If you are new to my channel, my name is Josh Snodgrass and I'm the guy playing the guitar. I present this music as a form of worship with the hope that you will be encouraged to go deeper in your walk with God. Jesus Christ is the Messiah who came to offer the world the hope of forgiveness for our sins and new life in him. He's the Son of God and he came to earth and took on human flesh, living as one of us. He didn't sin at all, and He is completely perfect. Because of His perfection, He was worthy to give His life on the cross as a sacrifice for the rest of us who have fallen short. He rose again in victory over sin and death and came back to life on the 3rd day. When we repent from our sins and turn to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior in faith, we will be completely forgiven by God for all of our sins. He offers us a complete pardon, trading his record for ours. He takes our sin and offers us His righteousness. Place your faith in Jesus and follow Him as He directs you through the Bible and the Holy Spirit.

Music doesn't get much better than this. Very disappointed we don't hear these hymns in most churches anymore; but so glad Josh is doing his part to keep this beautiful music alive through his videos and performances. Thanks to you and to God for this inspiration!

Instrumental hymns don't get any better than this. Refreshingly simple. Thank you so much for the hard work you do in putting all these together and glorifying God with your talents and virtuosity. Such a delightful change to be blessed by these older hymns. We need to keep them in the public awareness, especially in the churches.

A poem that wrote as I reflect on this Easter. It is titled "Five Sorrows"
Into the garden He went to pray,
His heart in agony for the very next day.
With folded hands and bended knees
He bowed his head and full of dread,
He prayed that God would hear his pleas.
An angel came to give him might
So that all afflictions would leave his sight.
With boundless love for you and me,
In the Garden of Gethsemane,
He prayed for the day that was at hand
Knowing that it had to be
Just as God had planned.
To the pillar He was sent.
The day had come from his great lament.
His robes were stripped to bare his skin,
Ready to bear the weight of sin
And as the crowd began to merge,
The soldier swung his dreadful scourge
With every lash the people cheered.
They raised their fists and roared and jeered.
Mary stood within the horde,
The Holy Mother of Christ the Lord.
She held his pain within her hand
Knowing that it had to be
Just as God had planned.
A crown was placed upon His head,
A crown of thorns from whence He bled.
“Behold!” they shouted, “The King of the Jews!”
And over His wounds they draped a gown,
A purple robe befitting His crown.
Upon His back He bore the weight
Of that sacred cross that held His fate
With so much toil and pain so great,
Through the city and out the gate,
He marched His cross to Calvary Hill
So that He could fulfill God’s will.
Upon the cross, they made him lie
On which he was nailed and meant to die.
They raised Him up for all to see
And Christ gave God his final pleas.
“Forgive them, Father!”
With love so true
“They do not know what they do!”
“Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit.”
Upon that cross then Jesus died
And a spear was pierced into His side
With boundless love for you and me
On the hill of Calvary
He gave His life for us to live
He gave us everything that he could give
Now let Him take you by the hand
Knowing that it all will be
Just as God had planned.
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful poem. It is so simple and yet so all- encompassing of Our Savior's journey to His death on the Cross and his agony. Shalom!
At first, I think your poem is nice, until I read the word "holy mother of Christ". Because of this, I disagree to you because this is not Biblical. And anything that is unbiblical doctrine or teachings, is not of GOD. Let us be clear of this, and hoping that we must stand on the Truth that is written in the Holy Scriptures (which is the WORD of GOD).
@EcoTour I'm Catholic. I believe that Mary is holy. Catholics believe that worship is due to God alone. Catholics do, however, venerate Mary. In other words, we honor our Blessed Mother with great reverence and devotion because she is the Mother of God. Mary is the model of perfect love and obedience to Christ.

Thank you Josh for this music. I'm really struggling with life right now. I just found out I have really bad cancer that spread!! Im on disability allready and don't get much. I'm afraid before this is thru. That I'm going to loose my house. I'm starting to wonder if its worth going thru surgery and other treatment. I feel myself slipping away from God. Please pray for me and that my faith doesn't waiver as its doing now. Please pray for me, for healing. Thank you. Love your music.

@@JoshSnodgrass I've been inspired to learn it by ear because I can't find any original song tabs anywhere. Thx for the inspiration.
@@DustyMcFarland Awesome, I almost always use a drop D capo and I often tune the guitar down either a half or full step so hopefully those tips will help you out a bit. As I am remembering though, some of these original songs that I've done I played in the key of C (my chord shapes probably would have been in C but I still probably tuned down). This means that I might not have used the drop D capo since I normally just use that in D or G. Sorry I don't have tab for it. I am working to release another tab book this year.
@Josh Snodgrass definitely looking forward to it! Yeah lastnight I found that out from your last tab book I knew you tune down a half step often so I did that and played in C with a drop D capo on 2 and found the melody to the whole song. Now I'll just work on the cool little in-between notes and maybe eventually encorperate Travis picking style somehow lol maybe not it's alot of work. But if you can cover and make hundreds of songs "your own" and actually finish them making studio quality versions I have time to finish atleast A song 😆
@@DustyMcFarland It is all a lot of work for sure! The nice thing is that the more you do it, the faster it goes. When I first started working on fingerstyle arrangements, I'd spend 3-6 months arranging and learning to play one song and even then, it didn't sound very good. Now I can arrange, practice and record a song in 3-5 days so it does get quicker. Like you said though, that's after a few hundred attempts. I think a lot of it is just about passion and discipline to do the hard work. You need both the passion and the discipline to progress as a fingerstyle guitarist.
