I knew a guy who was in since 1980 and got out in 2016.
His biggest shock was the fact that no one tolerated smoking in public anymore.
    I felt bad for him..

Or like maybe even a computer lab (obviously with a lot of restrictions, guard must be able to see screen at all times, no por... actually fuck that they are grown men they should be able to see a naked female, only can chat with approved people and all chat logs are viewable to guards, etc.) but yea, that would help way too much with rehabilitation and would kill the prison industrial complex.

I blame cops for the lack of kids out and about. They treat every kid like they're a criminal. Kids can't go anywhere past dark without cops harassing them, adults too, but kids have it worse. My mom wasn't as afraid of bad men getting me as dhe was scared of the cops getting me, and she was a corrections officer.

The only disturbing thing about those stories: I know jail is a punishment, but come on people, it cannot be in the interest of society to cut those people off to that extent and make it extremely difficult for them to integrate into society afterwards. At least offer them training about all that before them going out of prison!

6:21 I think there has also become this fear around letting your kids out unsupervised. Plus this more hostile every under 18 facility must be for 5 year olds and then other spots closing down as like near me local government decided a grass overflow car park that is used 0-2 times a year was more important then the world class quality skate park.

Listening to this I was kinda hoping for the odd chuckle, but... It's kinda depressing. From Bothell the stand point of the ex-con being confused and lost, but also how we, as a society, have kinda lost a lot too. The ex-con talking about the park being completely empty was kinda heartbreaking.

I wonder why America doesn't have any decent reintegration programs for people who have been in prison for a long time. I mean, what kind of job could someone who has been in prison for, say, 30 years work in? Without an understanding of modern technology or the Internet, even work on the farm has now become electrified

I wasn't in prison but I was in the military and spent big stretches of time deployed overseas is other countries backyards. Getting back to the states after years gone I would feel out of place and a bit like I time traveled because of the changes that had occurred culturally. All the movies and TV shows that were now part of the language and landscape but had gone unknown to me. New songs, singers, and groups. In 1990 I came backmto the states with family members exclaiming I had to try the new Super Nintendo, that is was so much better than the regular Nintendo. I could only ask, What's a Nintendo? Another time I came back to find my whole state had become smoking free in public spaces like restaurants and such, which was great since I've always been a militant anti-smoker. It doesn't take long to fall out of touch with things.

Lego now spends most of its money on licenses so that you can make sets for well-known films and series that you then sell at a ridiculously high price. However, other block manufacturers now offer creative building and the irony is that some of them offer significantly better quality and quantity and for a fraction of the money. For $100 I can get either a Millennium Falcon set or four pounds of assorted clamp building blocks from a non-Lego supplier

When it comes to the people who feel like digging on in use due to being 40. I feel like going in on me is I’m 10 years they’re June you’re seeing as I’m only 30 and I feel the same way as these people who are saying that they’re 40 goodness help us in another 30 years where I’m in my 60s 20 years older than them and they’re in the 70s then all the fuss will really be feeling it I realize all these things up if you have things that nothing like they were in the 90s you can use the 2000s because I can’t remember the early half of the 90s why do women’s lower half baked most of the life but most of it the fence, 93 baby so can’t remember anything prior and have to give me a few more years after birth so I do remember the late 90s OK hey Siri list the last two years of the 90s Oldman by remember 98 and 99 and even then it changed a lot between the 2000s and out like in the past 24 years so from New Year’s of 2000 to boat now things have changed significantly so I can imagine if you call three Fox difficult our target how that could be a shock specially if you were incarcerated in the late 90s early 2000s and he didn’t get out until the 2000 or even just getting out at the craziness that it might seem this world has back home
