I’m 61 and have been a Bowie fan for what seems to be my entire life. In my opinion, this was a great tribute from someone who genuinely liked Bowie.
I thought it was dreadful how she was criticised. She was a huge fan expressing her love for him. Personally I thought she did a great job

If anyone was going to do a tribute, it had to be Gaga. She was the ultimate fan and we have seen from day one of her career just how much Bowie influenced her style.

She was the prefect person for this. David bowie was an absolute icon and crested fan theories that started a bunch of things. He was talented in a way the world barely sees. Gaga is the modern David bowie
To the people who trashed Gaga for this performance, she had a deal with Intel to use their new technologies in this performance months before. It was Grammys who wanted to turn her performance into Bowie’s tribute. She agreed because she loves, admires, and respects Bowie. But she still had to honor her deal with intel, hence all the ”extras.” She didn't have much time to prepare for the tribute performance but still pulled it off. She gave up her performance to give it to one of her heroes, whom she had a portrait tattooed not long after his death. While you complained about a ”terrible” tribute performance, we Little Monsters have to see a great concept for a what-could’ve-been-amazing performance never sees the light. It might not be a great performance as you expected. But to call Gaga not talented is to be tasteless. You just hate her because she's a woman.
Nobody called her talentless, but it was not a good tribute. She’s just not the right person to do it.

back in may or june 2021, I rewatched it and said to myself, I wanted to know more about Gaga's idol, David Bowie and how he influenced her and I started, from his self titled album to blackstar. I have to say, Thank you Lady Gaga for introducing me to him, my god he's a freaking genius 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🥰 I don't like rock but if it's DB, I join 😁 I read a lot comments from his veteran fans, I love it and I wanna be like them one day. Lady Grinning Soul!! Some other Diamond Dogs stuff other than Rebel Rebel.. and come on.. Let’s Dance? Thats way over played. I know she probably had to appeal to the masses... but wouldn’t it just blow their socks off if she had the guts to tackle something like Station to station? Or even some of the 1.Outside stuff?? I think I would have preferred a simpler tribute, maybe just 1 or 2 songs in the performance. This huge collage of tracks is too flashy and doesn't allow the listener to appreciate the greatness of each song. I think Gaga is great, but I definitely feel this performance was too much and could have been more effective if it was more subdued.
