondacrx0 Im not talking bad about Mark but I am praising Melvin for actually being able to k.o Mark with that granite/steel head of his.
@@TheZigzach Yea there's no denying that Marvin had some heavy hands, I don't think he was even 200lbs when he did it, which is insane.
@@TheZigzach Yea there's no denying that Marvin had some heavy hands, I don't he wasn even 200lbs when he did it which is insane.
Great tuff fighter to the end
Those armlocks at 3:37,4:26 and 6:04!
his weakness is over explossive with zero grabbeling
Melvin had all stand up and zero ground game lol
Semua ada masanya 👍
tak pernah menyerah.. 👍
Imagine a real live fight with this guy, yeah no breaks no times outs lol. Honestly we already know hahaha he really won 💪🏿😉💯💖
Melvin called himself Animal (chicken)😉😝😝 he is right 😂😂 although
Have only Striking power not enough in mma
Trovão Treze ⚡
Bring him down and he's helpless 😈
秋山戦は惜しかったな〜。
That sucks to be literally beating someone ass like crazy then lose to a arm bar. Poor guy
Don't hate the player hate the game
Hes tough and aggressive as anyone.....but, has no ground skills to fight guys that do!!!!
Man I think he will be great if he doesn't get taken down to the ground if he does then its over
Melvin's only claim to fame was tht he beat sakuraba .....but he really wasn't any better than Alain ngalani .....once their initial steam blows off they get trapped......
Sakuraba was waaaay past his prime aswell 38 during that fight i believe
No you muppet. Ever heard of Kato or the war agaisnt Santos? Newbie fucking casual fan
Casual
Poor robbie lawyer, the referee allowed only one punch
nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks like his game plan is quite simple: smash
Where Shlemenko?
top
Lawyer knocked him out COLD
A blind luck
Malvin have a really big punch and kick, but he have a glass chin..
Even the best loose except 25 -0.
He needs to work on his ground game he's good standing but weak on the ground and how come everyone's bigger than him it doesn't seem fair it's like a light heavyweight or middleweight trying to beat a heavyweight
eat well...
just brute force no technique, wild punches no rhythm thats why he losses on some match even if its already a miss match on strength level… its like losing on a 80-90% winning rate chance game because of stupid wild fighting style…
He does have beautiful technique but he decides to abandon it and put on a show for fans
Good dog
15 losess
He needs to change his coach
I'm very happy Melvin losses but some action
He's too aggressive and careless
How? He was looking really good..then bam done and out?
Lol i came here to see if the funny guy which i used to see in this no1 video is melvin or not and it was really him🤣i just knew melvin in that one championship , how can be looked funny i can't understand 🤣🤣
He'd be a blast in BKFC
Most fight he almost win but not MMA not for him
Folayang the 2nd haha
Number 5, he's loses very poor
Где бой с ешлименко
Were is the fight with Aleksander Shlemenko ? Melvin loose by nokaut , he is dirty fighter.
Manhoef has great energy and a good kickboxer, he just needs some groundwork tutoring 💪🏿😎👊🏿
Gökhan saki 🇹🇷 Melvin 🤕🤕
3:25 : It may not look like much, but the Japanese's take is technically magnificent.
Not as magnificent when you factor in the grappling skill gap between the two fighters my dude..
That's Yoshihiro Akiyama you casual.
Man of honour hated wrong kind track, big man wins G, but stronger.
Robby lawler is the only worthy opponent maybe it’s a wild punch but still he knocked him out while standing
his wrestling needs improvements all the fiights he lost he started off demolishing these guys
Some say that he's already about 45 years old.
Not much more left to his career.
If he was going to make any adjustments towards his defense against submissions, it would have been needed to happen at least twenty years back.
Glass jaw joe 🤷♂️
Ol mate so needs to work on he ground game...in a straight up fight the guy is a brutal killer...just stay outta the mma arena.
That's Japanese guy.
Impressive.
When technique
Wins over speed n power.
One dimesional fighters never last long, MMA is all aspects of fighting, he should be kick boxing
Its a shame we never got Wanderlei Silva vs. Melvin Manhoef
Ah man. The violence.
@@chadtep7571 bellator could have done it. Or maybe even James The Sandman Irvin vs. Melvin Manhoef
For being too violent
potentially
Sempre pensei nisso
Or Fedor would be war!!!
So basically all his losses were from a ground game lack of training and all his losses came prior to his explosion.
Well besides Robbi lawler
he has been brutally knocked out a few times lol
Too much power and very less brain
I cant understand how someone who tries to win fights didn't improved his ground game even a bit in a decade. Like he made constant efforts to keep his grappling skill "grounded".
Very Low IQ
Jacutan, good observation..
@@lopezetienne5108 , i dont think so. He's managed to win many fights with his stand up. Even in defeat he doesnt look a weakling. What about you?? Maybe some skinny guy in jeans pants who has never had a fight in his life. Imagine what your fate will be like in a octogan. You will be eaten up like a piece of candy.
@@sundayaito4366 Well octogan is full of rules , street is no rules
@@lopezetienne5108 Are you one of those that think they stand a chance on the sTrEetZ against an MMA fighter, simply because there are no rules there? MMA fighters are 10 times more effective without rules. They also can kick in the groin and poke the eyes, they can use guns and knives, these tools arent exclusive to all you ''street fighters''.
It’s amazing no deaths
One dimensional fighter, never learned how to grapple.
Brute strength can only get you so far.
Melvin looks deadly but he has no tactics 😳
He dominated almost every game
I think he was bit careless in those fight going bit too far when not necessarily needed
Ohh referee should have let him get smashed more
