Throat nodules are something lots of singers get. Probably because she was singing too much especially using her gritty, growly dynamic. Hopefully, rest will cure it. Sometimes, surgery is needed. In any event, I totally agree with you that she is special and the love she gives through her voice helps the world be a better place, and we certainly need it! I will pray for her recovery!

One differentiator with Elvis is that when he sings "I can't help falling in love with you" you can really feel that he means "I can't help falling in love with you" throughout the song. You can see that sincerity (though it is of course an act) through his facial and bodily expression -- from the song's beginning to the very end. You are caught in his hypnotic spell. Hope singers of today can bring that level of performance, going beyond the singing and technique.

Also good he had a tv special concert ( combination of two filmed concerts on his tour only 2 months before his death. Elvis 99% of the time included 1-2 gospel songs in his live shows so he definitely was not ashamed of the Lord. By God’s grace I believe he is in heaven.
