Here's the acoustic guitar from Nirvana's Nevermind album. The Stella Harmony Cobain played is such a cool guitar! Oh, and I also compare some 1984 Celestion G12-T75 speakers 🤓
The intro is absolutely amazing... The difference in tone of the speakers is just crazy! Edit: I like the fact you're not having a ton of views and or followers for now, cause you propably will read this comment. You're videos have jaw-droping quality to them, and you're gonna have 500k followers in no time. Thank you for your work, thank you for your dedication, and reminding me of Nirvana and Kurt.
Dude you have to make the beginning into a full on song, I’ve had it in my head and I thought it was an actual song till I looked through my entire playlist and saw it wasn’t there, then I remembered😭
This video is like a documentary, art project, concert, personal vlog and music video all in one. Great stuff. I saw Nirvana live on the nevermind tour in Seattle back in the day. Those were the days.
wtf this video is soo good. I came for the acoustic and got the acoustic and also got a hella nice song with a fire lil music video and also learned about the speaker cabs! 100/10 Very beautiful cinematography too. And you even got the mesa boogie and the crest audio that Kurt used, damn 🔥 I just subbed
It’s been 5 months but I still rewatch this video like it’s brand new for that hella good intro. I love the drop tubing mixed with the quad reverb. It’s stunningly beautiful
The cinematography is out of this world. If I saw this in a movie, I would be screaming in the theather. Keep it going man, damn... I just bought a nice camera and I hope I can make videos of this quality one day
I am so glad I found your channel a few months back. Every time one of your videos pop into my recommended its always something new and cool, thanks for all the videos :D
I've been binge wathcing your videos for a week now. They really reignited my love for Nirvana and the sound of "In Utero" in particular for what I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. When it comes to the comparison of the speakers, I really like the sound of the first one but the second one also has its own unique character. Honestly, the combination of both would probably blow my mind away...
My mans. Your videos are interesting, well structured, informative and I'm just excited to watch them. But man.. Your intros are just something else.. Probably like most others I've noticed your channel after The Butterfly Effect video, and I rarely ever comment on anything really but I just had to say thank you for these intros. Just incredible.
First off, the quality on these videos is phenomenal! Also, I knew that most speakers differed somewhat due to how they are produced, same as guitars really, but Holy macro. Those are not even in the same realm. They might as well be different brands and style. That is really eye opening.
a year late, but i think the wide difference in speaker tone between the same model could be from what they've experienced in their life- play time, play volume, etc etc... but i dont know, going down the speaker rabbit hole makes me go crazy....
So hip - everything - and that acoustic sound, spot on. Thank you for the research :) I didn't know before which type of acoustic was used, same regarding the nylon strings. Funny that way, seems I wasn't too far off back when I started out initially, playing Polly (well, trying to) on a cheap acoustic from the 60s, including nylon strings. Now I know why people recognized the song without the vocals, stopped and commented. A familiar sound
The other day I accidentally recreated the tone of polly, I just use an Alvarez rd - 26 with nickle wound electric strings (idk if guages matter but i was using 10 - 46) and started playing polly with a quarter and it actually sounded really close, of course, nothing beats the original guitar that it was recorded on though (Key word *** CLOSE, *** I just thought it was cool so I thought I'd share haha)
Literally exactly the tone of "something In the way" and "polly". Fuckin amazing. The "vibe" u set with your "intro movies" is so awesome! U r a dood! For sure! Awesome stuff!
Great work! Sounds super close to the tone. Wonder what strings he used? Maybe he kept stock 1’s. Also what pick did he use or was it his nails. Fine details of the tone.
wow that harmony's tone is absolutely album perfect.. it has that low end come in with such a drup.. i had to make that word up because i couldnt articulate it.
this is awesome man! i loved speakers 2 and 4 the most i think, they both sounded amazing, as did the intro! i was wondering after you're done with nevermind, do you think you'll get to recreating the bleach guitar tone? that i would love to see
I liked speakers 1 and 3. Oh and that Stella i don't think Kurt ever taped over the strings he just taped the bridge and later on Ernie glued it in place for him. He also changed out the tuners to some Martin ones. Kurt used to duct tape the tuners in place also. They said he used to use pliers to tune the guitar though i don't know how that worked if they were duct taped. Maybe some of the tuners were broken
Just an idea could you hook up those speakers to a perfect clean digital amplifier? If you drive a frequency sweep through all of those speaker and measure the spectra you could compare the responses very easily (REW room equalization wizard software). I love your intros ! Gives me a special mood everytime, also brilliant visuals.
Also don't worry too much about rushing tone videos, I love your cinematics and storytelling so honestly it doesn't even have to be a tone video 😭 I'd just watch you talk for 20 minutes
Man, as an owner of a modest 6 early to mid 80s t75’s I know how wildly different they are! I know that goes for all speakers but my t75s are the biggest variance from my experience. Altho, I usually gravitate to one specific one for recordings, the cab overall sounds awesome in the room. As a blend it just seems to work and have this amazing tone that I can only get from that cab
speaker 3 has a fantastic overhead sound, it feels like it has the most depth. speaker 2 has the most nirvana-y sound, but i love the way speaker 3 cuts through.
Hey Aaron, I love your youtube channel and I find the content you bring very interesting, you did the "Recreate that tone" from Nirvana shows, I don't know if you have Boss Katana or not, but because it's "cost/ benefit" maybe most have or maybe it's more accessible to everyone, you could recreate these "tones" (only the "clean" part of the amp, because the rest is achieved with pedals like the ones kurt used) like Live At The Paramount and Live and Loud on Boss Katana and post to your channel? You would really help people A LOT to have this sound, I'm really interested in achieving these sounds, thanks for all the information passed so far. Greetings from Brasil! ❤
I have a 60's "Old Kraftsman" parlor sized acoustic that has a similar sound to the Nevermind tracks as well. Probably made in the same factory. It was also an old USA catalog guitar. It was one that my grandpa bought used at a yard sale so us kids would leave his nice guitars alone when we were visiting. After he passed away I inherited it. I took the time to dress the frets and fret ends, adjust the height of the bridge and the action at the nut, and now it plays effortlessly, but still has the same nice (bad) sound. Mine has steel string on it though, and tuned down to D standard. I can't get along with nylons.
No joke, the intros are top tier every time!! That ‘Seattle’ grunge feel is amazing
'neo-grunge' I think it's called. like grunge but even more dark, moody, heavy, and slow
The intro is absolutely amazing... The difference in tone of the speakers is just crazy!
Edit: I like the fact you're not having a ton of views and or followers for now, cause you propably will read this comment. You're videos have jaw-droping quality to them, and you're gonna have 500k followers in no time. Thank you for your work, thank you for your dedication, and reminding me of Nirvana and Kurt.
yeah, your tone isnt really all in the guitar, its mostly in the cab, amp and skpeaker
oh and also mic.
Dude you have to make the beginning into a full on song, I’ve had it in my head and I thought it was an actual song till I looked through my entire playlist and saw it wasn’t there, then I remembered😭
i wish i was a full song
same chords as in WASTE by kxllswxtch
You’re kidding right?
@@ThemMightyPieswhy would he be
when he played something in the way, i got chills... Never heard anything more accurate then that!
each video is a cinematic experience and as a guitarist these videos have become some of my favorites.
Your openings gives me chills dude... what the hell!
Men, you are so underrated as a creator, this is crazy
Dude for real. Just came across this video and I’m like wtf?! This is crazy solid quality.
@@craig1474 ?
@@NicCat420 nope, but basically cat lol
@@craig1474 ???
There is only one creator
Im nearly positive this dude has the best intros to his videos ever bro
This video is like a documentary, art project, concert, personal vlog and music video all in one. Great stuff. I saw Nirvana live on the nevermind tour in Seattle back in the day. Those were the days.
I honestly liked the first speaker the most, it sounded the most clear
Inagree, 1 sounded the most normal, 3 the wildest imo
First speaker sounds like my ideal distortion tone tbh...
I love the authenticity of the tv in the background. It made it seem new age. What a badass guitar tone tune. Incredible+!
That intro song was too perfect man, is that a unreleased song of yours? The guitar just had that tone I’m chasing for!
It’s a variation on Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana
Who recorded it though?
I prefer the second speaker too. Sounds like it has a bit arena-effect, just like a real time Nirvana live performance.
2nd was album material. I loved the drive behind the 3rd for sure tho.
Just watched so many intros of your videos, got goosebumps each time, love it.
You motivate me to play my guitars.
wtf this video is soo good. I came for the acoustic and got the acoustic and also got a hella nice song with a fire lil music video and also learned about the speaker cabs! 100/10 Very beautiful cinematography too.

you managed to take everything i love about the montage of heck and put it into one intro, sick work dude
The cinematography is out of this world. If I saw this in a movie, I would be screaming in the theather. Keep it going man, damn... I just bought a nice camera and I hope I can make videos of this quality one day
I am so glad I found your channel a few months back. Every time one of your videos pop into my recommended its always something new and cool, thanks for all the videos :D
dude, full version of the intro? that shit is so good
Wow, your quality of production and camera work is INSANE.
Your videos are so good I always have to watch them at least 3 times in a row!
honestly my favorite youtube channel right now. love it
I keep listening to that song in the beginning over and over again
Bro that musical idea at the beginning is ridiculously good. I come back to this video bidaily to listen to it dawg.
Think I've listened to the intro 20+ times by now. Love
That intro gave me chills
This chanel is a gold mine with these intros !!!
i just want these intros to last forever. I don't even listen to music while I work anymore, I just play them over and over again.
your videos are so excellent man

Always great seeing a new video from you! Keep up the amazing work
I love those intro bits to your videos!
Man, seriously, I cried watching your videos, you need more expose, your'e awesome, im sure Kurt would be proud of this material.
Speaker 2 on that Marshall quad cab literally gave me chills. I. Love. Your. Channel.
make a song out of the intro. i'll buy it.
I was not expecting the quality that I just stumbled upon, your going to be big one day!
Love the style of the vids. awesome
Kurt also used the Stella on his home recordings!
a year late, but i think the wide difference in speaker tone between the same model could be from what they've experienced in their life- play time, play volume, etc etc... but i dont know, going down the speaker rabbit hole makes me go crazy....

I liked number 3 the best. It's very bright and you get to hear those upper strings too. It would probably be cool to layer that with 2 or 4.
Love the new look bro! Love all your videos too!!!
You are true inspiration man keep up the good work
Speaker 3 sounded really throaty. I really dig it. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing
please make more music like the intro, it is so god damn good. I need more!
Always look forward to your videos!
#3 was my fav, just something about it grabbed me the most
Great video as usual, and that intro song was so good. I think I prefer speaker 2 as well, but liked them all for different reasons.
The INTRO SONG is B E A U T I F U L. It would be awesome as a Movie Soundtrack too...... Congrats Aaron, keep creating your songs.
Literally exactly the tone of "something In the way" and "polly". Fuckin amazing. The "vibe" u set with your "intro movies" is so awesome! U r a dood! For sure! Awesome stuff!
Speaker 3 definitely appealed to me for sure.
Great work! Sounds super close to the tone. Wonder what strings he used? Maybe he kept stock 1’s. Also what pick did he use or was it his nails. Fine details of the tone.
Love these videos
Cut an album already man I want to listen to the intro over and over.... keep up the great work!
I love that intro ❤
wow that harmony's tone is absolutely album perfect.. it has that low end come in with such a drup.. i had to make that word up because i couldnt articulate it.
2 and 3 both soundend amazing
The intros are always a movie.
love the music man, i gotchu with the bass riffs😁
Speaker 3 was my personal favourite
On the topic of Kurt and acoustic guitars, would be fun to see a video on the tone of his d-18e for MTV Unplugged.
this is awesome man! i loved speakers 2 and 4 the most i think, they both sounded amazing, as did the intro! i was wondering after you're done with nevermind, do you think you'll get to recreating the bleach guitar tone? that i would love to see
Boy. You are right. Those speakers sound all different. My favorite is #3. I think It gets that visceral Kurt tone. Good job. Thanks for doing this.
I like speaker #1 the best, sounds the fullest to my ears.
Wonderful video as always
IDK if anyone has already said this but You dial your amps in better then anyone else on UA-cam playing Nirvana. Cheers!
Bro I haven't cried for 2 years but you make me cry with one of your videos which you act like Kurt Cobain In a concert .
Love you really much.
is the intro song on any streaming platorms that was heat
So awesome.
I love your videos, especially the cinematic intros! What camera do you use?

I think speaker 3 is the best and btw. the intro of this video was just great keep on!
Holy hell this channel needs like 3 mil subs PRONTO
I really enjoy your content. Good stuff 👍🏼
The intro to this vid was actually crazy great job man! Could you try and do the tone for drain you?
Really good the video it is so crazy good
Like how you are experimenting Aaron. #2 speaker for sure !
Also don't worry too much about rushing tone videos, I love your cinematics and storytelling so honestly it doesn't even have to be a tone video 😭 I'd just watch you talk for 20 minutes
The first Celestion on the bottom right sounded best to me. Crazy that there was so much variation with them.
I loved 1 and 3 speakers tbh
That intro was insane
Absolute genius
I like 1 best, but 2 sounds good too…like a pulsonic

Polly is spot on bro that is crazyyyyyy
jesus that intro was your most amazing yet
speakers 3 and 4 have the nevermind sound scooped sound, speaker 2 like you said is so in utero sounding
