We’ve just got this machine and wanted to know how to get the perfect pint..Both the Hubby and I loved your video!! Funny guy with cracking tips!! Thanks!
Anyone know if there are plans to do kegs of Madri, ? had a couple of bottles of the stuff and found it bland, but its totally different on draught and its lovely.
Hi Any idea why my PD isn't pouring properly, it pours as a little thin line with very little or no gas. I changed to a new keg and still no joy. Thanks
Swapping to a different keg half way through. How long will the kegs hold up. I seem to remember reading that the swapped keg still needs a tap on it. Not tried it yet, looks as though you have though.
Tried to use your link mate for the pro but never worked says expired, but brought one now it’s arrived, takes ages cool, and this is my second pint of Stella at 2c and hardly any throth now
I think they've started to limit the usage mate, sorry about that. Always put a keg in overnight to help with the cooling speed! Also a nucleated glass will help with the head if you're not using one?
I always keep a few chilling in the fridge. What a difference this makes, no waiting ages for the perfect temp. I've had a few lively ones, I will need to check that my hose hasn't got a twist in it. I hadn't thought to check this👍
literally just got the waist expander aka the perfect draft and watched this video thanks for the video i have learnt some great tips keep the videos coming
Great vid and tips, had my machine delivered yesterday, together with a keg of Tiny Rebels Cali Pale Ale, had an issue after I loaded it all up, with the machine pulsing, so opened it back up and reset the keg and was then fine, its been at 3 degrees for a couple of hours and just poured the first pint, lovely, but I think its a bit to cold which is spoiling the taste, first pint off though so things can only get better, as the song goes lol
Lol i got my my machine and two kegs of hawkstone today. Eager beavered it and poured myself a few pints at 16 c. I wondered why they sent a mr whippy machine instead of my perfect draft. 😂
It shouldn't be constant. Most probably the tap isn't connected to the keg properly. Take the keg out, take off the handle and connect it again. You do need to push it down with force so the blue buttons pop out. Resit the keg and you should be good! 👍🍻
@@BigBaldReviews I see. Much appreciated. I was looking frantically for it for the savings on x, y or z OFF when you get 4 kegs. Still couldn't see that on PerfectDraft site - is that kinda deal still going on?
Having a few mates over this weekend and so I like the idea of having 2 different kegs on the go at once. I’m wondering though, when swapping back and forth is there much delay in pouring time? i.e will I have to wait another 45 mins for machine to read temp etc each time I swap? I just bought my machine last weekend so I’m still a novice. Great tips in the vid btw 👏👏
You'll be fine swapping them over, just put the one your swapping out into the fridge and it'll be down to temp again in no time. And even if it's not to be honest, you'll be fine 👍 have a top time! 👍🍺🍻
Regarding the kink :) (by the way, funny video)... is kink not appearing after some time because this is how beer flow is stopped (by squeezing the tube)?
Cheers! It certainly is fella! That's why there's always kink when you remove it after use! As you say, this is how it stops the flow. Worth a check of that pipe beforehand though, seen some dodgy ones and beer can go everywhere! 👍🍻
Hi just took delivery of the perfect draft machine after being on the waiting list with beer hawk the plan is to have two as soon as my pub is finished 🍻
When you tap the keg you get 30 days to use it. That counter should reset to 30 when you load the keg. That sometimes doesn't happen if you switch the machine off though. If the machines on when you take out the old keg and put the new one in, it should go up to 30 days. This counter isn't related to the best before date on the keg.
Brilliant thank you! I used a stella keg then turned the machine off for a month before I used another so thats probably why its a little out. Thank you mate!
Not if you keep kegs in the fridge, outside (cold weather), then it's just however long it takes for it to get down to 3-4 degrees. I've bought a Subcold fridge that can be set as low as 0 degrees, so kegs can come out of that and be straight in at a temperature ready to go 👍🍻
Amazing tips there, Mr Baldy. I am 100% getting a perfect draft pro when I can afford one. One thing I noticed in your video. When you put s keg in your fridge, I noticed you put on its side rather than stand it upright. Are you allowed to do that? Because I am sure I read on beer hawk that you have to stand them upright all the time when you store them.
Cheers! I'm sure you'll enjoy! I've read that also, but I've always put it on its side and its always been fine. It's still in the machine a while allowing it to settle 👍🍻
Hey thank for the tips man,Just got my PD two days ago, used the machine in the evening, then without thinking , turned the plug off when I went to bed, then on again next morning. Must have subconsciously be thinking about saving electricity. But is this a big no no or not. Just thinking from a scientific point of view, the fluctuation from 3 to 9 (at the time) then back down to 3, would this affect the taste. So yea ,just wondered are we leaving it powered on like a normal fridge. 🤷🏻♂️Do they use my electricity ? I haven’t got Facebook otherwise I’d check that forum so would appreciate your reply. Cheers man 🍻
No worries! I leave mine turned on whenever there is a keg in it. The extra wattage that it takes to get the keg down to temperature each time probably equals what it takes just to keep it running. It's not a massively powerful cooling unit so probably about equal to a camping fridge. I don't think the change in temperature will affect the beer too much as it probably didn't change that much overnight, sure that will be fine fella. I have done a cost comparison on my website and used the wattage calculation to figure out the running of the machine. Just search for big Bald Reviews in Google. Hope that helps fella. The only other thing you can check (as you've tried reseating the keg and reattaching the tap) is that there isn't any ice under your keg between the keg and the metal plate. Worth a look. Could also be a dud keg? That is a possibility. Good luck with it! Hope you get it sorted! 👍🍻
