People are really excited about the ability to add a product shot into multiple AI-generated backgrounds. Fact is though, you need your product professionally lit and shot against pure white as step 1, before taking it to AI for background addition. You also need a very accurate clipping path done with refined edge hardness by a pro, to remove the white background. Only THEN can you look at generated AI backgrounds.
The use is much more limited than people think - and at least one pro product shot is needed first, plus it will only work against backgrounds of a similar lighting style (eg: the above 'on white' product example won't work when placed in a darker, moodier background environment). AI tools are great for socials, but the quality doesn't stand up in print or even large digital format for things like an LCD display in a retail setting. In time I'm sure it will though. 🙂

@@eCommerceImages I agree with a lot of this! AI will not give you professional results unless you’re a professional using AI 👏🏼

I create a background 1st in AI then once I like the look and style, I then enhanced the image in magnific, I then refrence the image and replicate the lighting style, angle and DOF. and then merge the files together in photoshop, then it's worth re enhacing that image merged again and brush through sections from the original to help the blend. Yes it's not as good as building a set or heading to a location as such and you are restricted and limited atm, but for smaller budget jobs such as kickstarters etc it works, also a very good or use to sell in storyboard for bigger budgets.

If you put in week prompts you're going to get weak results.

For Dall E 2, a generative ai model for images, you can control variance by utilizing seed so one can essentially generate the same background every time if needed.

I am a self-taught career changer as a product designer. Some of the graphics in here have limited usability. Firstly, the background generation effect is unstable and prone to unreasonable errors. Secondly, the background lacks details. Thirdly, the angles of the products are quite demanding. If the angles are random, it can lead to incorrect perspective relationships. Additionally, it cannot have an impact on the product's own lighting and shadows. The lighting and shadows on the ground also appear artificial, but these can be corrected in software like Photoshop. However, in that case, it's better to manually composite images sourced from the internet. The traditional workflow is more stable. Nevertheless, I believe that relevant software will become more mature in the coming year.

I absolutely agree with you on every point! The potential is there however, nothing is well enough to pass as a professionals work. The new Adobe Photoshop Beta and it’s generative fill tool is the best option for photographers looking to integrate AI into their workflow.

Are there any places you can recommend to get raw files to practice with? i want to see how well ai works with product photography but I do not have lighting or a space to set up a a studio to shoot product stills. i work as a photo retoucher so I am only trying to learn how to manipulate files provided to me using this software.

Thanks for the honest feedback! We can definitely improve our Bathroom theme, and using our custom descriptions should generate better images.
Also, FWIW, we don't think Pebblely is going to replace photographers. We want to empower people to be more creative and to create using AI. We do have several customers who are photographers :)

Excellent video! I think we can use AI to help in the creative process but until we can give consistency in the images when using it, it can only augment what we do as product photographers.

I really like your viewpoint! I think this where Adobe’s new Photoshop features are going to be a game changer. It’s important for us photographers to have full control down the little details! The concept of these AI websites is cool but until they can produce more consistent results, it will be difficult for professionals to use them in their business.
