My situation: I'm a rising senior, transferred to online homeschool mid-sophmore year. My extenuating circumstances are quite unique, but I don't think it excuses the fact I have no EC's besides coding, reading, writing and running an online business since 2021. My course is a mixed bag of pre college, prep, and AP's (APs listed down below): AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, AP English Literature & Composition, AP Enviromental Science, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, Ap Physics 1, Ap Pyscology. I'm taking my SAT around October-November, and even though I have 2-3 months to study and get a good score...I don't think I'll be applying anywhere. Mainly because, I'm not ready, and have no outstanding passions, and a Gap Year could help me flesh that out. Jobs, competitions related to fields of interest, internships, and a form of income. I want the best chance at a scholarship because my family is the opposite of affluent (related to my extenuating circumstances), but more importantly I want my best shot at being ME. I could always apply somewhere, and change my major, but the related-debt is a risk I'm not willing to take. So, the plan I'm looking at right now involves reaching my intended score for the SAT, taking a gap year to flesh out myself and college apps, starting off at a two year to save money, hone down my major and get credits, then transferring over to a mid/high-tier uni. (Work in progress, my focus isn't on the T20's.) I was just looking for practical, honest advice. Do I have a chance at a scholarship?
