Danny Koo of Ensemble Ditto, known as the idol band of classical music, started to learn to play the violin at age six. After graduating from the New England Conservatory of Music, he mostly performed in the U.S. In 2016 he joined Ensemble Ditto and began to perform in Korea. Founded the goal of performing music that empathizes with the public, Ensemble Ditto has carried out various projects to bring classical music closer to the ordinary public. Danny Koo, a very enthusiastic member of Ensemble Ditto, hosts a show on Naver's V Live channel. Recently he held a guerilla concert at Gimpo Airport along with Richard Yongjae O'Neill as part of the Oxfam Trailwalker project aimed at overcoming poverty. This week on "Heart to Heart" -- violinist Danny Koo of classical chamber music group Ensemble Ditto, which marks its 10th anniversary this year.
한국 클래식 음악계의 새로운 아이콘, 앙상블 디토의 바이올리니스트 대니 구. 6살 때부터 바이올린을 시작한 그는 뉴 잉글랜드 음악원 졸업 이후 주로 미국 무대에서 활약하다가 2016년 앙상블 디토에 합류하면서 본격적으로 한국 관객들을 만나기 시작했다. '공감하는 클래식'을 미션으로 하는 앙상블 디토는 일반 대중들에게 친숙하게 클래식을 알리기 위해 다양한 프로젝트를 진행 중이다. 현재 대니 구는 특유의 밝은 에너지로 앙상블 디토의 네이버 브이 라이브 채널 메인 진행자로도 활약하고 있다. 최근에는 가난 극복을 위한 기부 프로젝트 '옥스팜 트레일 워커'의 일환으로 리처드 용재 오닐과 함께 김포공항에서 게릴라 공연을 하기도 했다고. 이번 주 [Heart to Heart]에서는 올해 10주년을 맞은 클래식 실내악 그룹 '앙상블 디토'의 바이올리니스트 대니 구를 만나본다.
