Do you believe in miracles? Let’s go back almost 200 years and tell you a story that remains a great mystery to this day. It takes place in Santa Fe, New Mexico, entering Loretto Chapel there is a sense of awe. The story takes place almost 200 years ago.
As we retell the story you decide if you believe in miracles. There were 7 nuns that ran a school for girls. When the time came a chapel was built. The chapel was beautiful but there was a problem. The choir loft was very high up and a ladder nor a straight staircase were an option.
Not knowing what to do the nuns prayed for 9 straight days. On the 10th day a traveler came to their door and said he would build the stairs. Was this a miracle? The traveler who arrived on a mule, had some basic tools, and asked for some tubs where it is believed he soaked the wood. He had one request and that was to build the stairs in privacy. The nuns agreed.
The man built a spiral staircase with 33 steps the has 2 360 degree turns, It stood only on the base of the stairs. The nuns were thrilled and wanted to thank the man but he was gone. No one knew his name or where he came from or why he left without being paid or thanked.
Do you believe in miracles?
The steps have been examined by experts and no one know how the step stand without support, who the man was or where the wood he used cam from.
You decide if you believe in miracles.

33 steps!!! reminds us about 33 years of Jesus earthly life!
Thank you for watching our video.
🌹Yes, I believe in miracles, and I don't try to overthink what happens. The Sisters prayed a novena to Saint Joseph, and he answered their prayers. Prayers are answered everyday. I know, I have prayers answered everyday. Just pray, don't question!😇😇🌹
We appreciate your comment. Prayers are answered everyday. 🌹🌷
33 steps!! A miracle from God! ❤

I believe in miracles, i see miracles every time I see God's creations.
I was married there in 1984 and my wife and I had our picture taken on the stairs.

I live in New Mexico state. Just only close to 2 hours to Loretto Chapel. Been there twice and every time i visit there, i feel serenity. Despite a small chapel church, it is a beautiful chapel. I believe in miracles and it doesn't need to be ask. Sometimes God will show the way in the most unexpected ways. GOD bless us ALL.
Yes I felt serenity there too.
I believe in Jesus so I believe in miracles ✝️
You should visit this church it’s amazing.
Miracles happen ❤️ one day surely

Yes I believe in Miracles . St.Joseph answered the Prayers of the Nun 😇
St. Joseph the Worker, please pray for us all, in Jesus Name Amen..
That is a fascinating story!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, I believe this staircase is a miracle. I have seen so many documentaries on this staircase. Oh, how hard they try to explain it. For those who believe no proof is necessary, for those who do not, no amount of proof would stir their hearts. 🙏 Jan
We appreciate you taking the time to comment with your insight.
I was able to view from another upload Jimmy Akin’s Mysterious World, and I tend to agree and favor his research‼️That probably Archbishop Lamy commissioned the construction of said mysterious Staircase, in France and paid the same thereat and transported via Ship and train to Santa Fe, New Mexico! The builder Rochas “Frenchy”, shipped the already assembled (in France) staircase and had it installed where it is now located in Loreto, Santa Fe, New Mexico‼️The French had that skill/expertise to construct not only woodcrafts but likewise, STEEL Fabrications! Like the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris, France! FYI, the Engineers and skilled Frenchmen who did said Tower, were the ones who built the San Sebastián STEEL Church in the Philippines🇵🇭. A Roman Catholic Church, located in Manila. They transported the steel structures via Ship, some parts already assembled in France‼️This CHURCH is still standing and being used for worship by the FILIPINO Catholics. Please google it or research from Wikipedia about the San Sebastián Church, Philippines🇵🇭‼️If they were able to transport one whole Church, (All STEEL) , the Miraculous Stairway is no comparison. Religiously, myself a Catholic from birth(am now Octogenarian) , probably, GOD through the intercession of St. Joseph sent his representative, Rochas to install the said STAIRCASE🙏‼️The arrival of Rochas on the tenth day after the sisters’ NOVENA, could have been a coincidence or GOD’S PLAN🙏‼️GOD BLESS US ALL‼️

Yes I do believe that Blessed Saint Joseph built these beautiful stairs ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Have you ever been to see them?
Yessss he did!!!!!!!
I was there; I saw it. An amazing structure. I remember the tour guide saying that no one hase been able to recreate it since.
Yes it’s truly amazing.
No one is allowed, since it breaks to many building codes.
Free-standing stairs are being built all over the country right now.
@@jamesbaldwin7676 that’s interesting. Thank you for sharing.
The French fella who built has built the same stair case more than once around the world.. This is not a miracle.. But if you tell people its a miracle lots of people will come & spend money.. Great scam.. Its not even a chapple now.. I am sure if it was a miracle from god it wouldnt be used for what its used for now..
I went there several years ago . The staircase is a beautiful piece of art. To have been built in the 1800's with hand tools no nails of any kind and made of wood that comes from hundreds of miles from Santa Fe is just awesome .
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We think it’s awesome too.
3545 miles away in. ALASKA

This is amazing, no nails.
Nope they can’t replicate it.
Thanks for the video! I'll be in the area in 2 weeks... I'll go check it out
You’re welcome. I know you will enjoy it.
The staircase was molded with loving hands, nobody on earth can do that.

However it came together, it is a beautiful staircase which I found to be a pleasure to observe.
We agree it was just a beautiful staircase, church and the area is worth exploring.
Really enjoyed your video on this!

Yes, i believe in God, absolutely i believe in miracle, God is good, God is Great, in Jesus name, Amen❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
My Irish Catholic father told me about this story back in the 1960s. Re 1969.
What did he say about these stairs?
My wife and I visited this chapel while on our honeymoon back in 1982. This account is much the way it was told to us by a nun whose service was with the church back then.
Thank you so much for sharing. We always try to be accurate and it’s great to hear that’s what you were told.

Miracles are man's everyday life. It is because of our lack of communication and connectivity to God that we do not come to experience it everyday but in times where we don't expect or in times we pray eagerly and with pure heart that is the time we see God's presence manifest in our lives.
It's just my view.
Thank you for watching and sharing your view. We appreciate it.
Absolutely devine intervention. You missed mentioning that the hand rails were added at a later date for safety.
Oh thank you for mentioning that. We love our community that helps get all the information.

Climbing the stairways to heaven you got to go step-by-step together step-by-step climbing the stairways to heaven . 🎵
Yes
The french man who started building died before he could make the staircase. The sisters didnt just say " oh we forgot to build a staircase " haha
Thank you for the added information.
Was this the type of wood Jesus used? This appears someone from heaven ordered this to be built
I believe it is Loretto.
Thanks for commenting.
Years of dedication to his craft. Kudos to the carpenter.
It’s truly amazing carpentry.
Well worth the admission price even without being a miracle.
Yes it is.
Just like the big towers on top of cathedral buildings.
Amazing
What kind of wood is it ???
The research is still inconclusive as to what kind of wood, the closest they could find was a wood in Alaska.
In the name of Jesus. Yes I believe .AMEN🙏🙏🙏

33 🪜 STEPS huh? 🤔
It's not Laredo!! It's Loretto!! Sheesh, also the prayer said is a NOVENA, meaning 9 day prayer!

Are people allowed to step on the staircase????
No you can’t touch or step in them. They want to preserve them
@@ExploringThroughOurLens ♥️♥️♥️♥️
The place is Loretto, not Laredo.
Thank you for the correction. We know it’s spelled wrong but can’t change the title. Have you been to Loretto Chapel?
Interesting fact that there are 33 steps in total.
We think it’s interesting too. Do you care to share more as to why it’s interesting to you?
nope. count again.
@@ExploringThroughOurLensprobably because Jesus was 33 when he got crucified
33 steps? Wasn’t the age of Jesus 33 years old?😮
Was it a mule or donkey? Why not mention that there was no railing on the original staircase. That was installed much later.
Yes that is true. They installed it much later because they were concern about how it was staying up. We appreciate you letting our community know.
...carpenter with a mule...
sounds similar to another
Loretto chapple guy
Yes Loretto Chapel. Thank you for the correction.
Got to be St Joseph who did it.
Thanks for the comment
Except it wasn't, it was just a master stair builder of the 19th Century, without the skill or the will, to finish the job by adding a handrail (which BTW, is much harder to learn and to do.)
This doesn't mean that prayers weren't answered, or that it wasn't well-worth the trip and price of admission to see it. I did and I recommend it and I'm a professional stair/handrail builder.
Loretto Chapel not Laredo!
Yes thank you for the correction
33 steps like Jesus’s age when he died
They prayed a novena not a Nirvana
Thank you for the corrections we strive to get things right.
Why would they sell this Catholic Church 😢
I’m not sure why? Thank you for watching the video.
It really is a wonderful staircase and a great mystery. A true miracle. But me being the freethinking person I am it is very possible that the guy never returned because he was killed somewhere. And maybe he stole stole wood or brought it with him, anything could’ve happened. If you look at the timeline it’s not like he completed it overnight or in a week. It took him eight months or two years depending on what video you’re watching on UA-cam. So that would seem legitimate I think as a Carpenter. Now how it’s able to support that weight I believe it has a reverse spring in the wood that he was able to obtain with water. But who knows this is very interesting
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us and our community. The story is an amazing one and whether it was a miracle or the guy worked for months, we will probably never know for sure but we find it to be a very interesting story. Have you ever seen the staircase in person?
If you haven’t already done so we hope you will considering subscribing to our channel for more videos.
@@ExploringThroughOurLens well I did some research and I was able to draw a pretty clear conclusion. The guy who built the stairs was a French man. I can’t remember his exact name but he built the stairs there is many newspaper articles saying the man who built the stairs. He was assassinated in dog canyon near his cabin. This was over a dispute because he moved into this canyon with pretty much no permission and a couple of the locals did not like that. Also they were stealing his cattle I believe. The French man had some balls on him and said he was going to call the cops and you were going to go to jail. The following night he died
@@SunTzu2024 wow extensive research. Thank you for sharing that.
@@ExploringThroughOurLens this is his name.. François-Jean "Frank" or "Frenchy" Rochas
@@SunTzu2024 More great information. Have you been to the stairs?
Name one thing in nature you say aint a miracle starting with a drop of rain grain of sand or sun light which by the way is what the wood that made these came from
Lets see you make sand.everything is a miracle
I agree
It’s Loretto not Lorado you goof
Yep mistakes are made
A Novena not a Novana also they are answer on the 9day not the 10
Thank you for watching and let us know that information.
Im a follower of Jesus Christ so dont take this the wrong way....Why would a staircase be a miracle? Miracles are done for a reason. There doesnt seem to be a reason for this
The nuns need the stair case to get the the upper level. They prayed for a staircase we explained it in the video. It’s a great story
A lot of misleading in this video It was on the 9th day And And also you said this wood Can be founded somewhere else in the world That's Not True This wood Does not exist anywhere in the world
Thank you for watching and sharing that information we strive to get the facts right but sometimes we are misinformed.
You're welcome
The staircase is magnificent but not miraculous. It is likely built by François-Jean "Frank" or "Frenchy" Rochas (1843-1894).
We don’t do ourselves any favours by believing in superstitious rumours and sadly Catholicism is full of stories like this.
How about we stick to the core basics of the faith which have stood the test of historical rigour for 2 millennia and have a few miracles sprinkled in for good measure along the way :-).
Thank you for watching the video and sharing your thoughts.
a guy builds a staircase and people think it's a miracle. have you heard of the pyramids?
Yep we have. They’re pretty incredible.

fake , dysfunctional , no ware , nobody uses it, and they will not show it, all shots are from 15 ft away....show me the top of it................
We appreciate you watching the video and giving your opinion.
I am sixty four years old and I've never been to this chapel. I really do not like going to Santa Fe it's been taken over by the whole foods, lgbtqtgifriday groups and super rich asses.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Lucky there are so many other places to choose from.
There is no mystery here, and definitely no miracle ! It was built by an expert carpenter, yes. But it was unstable and unsafe from the get go as it had a steep incline, so much so that the nuns had to crawl down to prevent falling. And an iron railing had to be added years later to prevent accidents. In fact it hasn’t been used as a staircase for decades to prevent structural collapse. There is a central wooden support of small diameter. We also know the name and origin of the French carpenter. There has been payment made for services rendered as there were receipts found and we even know where he is buried. Spruce is the wood that is was made off which is hardly uncommon in the Americas. Samples of the wood are not allowed to be taken for scientific examination, so it’s impossible to determine the exact species of spruce used. Wooden pegs were the norm at the time since iron nails were expensive and difficult to come by. The church is a ‘for profit museum’ so there is an obvious financial incentive to perpetuate a ‘miraculous’ mystery, especially in a religious setting. And lastly, the ‘mysterious carpenter rode in on a donkey you say…. I call 🫏 💩 ! 🙄🤦🏽♂️🤣
Thank you for sharing the information you have. Everyone has thoughts, opinions and ideas of fact. I open to hear it all.
