In the the top 5 sets of all time. He's the master of style. This set inspired so many of the styles that you hear today. Great to hear a set with real musical bounce and composition !
WOW! i just looked at how many people have seen this vid! Its AWESOME! Craze is the man. "I dont care what you like. Drum and bass RnB or hip hop. Its all street music" Go on craze!!!
As if I wasn't impressed enough already, the drop at 5:55 literally made my jaw drop and I stayed in shock until the end. A lot of the comments have called him an artist, and I couldn't agree more. He's creating something that is uniquely him and expressing it in a way that only he could. That's art whether the end product is better or worse than other art. I think too many DJs forget that expressing themselves is more important than flawless technique.
@elspoko That is a very good observation. I am an old enough to remember when DMC first started. Each and everyone of the DMC champions, maybe with the exception of Rock Steady DJ and QBert/MM, all pretty much did the same thing - show they can juggle and body tricks, diss, scratch and sometimes gimmick. This changed when Craze arrive on the scene. He did everything - juggle, body tricks, scratch, diss BUT he added composition. He was a musician performing on the stage.
i was there that night it was fucking crazy, the vibe in that spot was nuts. he killed it. Tony Vegas's routine was sick too cause the sound system in the Hammerstein is amazing/
The reason Craze is so fucking amazing is becuase he's on point. He keeps the rhythm going. A lot of DJs just scratch shit up, juggle, and trick without actually making any sense. You get a lot of cross noise that just sounds all kinds of fucked up. Craze is like a metronome. He stays on it.
i totally feel you man. i wasnt there, but craze inspired me to become a tablist, i started in 2003 in toronto, when dopey was running shit, and just when i started to excel and won 2007 Toronto DMC, serato had to killl shit. but yeah i wish DMC was still legit,
What's the small white sticker near the outside edge of the record for? Do you drop the needle on the inside of the sticker and it drops you into the correct groove?
@cigarbong exactly it was just 2 of the same records scratching. Then Craze put out crazee muzik . It changed everything . He can do house,hip-hop , breaks , jungle, drum n bass, and makes whole new songs. I have seen craze countless times . He started composing records not just scratching
@jimthebane It's off of DJ Q-Bert's "Wave Twisters". If you're looking specifically for the exact part, it's called "Razorbalde Alcohol Slide". It's a classic record. I have duplicates of it.
I was at this battle , you had to be there to get the full effect , of just how bad this man is, destroys everything he touches , to bad turn tablists are a dying breed, this is real skill

At 2:06 it sounds like he's working with the same track on both TT's but the records look different (one's red, one's white.) What's up with that?
