There is a strategy that seems to be missed when using Tressa Runelord - Transfer Rune - Sidestep. If you happen to have any extra Transfer Rune on Tressa be sure to use Ice Rune to give your entire party the ability to deal ice damage chipping the bosses shield much faster. Extra note. With Surpassing Power on your Scholar / Sorcerer, you can deal more than 9999 damage just with the Ice Rune's Buff from Tressa. I've tested it on Cyrus/Merchant and if you properly equip him with the best Elem Atk. Weapons. He can certainly deal past that 9999 damage. Step 1: Feed your party with 6 to 9 Side Step Buffs from Tressa - Transfer Rune - Sidestep Method. Step 2: Get Winnehild's Shield Broken Step 3: Make sure Tressa has at least one or more Transfer Rune Buff. Step 4: With any Character give Tressa Energizing Pomegranate (L) to Massively Restore her BP. Step 4: Have Tressa safely use her Ice Rune MAX Buff on the entire party. With Ice Rune on every party member, they're allowed to deal extra weakness damage, and chip the shield down faster than before. There is barely any preperation prior to the battle. As long as you maintain your Tressa- Transfer Rune - Sidestep - Ice Rune, dodging every attack, and being able to buff every character with Ice Elemental Damage weakening the boss further. I used Cyrus/Merchant, Olberic/Apothecary, Ophilia/Dancer and Tressa/Runelord. To easily beat Winnehild, Just make sure you equip the best gear possible for each character. Now you could use anyone and give them the Sorcerer/Scholar/Cleric Subclass and use Tressa / Runelored for more shield chipping, and stick to the plan and Transfer Rune - SIdestep then ever so often give everyone the Ice Rune buff. I was using the same setup but instead of olberic, I had merchant haanit Just use rune transfert with tressa turn 1, wind rune turn 2 and then sidestep turn 3 with max boost (use haanit to get boost points) and then repeat this Spam the elemental reduction with Cyrus and enjoy your 9999 damages every time Ophilia or Cyrus land an attack (and hits twice the boss' weakness)
I did bagolar without h'aanit. I used Cyrus with dancer job lvl 61 The thief with hunter job lvl 62 The alch with merchant job lvl 62 The merchant with warrior lvl 31 The merchant spam side step with the alch guy both with passive skill to protect allies, also when I got at least 4 side steps in each of them I started to distribute BP to the main dps the thief, he + arrowstorm to break defense + the axe from alch guy can break the boss defenses in two turns maybe one. With his divine + 9999 break + lion dance + armor corrosion + speed buff = easy 27k DMG do it 7 times + merchant skill hire allies and pay for the 30k soldier he does 9999 DMG if the enemy got his defenses broke Sorry if it got confuse because I'm really bad at memorize the name of the skills, characters and so on as you can see through my reply Now I'll try this boss and then maybe the final boss
This is one of the few times I actually feel like getting a tutorial for a boss, I’ve been pushing level 65 with ordinary equipment but Im still didn’t get any luck. It seems I’ll have to try other special classes first.
No need special classes. Just use olbering. just spam Incite + side step to him And use saving grace to keep him over healed. . And use cyrus for breaking the shield
I beat this advanced job class before any of the other jobs. Strat: Therion with hunter: just spam Leghold Trap and Shackle foe. Olberic with Apothecary. Spam Incite and Sturdy, then Poison whenever you have a free turn. Or use the apothecary heal as needed. Ophelia with Dancer. Just buff Cyrus mATK, or Olberic pDEF, and give Cyrus Aulfric. Cyrus: Just spam spells
My go-to strategy is killing everything with Thunder Brand, but I just tried this boss, I attacked her twice with Thunder Brand twice, and I missed both times I immediately said "fuck it" and looked for a guide, thinking I would find she always dodges certain attacks but no, maybe my build turns my warrior into Darkness from Konosuba or maybe my luck is trash

Seriously WITHOUT using the Rune abilities is their ANY way I can kill this guy with only Sorcerer unlocked?! Please God I need to be able to beat this guy
you can use olberic, just give him as much HP and physical defense as possible, take Alfyn or Tressa/any Merchant with you for the BP and use his talent "Bolster Defense", except for the AoE attacks (spear and Divine I think) he should soak up most of the damage. Use the sorcerer to break her and buff him/her with Aelfric's Auspices if possible and of course take a Hunter with you for that guuuuud leghold trap. Thief is also great because of shackle foe. A good setup would be: Olberic as apothecary for the bulk, therion as a hunter for the debuffs, Alfyn as a cleric for double skills and BP and the sorcerer of your choice. The only thing you really have to look out for is to break her before she casts her divine or else everything is lost
@@dasboot1362 As desperate as I sound here (believe me I was haha) I actually beat her in like an hour after this post haha. So thanks for the advice. What I ended up using was Prim as a Cleric for....well healing (but also Sealtiges Seduction into Mole dances), Olberic was the hunter casting Leghold Traps and Incites so as to soak up her damage as you say, I actually made Therion a Warrior and he ended up being my second line of defense actually but in a different way than Olberic so I used Incite with him as well. His defense wasnt much to wag a finger at but I buffed his evasion stats so damn much the majority of Winnehelds attacks didnt even make contact. Between him and Olberic I had a good distraction for the Warbringer to wage on haha. Lastly I had my man Cyrus as Sorcerer and with Prim gracing him with double attacks Winneheld couldnt attack for longer than a second for most of the rounds! I basically outlasted her by using Cyrus as my main damage Breaker and damage DEALER. Combine that with any fully charged divine arts I could afford to use with my two warriors and it was just a matter of time before she fell. Thanks for the advice tho I would have likely gone with it had I not figured it out myself
For other people listening I killed it with just sorcerer by using cleric special ability to allow sorcerer to attack twice which will allow you to break the boss indefinitely with 6 frost and fire attacks. Also use hunters leg trap so that the sorcerer can break the boss before the boss attacks.
It might be, depending on your tactics, but it will be extremely difficult regardless of level and gear. But having a Runelord Tressa is almost like a cheat. I managed to defeat her at Lv 45 without taking any damage at all.
