Opinions on the ending are 50/50. Ive met people who've either really liked it or really hated it. In my opinion its not a good question to ask cause you should judge it based on how YOU saw the anime :D
guilty crown is a dropped egg- it had the opportunity to hatch into something that will define anime for the next decade- amazing visuals, epic soundtrack, a good story, awesome characters, and yet, in the end, because of some asshole in charge, it ended up as probably one of the greatest clusterfucks in the history of anime. guilty crown should be remembered -as an example of how to NOT end an anime.
In the near future, I plan on rewatching Guilty Crown because I wasn't in the best midset for it whenever I first watched it. Definitely not as bad as many people claim, I just didn't get to fully enjoy it at the time. Awesome AMV, by the way.

you know what i realize that happened in this anime. when gai came back inori's void was shot out, the only void that can forcibly take them out is gai's. how the hell did gai use his when he still didnt have the kings power. did the other guy with the power take it out. i was just like ho the fuq did that happen

He's afraid of dying within that cage that GHQ set up, and after witnessing Hare's death he needed to make an efficient system where he and his fellow students can survive and escape. Remember, he's very weary of what people think of him. Despite that, he's willing to absorb the hatred because he knows he's doing the right thing.
