I kinda like the squad/platoon commanding elements they sprinkled into the gameplay here. It's something COD/Battlefield campaigns dip their toes into every now and then but never really flesh out. I reckon a more detailed small unit fire-and-manoeuvre mechanic could actually be pretty satisfying if done well.

It reminded me of a "Brothers in Arms" that partially was responsible to get me to enlist in the military way back when.(I guess these all are glorified recruitment tools to hook unsuspecting kids with insane expectations lol.)

They make up for the AI being weak by forcing you down time limit rabbit holes to add excitement , like they always have. So not much change over the years..just graphics. Story line is always great, and it was.

When I was playing this level I was making sure not to die and when the morning part happened I was reloading and kept pressing square I thought it made me reload fast but it didn’t so when a bayonet was charging to me it killed me and I fell onto my chair
Obviously the drop scene was copied from the “Overlord” movie. I’m not sure if 3rd Parachute Brigade's 9th Parachute Battalion ran into such heavy flak at Merville. Gameplay wise it looks like they got some idea from “MOH”.
It's accurate for the most part to be convincing for most people despite any "terrible inaccuracies" you think there are there. What's most important is to have a great compelling story, which it does.
@@Gadget-Walkmen why do the paras have reserve chutes, why is the leader guy warring a white woollen jumper, what is keeping his beret on his shoulder, why is he warring an America in first aid pouch on his sleeve? Not to mention tactical inaccuracies. A lot of elements can be overlooked to make it a great game but damn it infuriating for the well informed amount you.
@@mattmagee180 any “tactical inaccuracies” can easily be overlooked as it’s a game so their not going to realistically engage in warfare as tactics are played off as run and gun shooter ALOT for the time. What’s keeping a beret on his shoulder is video games physics, that’s what. That should be obvious. For some of the other stuff you said, yeah they can be an issue but for the overall LOOK of it all as they’re easy to overlook as most people won’t catch on to them for those precise detail for the most part entirely unless your a history buff.

I've worked in museums and now take my personal collection into schools and other organisations and deliver talks on subjects like this. A lot of miss information spawns from game's like this.
Idk why but when you fire an mp40 inside a house it sounds like you’re firing an actual firearm but when you fire it outside its like you’re firing an airsoft gun. At least thats how i hear it.
Well,guns as a rule are *much* louder inside(try firing a pistol inside without ear protection and see how long your ears are ringing). Outside the soundwaves will diffuse into the elements far easier even if your weapon is not suppressed it will be significantly less louder. Funny story ,I once negligent discharged a pistol loaded with blank exercise rounds inside a car. Suffice to say,I heard nothing but ringing for a while lol. Never did that again.
