To all Thais, I as a Singaporean and neighbour grieve together with you. I just went to Thailand 2 months ago to meet my Thai friends. Really glad to have Thailand as our neighbour. We feel your loss and pain and hope your country can pull through these difficult times. Same like how they said Lee was an authoritarian leader, they will put any negative things about Thai Royal Family having strict rules on the people about insulting the royal family. We are not from the west. We are Asians and we have our own rules. They never respect Asians for that. So do not get offended by how the news portray your king. Dear BBC your information are totally wrong and suck !!!! I am thai who traveled more than 100 countries as thai crew and reporter when I watched your reported it 's rubbit . BBC Thailand please pay the consequence if you still stay in the land of Siam .
from the forbes magazine I knew that He is the richest King in this world, but He is not like other kings, some of them live in luxury, they bought private jet cover with gold, or collection some supper cars, But Thai king so humble, He just focus to help the poor, thats why He look like God for thai people, its so easy to find His picture, because people worship Him in Thai, Im not Thai my deepcondolences to Royal Thai family, Thailand has lost a father, and this world has lost the greatest king ever 😭😭😭😭😭
BBC, shame on you! Is this about the late King or it is your way to use his death to serve your hidden agenda? My beloved King is literally a great man and one of the best King ever lived in this world. That's what we think of him and we are the ones who know best because we are Thais. Believe it or not, love him or hate him, it's your choice. Bad words always come from bad attitude and that is not my problem. I won't try to change your belief or your attitude because it affects you not me. We, thai people, love him and will always do. By the way, those who want to know why we love him this much, search for this song " love eternally" . This song might tell you in brief why he won our hearts.
BBC is so ignorant once again. You make it sound as if Thai people are all stupid and we merely love our King because there is a lese-majeste law. The fact is that we love our King because of what he has done for our country and for our people in the past 70 years. If the writer would do some research, and has a real intention of reporting something factual, he would not have come up with these simple minded comments in this clip. I suggest BBC removes this clip because it insults the people of Thailand.
"In all 70 years as the King of Thailand, our King had never lived a luxurious life as he could do. Every day, as long as I can remember, he had worked long day and long night to help us, his people. He traveled to all the remote areas in Thailand. Places that even us do not dare to go. Map and pencil in his hands, creating thousands of his Royal projects to help his people with water project, agricultural, healthcare and so many other things more than we can think about. His palace, unlike any palace in this world, is the testing ground for new agricultural concept aim to improve people’s living. Many of these concepts had been implemented all over the country. We love him not because he is the King of Thailand but because what he has done. Our King, the ordinary man who had been working to help us all his life and never asked for anything in return." He developed this country, and contributed using his own funds to help provide even the most rural areas with public education. He developed the country, and treated his people with the utmost care and concern. This is just an example of something he did, but I can say right now, I shed tears upon hearing of his death with no shame
BBC, Thai people love the king because he is a good king that has done so much for the country not because of "strict lese majestie laws" or "military dictatorship". Your so called "lavish public affection" are shown out of true respect and love from the Thai people. Please stop your nonsense reporting and do some real reporting!!! Seriously!!!!
His Majesty, Did alot of work for his people , There will never be another King So Great Like King Bhumibol . My Namaskars To the most fortunate People of Thailand , They were most Fortunate to have him as their King. The Kind Majistic King has touched many hearts all over the World .No King has Loved His People Like Him . He was a Real King
It was the biggest sorrow & lost for Thais and the world on his majesty the King Bhumibol's dead. He was the great King of King who was longest in reigning monarch of the world. During 7 decades on Throne, He never stopped working, He worked every day for Thais, He visited every places in Thailand to see the problems and find the way out or provide the projects to solve and develop his Thai people and the country to be grown and developed. Since the first King 's speech on Reigning in Throne in 1946 he said "I will reign with righteousness, For the benefit and Happiness of the (Siamese) Thai people" His Majesty the Great King Bhumibol Adulyadej has proved that it was not a speech but it was the real action that he did everyday for Thais and the country, during his 7 decades on reigning he was the Greatest King of King on human and courntry development. Besides his works, he was the center of heart and soul for Thai people. I love the great King Bhumipol Adulyadej and for sure we are all Thai love him and his contributions done for Thais and the country and the world will be recognized and remembered into the history and the deepest of heart, soul, and spirit long lasting. I am proud to be Thai under his reigning monarch and for sure Thailand will move forward to future under the new King and the government. Please be a part of our developments and future achievements. Thailand is your best friend ever.
Poor, poor king of Thailand. It was like God's substitute in Thailand. He was born in 1928 or 1927. He became a king for 70 years or 7 decades. Even if I do not live or not a native Thai, I respect it as an 11 year old boy. Imagine that Thailand's Royal King suddenly disappears. It would be very tragic. But he suceeded his mission that God gave to him. By loving his fellow Thai people. So I hope that we dont lose Duterte, coz we'd also lose hopeness, bravery, and most of all, respectfulness. Farewell, Royal Highness of Thailand.
My deepest condolences to Thailand. I have seen with my own eyes how much His Majesty meant to the country, he will be missed by many, may he rest in peace.
It's disappointing to find that a globally-recognized media outlet such as BBC would share these twisted pieces of information. The late king was truly a man of virtue and a man of sacrifice, who is loved and respected by everyone in the right mind regardless of their political standpoints. The true assessment of his popularity was never possible? Due to technology, it has been possible for the past few years through social media sites. Yet he remained more loved than hated. And he was uncomfortable with Thaksin's popularity? Nope, he was uncomfortable with Thaksin's motives and corruption!
I think BBC would not report something such as unexplained death of the 8th king or Thaksin because many foreigner people who never know our king Bhumibon may misunderstand and develope to negative thinking about our king. This time is very hard for Thai people. We all loss our spiritual. Please don't bully Thai. Hope BBC will not report something like this again.
Stop bashing my king and my country pls.! He works so hard for Thais for 70 years. You've never known how Thai people feel about his passing. He is not a king but he is father who always takes a good care of his children as good as he can. Don't bring my beloved king to compare with Taksin. It's rediculous!!!
deeply saddened by the lost of our father and King of Thailand. Leading and guiding our country for 7 decades. He will never be forgotten for the heart of Thai people. He's in the better place now. we love our King Bhumibol Adulyadej. ♥♥♥♥♥
Please everyone.I'm Thai and feeling bad when I saw people "abuse" him its make me pain deeply into my heart,I know if you have people who love you must have people who hate you too.but this please to anyone who "abuse" him you must understand why Thai people love him so much,at least be respectful.
People loved him because he was a very humble man. He worked very very hard as king. He had countless sleepless nights. He did more work than the soldiers with him. He lived a life of service. He helped the poor and went down to their level. He was a great man. It makes me mad that the westerners talk about him with judgement. I'm not even Thai
Paul Adonia it was never him who was the one who put the people taking negatively of him in jail. In fact, he instigated the freedom of speech. And yes in this part I disagree, it was he government and actually citizens that would be hurt or put these people in prison

You lot are always crying about something or on holiday!
next week it will be about not ripping off tourists enough in tut tits.
Leave our late H.M. the King out of bad words and association with politics in your report.
+1manuscriptman Your kind words touch the heart of mine and many fellow Thais. He'd been associated with politicial turmoils as the mastermind when he indeed was hospitalised most of the time. Having been used as a propaganda, a number of Thais have long turned against him and they have been expressing hatre speech against him openly on Facebook and UA-cam. It hurts to read those hateful comments coming from Thais. Thank you again for your understanding. The loss is enormous. He was the irreplacebly father figure for the nation.
an enigmatic man,yes , but a gentle man and truly loved by the Thais ...I was sorry to hear it this evening , my condolence ......Marty, Australia.
Rip You gone to a better place I am British half Thai this day I nearly cry but he was a good man. long live King bhumibol
R.I.P. My King
I will always remember your greatness.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej will live forever in our hearts.
I'm sad and feel sorry for the Thais.
I respect the king and all he did for the country.
I'm in Thailand at the moment and I can feel the sadness.
BBC news, really? How much did Thaksin pay you for this?
Paul Lanark yeah blame everything on Taksin !
let's just remember our king
it's real i'm thaipeople our king is dead ;__;
LOL.
Is that a classic joke ???
the shinawatra destroyed our country
Rest in peace your majesty of Thailand from Taiwanese people

Future..let it be..coz what will be..will be..as long as we stick together as one and be strong as a nation..Thailand is still the father's land..we need to protect one another..there will be hatred and chaos..but also loves and memories..his legacies remain..And I am very proud to say that..I was born in the reign of King Rama IX..🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭

I was wondering what took so long for this to become a trending topic.
Sympathies and respects to the Thai Nation . A good and great man who stood above all the political turmoil, always had the welfare of the people and country at heart . A lost no only to Thailand but to the world .
the fact is you can not tell people to love you ...... and another fact is Thai King does not tell us to love him ....... Many men can make a grandeur but very few can build a family. King is our family King is our father
'When a man cries for the nation, he loves the nation. When the nation cries for a man, he must ve built the nation.'
My condolence to people of Thailand - Singapore
Unfortunate the comment section is filled with so many trolls. I'm Thai myself but not very in tuned with my culture or heritage. All I know is my Mom and many Thai friends are sadden by this news as he was a great King. RIP.
Every time I see the king Rama 9 I always crying, I miss him. If he still alive Thailand should not be like this moment.
What did he do
The Thais I know are gentle and compassionate, I wish you all a peaceful future in kindness and wisdom.
Greetings from California! I'm so sorry your king died. May he live forever in your hearts.
Our king never mentioned anything bad about Thaksin for real, it just Thaksin himself wanted to be the president ...Thai people would never ever let that happen in his reign ... Cause he has done lots more than Thaksin ... And he is genuine person.
I'm touched by how much the people of Thailand seems to love their king, R.I.P. I wish the people of my country (Sweden) could love our king even half as much.
oh my god i can't believe 😢😢😢
all tho i know very little about his majesty Bhumibol, my girlfriend absolutely adores him, i've come to understand that he is like a father for the thai people.
Rest in peace King Bhumibol and may your legacy live on
Dear BBC your information are totally wrong and suck !!!! I am thai who traveled more than 100 countries as thai crew and reporter when I watched your reported it 's rubbit . BBC Thailand please pay the consequence if you still stay in the land of Siam .
Ohm somratchana moonsai Pleas stop whining about THE BC' s fine reporting on the death of this despicable little cretin.
any facts backing this statement?
that he is a "despicable little cretin"
from the forbes magazine I knew that He is the richest King in this world, but He is not like other kings, some of them live in luxury, they bought private jet cover with gold, or collection some supper cars, But Thai king so humble, He just focus to help the poor, thats why He look like God for thai people, its so easy to find His picture, because people worship Him in Thai, Im not Thai my deepcondolences to Royal Thai family, Thailand has lost a father, and this world has lost the greatest king ever 😭😭😭😭😭
All kings are idiots. We need democracy not some idiot wearing a silly hat.
This was truly sad, and I'm not even from Thailand

edfrog i am thai people now our country is very sad T - T
@AgarTube also plenty of some jerk westerner
Yesterday is my saddest day in my life I'm cry so bad.
I still miss him today. I'm so lucky to have witnessed what he did to the country. He was the greatest king.
you will be in my heart until I die 😢😢
BBC is so ignorant once again. You make it sound as if Thai people are all stupid and we merely love our King because there is a lese-majeste law. The fact is that we love our King because of what he has done for our country and for our people in the past 70 years. If the writer would do some research, and has a real intention of reporting something factual, he would not have come up with these simple minded comments in this clip. I suggest BBC removes this clip because it insults the people of Thailand.
If you ask me "why thai people love the king this much " I will ask you back " you have time to listen for a whole day " 🙏🏻🙏🏻🇹🇭🇹🇭
I give my condolences to all the people of Thailand 😊
That emoji is not apropriate here
Because of the law, his actions in the past remained unsure. Some Thai still considered him as the hero, while others think he is a walking evil.
RIP the great King of Thailand........from Japan.
RIP to the longest reigning king of Thailand!
Our King, the ordinary man who had been working to help us all his life and never asked for anything in return."
He developed this country, and contributed using his own funds to help provide even the most rural areas with public education.
🙏 from the bottom of Thai people's heart.
🙏 from the bottom of Thai people's heart
sending my deep condolences to Thai people. Be strong!
REST IN PEACE HIS MAJESTY KING BHOUMIBOL ADULYADEJ.😢😢😭😭
Almost 30 years I lived in Thailand . These is nothing sad & Big lost like our OUR TRUELY FATHER & OUR KING!
Such a wonderful beautiful soul may you R.I.P my king. You will be missed and your legacy will carry on.
My heart is broken in a million pieces
rest in peace king bhumibol.. from malaysia
His Majesty symbolizes hope, not power
Stop bashing my king and my country pls.! He works so hard for Thais for 70 years. You've never known how Thai people feel about his passing.
He is not a king but he is father who always takes a good care of his children as good as he can. Don't bring my beloved king to compare with Taksin. It's rediculous!!!
i'm indonesian, and back when i saw this news on oct 2016, i cried as well. he is a powerful man. rest in peace, your majesty.
Can you compare the old king and the current king?
No it's very sad he was the best king ever
deeply saddened by the lost of our father and King of Thailand. Leading and guiding our country for 7 decades. He will never be forgotten for the heart of Thai people. He's in the better place now. we love our King Bhumibol Adulyadej. ♥♥♥♥♥
its eerily quiet in Bangkok. sad day for everyone
Please everyone.I'm Thai and feeling bad when I saw people "abuse" him its make me pain deeply into my heart,I know if you have people who love you must have people who hate you too.but this please to anyone who "abuse" him you must understand why Thai people love him so much,at least be respectful.
Rest In Peace King Bhumibol
I'm Thai. I have tear in my eyes when I saw my king did hard work for us. I think My king is the best king in Thailand.
Just saw the news. So sad
Dan at least some foreigner understand this situation thankyou
Paul Adonia it was never him who was the one who put the people taking negatively of him in jail. In fact, he instigated the freedom of speech. And yes in this part I disagree, it was he government and actually citizens that would be hurt or put these people in prison
Thank you very much 😢😢
He means a lot to us! Rest him in peace ToT ToT ToT ToT ToT ToT ToT
LOVE JESUS OR SUFFER
+abram3 What a nice BULL SHIT joke you got there.
Mark Leo YOUR MOM DUMP SHIT LOSER PUTO
abram3 Nice salty low-life kid. You better go kiss your bible than commenting on the internet.
abram3 You better learn more English before using the internet. Also, learn to use more words rather than saying, "love jesus or suffer". What is your SAT score? Must be lower than average for sure. I bet you get like 1 point in your essay tests.
