    The Bedouin apparatus briefly depicted here is more like the "PumpJack" that is still ubiquitous in the modern Petroleum industry. Nonetheless, I went with the more evocative lingo; for obvious reasons.
    I've often thought it would be an interesting study to determine where all the old Bedouin wells were. Where they were & what became of them. Perhaps some were left intact.
    Because, of course, many major cities have been built up in those regions since the turn of last century.
    In particular, it would be interesting to know where those wells were in relation to all the #development that occurred later.
    #BTW, I used the term, "old," but those would still have been "Modern" wells, really, in the philosophical sense. Even if they were, in fact, the first wells identified in those [desert] regions.
