Installing the new 14x12 Yardistry gazebo mosquito net. I purchased this from Costco for just under $300. It's a new product, released in August, 2018.
I am so glad to run into this video. I did not know about this company and your instructions. Just a small point when doing videos, slow your video movements, you can get dizzy just trying to follow the camera. Truly appreciate your time.
We have exact pavilion with screens. I need to take my screens down and wash them in the bathtub. My pavilion has been up 4 summers...We love it so much. We live out there in summer and we put clear vinyl panels up for cold weather. We hung them on outside and it enclosed the whole pavilion. We also built a short roof to meet the pavilion so we do not get rained on when going from sliding door to pavilion.
Thanks for describing the installation of the soffit material. The included instructions were very poor on that score and no other videos were as informative as this one. Yardistry should be paying you for this as far as I'm concerned. Well done Jeff and thank-you for preparing this.
I just ordered this net but I was planning on mounting a tv bracket on one of the beans, but I’m now realizing the net would be in the way and prevent me from doing that huh
Jeff...there is a gap (1:21 and 1:22 of video) on top between the soffit netting and gazebo....Is it installed incorrectly, or is this just a design flaw ? Plenty of room for critters to fly through ...Thanks...
You know, it's funny... I didn't realize the gap existed until I was editing the video and I crawled back up there on my ladder afterwards to look. It doesn't look like that with the human eye... I couldn't really see any light coming through but to be sure, I added a few more tacks. It's definitely installed correctly though... and works well. I spent a lot of time in there last summer (just starting again this year) and rarely saw a mosquito in there with me. Thanks.
I'm looking at this kit for my grand gazebo. Looking at the instructions online, it doesn't show that top part you had(separate from the netting) to cover that gave at the roof. Did y ou get that somewhere or it came with your kit?
@@JeffKastner that's what I was afraid of. Looked at the Q&A on Yardistry site and it seems they are no longer including that in the kit.. didn't make sense.. 😅
Curtains go on the inside. No great way around that since the rods can really only be hung on the inside, but.. I can tell you I was hoping to mount them on the outside for space and after getting them up, space isn't really an issue. We only ever close 1 curtain at a time (wherever the sun is shining) and that being the case, it still feels very open and large inside.
Thank you for your assessment, especially about the wind. One question if I could...will this screen help shade the interior of the gazebo? If not, can I add a less see through material to one side of the gazebo to add more shade? Hate to do that here in S W Washington - but it does get hot under that metal roof, we have already added a fan and it is super great but the afternoon sun is also hot. Thank You for your help
Unfortunately, it doesn't do much for shade. I ordered 2 long rods and curtains off of Amazon last year. It's made a great difference. The sun was baking us. Now, we just pull the curtains closed and even w/ the metal roof, it's not too bad. We also have a pull-down movie screen. I'm still going to add a mounted fan (or 2) this spring though!.
Just found your video - this is great. Do you know the height of the screen? Thinking of retro fitting this screen to our porch. The length and width are great but I need to make sure it could cover the 89" height.
Hi Jeff, I may purchase the 10x10 Meridan which Yardistry doesn't sell with netting. Do you think the track on the 14x12 would be easy to cut? I would have some extra netting on the ends but could tack to the posts.
I couldn't remember so just ran out and looked. It's just made of plastic so a miter/table saw would make a nice straight cut and blow through it like butter.
It's a 14 long x 12 wide... made specifically for the 14x12 gazebo that Yardistry makes. Odd that it's not playing for you. I have 3 different cell phones in my house and 4 computers and it plays on all (tested on 2 computers and my cell phone again just now to be sure). I guess there's a codec that was used when I spliced it together that you don't have on whatever device you're playing it on. Sorry about that!
I'm in the final stages of installing my 12x12 gazebo. I also purchased the mosquito netting for the gazebo. I'm wondering your opinion on mounting the rail/ track on the outside of the beam so the net would be around the posts instead of behind (on the inside)? I've read reviews and there seems to be a common theme of the net "blowing in". I thought having the net on the outside of the beam would allow for the posts to act as a support for the net. Besides the look/visual of the track on the outside do you have any other thoughts on this? Just wanted to check with you as I move forward with my plans.
I'm curious if it works for you? I just moved this summer so I no longer have this... left the new deck and net for the new owners, but I seem to recall that it might not be large enough to fit around the posts and still zip? Did you move forward and do it yet? If it does fit, it actually sounds like a great idea.
@@JeffKastner I didn't attempt it. Luckily I emailed the company and they confirmed it would not fit on the outside. There isn't enough material to do that. Thanks for getting back to me on this.
Extremely. We had a lot of mosquitoes in our yard... and I rarely ever seen one get past the net. We watched several movies during sunset, into the dark (the prime mosquito hours). Couldn't have been happier with how effective it was.
Do you think if I have a covered patio with the same dimensions I could use this kit and just mount the rails to the side walls? thanks for your opinion!
I never had any dust in the area to test this, but I will say it's a thick mosquito net, and it would probably limit the amount of dust coming in.. . but if it was really dusty, it wouldn't stop it. I have since moved and don't have this anymore and bought a cheap, small net for a small gazebo at my new house (just to cover a hot tub) and I can say I really miss the net in this video! It's the only thick netting I've ever seen for something like this... but that's also reflected in the price.
Mine did not come with it either. Just received yesterday and put it up last night. I bought the kit from Costco. com, for $299. Jeff, where did you buy your kit from?
I called them, they are no longer sending the soffit kit. They stated that studies have been done and mosquitoes are not going to fly up and back down. They are attracted to the CO² and they are not observed to fly that high just to get to you. So, no more soffit kits.
I have a good idea. How about you clean the mess in that yard. That would be the debris all over the yard that is on the floor. That gazebo is so nice it is sad to see it next to a chicken coop. Pay attention to details. That's what makes it stand out. otherwise it usually looks like a junkyard. Goodluck

We just bought another one for the new house we live in. Sitting in the garage right now but looking forward to getting it up again. Love this unit.
That looks awesome. It's a shame you didn't hide the piping by putting it to the other side

Thanks, Patrick! Glad it helped!
@patrickhelbig6646 I love this company. Would definitely recommend this companies products..
Looks awesome…🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👍👍
Closest video i found. I dont know how else to search for it
Thanks Jeff, very helpful!
Hooray! Glad it helped someone. :) All the best!

You had so many pan head screws left because you're supposed to use them with the raised washers for the tie-back straps.
It’s awesome idea and good job too
Can you tell me plz what is the name of this net and from where I can get it ?
Thx
It's the 'Yardistry Gazebo Mosquito Mesh Kit' and you'll find it on Costco's website. (currently $279).

Question, if you add curtains with the mosquito netting will the curtains be on the inside or outside of the mosquito netting?!? Thanks Much!

it looks like yardistry also makes a wooden privacy wall you can install now if your looking for shade
I added a crank down shade from Lowe’s for the sun block. Works well! 12’ was the largest I could find

Missed your comment when you left it. I'll check if you still need this info? Let me know and I'll reply in the next couple days.
nice man , two tracks? Do they sell a privacy curtain?
Nope. I got curtain rods and curtains off of Amazon for this exact purpose and works great!
what are the lengths of the tracks, I plan on buying this and also some custom tracks to hang privacy curtains?

How well does it work to block out winds? Thx
Hi Jeff. Does 14 means width and 12 means height? and all the 4panels are same size or dimensions? The video is not playing, by the way. Thank you!

Hi there!! We have the bulb lights and just have them wrapped around the top. Would we still be able to do that once this is installed? Thanks!!
I don't think you'd have any problem. That material is pretty stretchy. Just leave the lights up and it should fit right over them just fine.
Was it effective at all for keeping the mosquitoes out ?
Extremely. We had a lot of mosquitoes in our yard... and I rarely ever seen one get past the net. We watched several movies during sunset, into the dark (the prime mosquito hours). Couldn't have been happier with how effective it was.

Is the dust comes inside the mosquito net?

@@SundarKothandaraman Oh yeah... I had lights all over it... even hanging in it. No problem at all!
Can you chickens sneak under the mosquito net?
No.. definitely not when it's closed. The dogs certainly do.. but it's a bit too heavy for the chickens to move up.
@@JeffKastner Thank you - This is good news. It is good to hear the net is mosquito-proof and chicken-proof. Thank you again.
Jeff where do you get the soft material, the one goes on top. I installed my mosquito nest, but it didn’t come with that . Please let me know

Had it up in about 90 minutes... Pretty easy after you get that first side up and see what's going on.
