    Another cool trick is when you have the letter pair WC or CW, just do the alg of the second letter with wide U moves to solves both.
    Ex: CW would be M u2 M u2 (alg of the letter W but with wide U moves) and it solved both pieces

  • @CarlosRoigBCN
    @CarlosRoigBCN 3 роки тому +10

    Hi J-Perm, I just wanted to add, that you can skip I/S even in more cases. I've been thinking about it and testing, and if you have something like "...JF IC..." you could solve "...J FI C..." and pair the I with the previous F to do the skip. You need to do it a little bit different, but it works :) That means, that you would't be able to skip it only in the case where the I/S has a C/A/W/Q before AND after, that is quite improbable. (I'm just learning M2/Orozco and I haven't even done a full solve by myself, but I think that this can work)

    • @davidchust
      @davidchust 2 роки тому

      But because of the previous M2 (in this case the M2 after J), I and S will be swapped, so u will hv to do J FS C.
      It takes me some time to find out this problem😂may do a few solves to see if doing this is faster or not

    • @davidchust
      @davidchust 2 роки тому

      Also i find splitting the letter pairs a bit awkward as we normally go straight to our algorithm when recalling that pairs. This method will add a processing procedure that I'm not sure if it's worth it. The I/S swap is not that slow after all😂

    SETUPS MOVES WITHOUT ROTATION
    ( For side targets )
    I found a setup move for ( E/F/G/H ) and ( M/N/O/P ) that doesn't require ROTATING the entire cube in any way.
    E : L' ( Uw' L' Uw )
    F : L2 ( Uw' L' Uw )
    G : L ( Uw' L' Uw )
    H : ( Uw' L' Uw )
    M : R ( Uw R Uw' )
    N : ( Uw R Uw' )
    O : R' ( Uw R Uw' )
    P : R2 ( Uw R Uw' )
    Explanation: the setup moves derive from the original setup moves for H and N. What we do is put for example we put M/O/P into the N slot using one move either ( R, R' or R2 ) and then execute the setup move for N. Same idea for the left side.
    Once you understand the moves and exactly whats going on, this can be executed extremely fast with absolutely no rotation. Cheers.

      UB/FU: U’: [R’ F’ R, S]
      UB/DB: (M2) (U2 M’ U2 M’)

    Hello everyone, I have a couple beginner questions about BLD rules. If anyone has answers to any of these questions, I would greatly appreciate them!
    Is there a +2 penalty in BLD? If you are off by one move, is it a DNF or a +2?
    Can I speak to myself while solving BLD in competition? Or do you have to make literally 0 noise. Isn't that why everyone is wearing earplugs? When I practice at home, talking to myself makes audio memo and execution way easier. I can’t imagine doing audio edges by merely mouthing the words to myself. What are the WCA rule & competition culture on this issue? How loud can you get before getting in trouble?
    How do BLD time limits work? I'm guessing 10 minutes means you have 10 minutes for each solve, but 10 minutes cumulative means all 3 of your solves have to add up to less than 10 minutes. Is that correct?
    It looks to me that averages in BLD are completely irrelevant. Only your BO3 matters. Is this always true at every competition? A person with 2 DNFs and 1 fast solve ranks higher than someone with 3 slow solves. Despite the fact that the fast/inconsistent solver has a DNF average.
    Thanks!

    • @muadh7316
      @muadh7316 Рік тому +1

      If your cube is one move off then its a +2 not DNF. Yes averages are irrelevant in BLD. The fastest single matters.

      Personally I set it up to a flip that I do know. So if UF is flipped, I do U2 and then ((U' M')3 U' M)2, then U2 again. For DB I would probably do B2 as the setup, or maybe M U2.

    I'm not sure about the I/S skip trick. I understand the concept intuitively, but it disrupts muscle memory, maybe with a lot of practice it can save 2-3 seconds but if that time saving matters then you probly should just move on to 3-style.

    • @kerkare
      @kerkare 2 роки тому

      Well I didn’t even do the cool thing and I skipped s

      Point is, it IS a 3 style alg with a one move setup (M or M’), albeit not with the UF buffer.

    • @andybe8056
      @andybe8056 2 роки тому

      Yeah, it's a different buffer. But it has buffer, commutator, inserts, ... switches from I to J to buffer... Like 3 Style.
      I was wondering why he said, it would not help for 3-style. It helps you get the concept.
