It is truly special that someone of Frank's stature and ability is willing to give such a basic lesson to anyone with ears willing to listen. His patience is virtuous. Jazz has a problem of being unapproachable for some due to it's being perceived as overly complex. Frank is breaking down that barrier here! His lessons are invaluable for beginners all the way to advanced players. Thank you, Frank!
You are adding to your legacy by disseminating guitar knowledge gratis, to those of us willing to learn. .but cannot commit to scheduled nor paid lessons. Many of your fans who respond here, are very grateful. Thank you.
I have working as a full and part -time guitar and bass man on and off all my life. Doing folk, bluegrass, blues, rock, pop, country, top forty and even amateur's classical gigs. But I am retired from real life now, and my guitar bucket list has always been 20 of my fav jazz tunes. A steep learning curve. Like brutal. Made me doubt my being able to do that in the time I have left on the planet. I think this is the best beginner teaching session on jazz guitar I have ever seen. I know where I am going to be spending my extra time outside my studio work for a bit! May be I will fill that bucket yet!
Hey Frank check out the Adelaide Guitar Festival Australia. I’ve told Jimmy B about it. It would be awesome to have you do one of your guitar nights at something like that. With Jimmy. And then have a holiday , visit the wineries. Do some gigs.
