Thank you for posting this video! We had a really bad Yellowjacket problem at my house (they built a nest in the foundation of the stairs inside of my house) and they even started to infiltrate my home. Sprayed this bad boy over the area of their nest and I haven’t seen one for days now. This product really works!
That’s a great product. I’ll need to try it. For those trying other methods, you always do it at at night when most are in the nest. There are some searchers still Out at night, but during the day, anything you spray won’t hit many as they are mostly out and about.
I used Tempo Dust, give it a google If you can find where the pests are entering/exiting, just put a good amount of it down so they walk thru it and carry into the hive, like the man says in this video. I had a nest in my exterior wall, no way I was rippin it apart, so for about $40 I got the dust and a duster, puffed a good amount into the holes they were using, and put a line across so they moved thru it, a day later I saw zero activity, and haven’t seen one since.
Thank you so much for this video! Two bottles of Raid couldn't get the job done because the nest was under the siding of my garage. I ordered a bottle of this stuff and after one application, the wasps were GONE!
This is very timely for me, I just got stung in bed by a yellow jacket and discovered they're nesting in the wall right by my bedroom. I just emptied a can of Raid where they fly into (but mostly missed initially), there's fewer flying around but don't know if I was really successful yet. I will definitely give this a go if not, thank you!
@@mikeerin5031 This is second floor outside in a hard to reach area, need something that I can spray from at least a few feet away, and also do NOT want to get close and get stung again.

I have them under a deck that is too low to the ground to access. A pest control guy suggested Delta Dust. It is a pheromone that they dislike. I puffed it in the cracks of the deck to keep them from coming up the spaces between the deck boards. It does seem to help, but they can just come up somewhere else because the nest is still there. I will be trying this method! It seems that it will work even if I don't hit the nest. That works for me since I can't see the nest! Fingers crossed!

I cant begin to thank you enough for posting this video. I have been battling these bees for 2-3 weeks. I tried everything "humane" using, vinegar/water, dawn dish soap/water, cucumber slices, citronella, I then tried gasoline soaked cotton balls, borax soap.. Last night I used this method you shared and this morning there I haven't seen any flying in or out and quite a few laying on the ground.
Thanks for your video! I have this problem with a very big log retaining wall. A couple of years ago, I paid a pest control company to come out and take care of it because I had no idea where the nest was. They charged me $250 for (literally) 2 minutes of puffing a white powder on the entrance. Everything was quiet for 2 years. But now they're in another hole about 7 feet away from the original one, and I'm going to puff some Tempo Dust in the entrance because the foam spray I initially tried did nothing. I'm hoping that will be the end of them for a while! I already had the Tempo Dust, and it's waterproof and great for yellowjackets. If it doesn't work, I'll get the Demand Duo.
That stuff worked great on a carpenter bee problem I had. After spending a couple of hundred $$ on a pest control service that was ineffective, Demand Duo did the job.
I just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the info. I had a nest in the block wall of my garage and nothing I did was taking care of it. I ended up buying the Demand Duo and within 3 days the nest is now just a handful of yellow jackets. I will be spraying again soon (and hopefully be able to spray IN the hole this time)
Hey Silver Cymbal, as someone who lives in the Northeast could you do a video on a good product that fills driveway cracks. Nothing huge, but the cracks that appear yearly due heating and cooling on asphalt?
Thanks for the suggestion. I was moving my lawn couple months ago and got attacked by ground hornets/wasps? Not sure but it really hurt. 3 stings. I dis some research and put on a full rain suit, ski mask, gloves and goggles. Taped the open areas and it was hot as he k inside that outfit. Anyway I approached it at night and poured a small amount of gas (yes I agree not really a good earth friendly thing to do) into the hole covered it with a rag and sprayed the area with wasp spray foam. Checked a couple days later and no wasps. The reason I did the gas was because I don't want my family or close by neighbors to be attacked. Going fwd if need be, I will try your solution
This worked for me, Thanks !. Had a nest behind the front door frame behind the brick. Sprayed the entrances and the next day there was only a couple. Then none. Then I sprayed again a week later to use up the solution i made. No more yellowjackets. Thumbs 👍
Omg I literally just sprayed a bunch in the side of my house and they kept coming back . Also I use tenacity because I saw it on your channel but it keeps bleaching my lawn . Am I doing something wrong ? Or it it normal ? Also is there any alternatives that don’t bleach good grass
Yellow jackets are a pain, I can't believe I have used this for years and never used it for hornet, this is so much easier. For Tenacity, usually excess bleaching may be that you are spraying a little too much OR make sure you don;t mow for 2 days before applying, the ends of the grass wont have time to heal and it allows tenacity to bleach it a bit more than usual, it looks weird but it wont usually hurt the grass, it just looks a little weird for 10 days or so. The weeds though will be gone
Love this channel...I'm in MA also...any tips for getting rid of Golden Digger Wasps? Every August they're digging numerous holes in my yard. They aren't aggressive, just a nuisance .
PERFECT timing! My girlfriend had a huge underground nest right in her front-yard. I tried the other youtube video suggestions (wasp spray, dish soap, etc.) before seeing this video last week and NONE of them worked. I got this stuff on Amazon and applied just about 20 oz of the mix, and a day later, they were all GONE!!! One question regarding mix ratio: The instructions say "Mix 1.1 fl oz of Demand Duo in 1 gallon of water (0.13% dilution)"... but when I do my math of 1.1 / 128 (oz in gallon), I get 0.8%. What am I missing / doing wrong?
If you need to avoid pesticides... the Tempo 1% dust used on my house in the wall for yellow jackets later put me in the hospital( low blood pressure, could not breathe)... through elimination we figured out what made me sick. Ants were bringing the old dust inside before dying. Try this instead. We had them entering a wall via an electrical outlet. Set up a shop vac at a distance (don't know if sounds bother the wasps). Put the extended nozzle near the outlet, taped on with duct tape. We used some drainage or pvc pipe. Run the vac near dusk when they return to the nest. We ran it quite awhile, over a period of days. No pesticides awaiting you in future, who knows who might open that wall...
I was just stung by a yellow jacket last month doing yard work. Those things are aggressive. I'm 44 and I was probably 10 years old last time I was stung.
Then do something about that! Host one of those lovely German Slap Dance events atop your underground wasp nest. Invite the politicians to dance, and the media to film it. Then fire those writhing politicians, unless you enjoy living under their thumb.
I can attest to the cost. I just paid $200 to have yellow jackets exterminated in my garage soffit. I used the raid and it works well for every bee it contacts but since I couldn't see the nest it failed. The exterminator used that powered dust which he pumped up into the soffit. Two days later not a yellow jacket in sight unless you count a few dead ones on the ground.
Had this exact situation. I tried the foam, sprays, everything, and I was shooting it as far into the stacked stone as I good = absolutely no effect. I ended up actually dismantling part of the wall, and found the nest behind the wall, and probably buried a foot into the soil behind that. The sprays weren't nearly reaching the nest itself. The hornets probably wiggled their way back in and laughed at me while I sprayed, and then just walked out a half day later, mocking me to their buddies. If this works as describes, it's a game changer.
@@Chris-me3vu this was several years ago. Like I said, I basically took the wall apart so I could reach the nest with conventional sprays and was able to take care of it.

Have you, or your children or pets ever been stung in the face or eyeball by a hornet? How about by a nest of them? When you've lost your eyesight to such an encounter, come back and ask the question.
I will tell you the magic bullet. Active ingredient is fipronil. Most of your ant sprays have this in it. It was no repellent property so it does not stir them up. I just did a bald face hornet nest last week. I sprayed the hole for about 5 Sec and the rest of the outside of the nest. With in about 4 hours every hornet was dead. I can’t stress enough to treat all bee nests at night it is much safer. Products that have that ingredient in it are like. Termidor sc. Taurus sc. fipro is a knock off but works just as well. And there is nothing better for ants. Silver cymbal is the best. Any questions on pest control just ask. Thx
Thumbs up for Demand Duo! I had a yellow jacket nest in the wall behind my electric meter. They were also getting into the basement. I spent a can of hornet and wasp spray at first to no avail, didn't even phase them. I ran into this video and treated the area around the electric meter and the space where they were climbing into behind the meter box with Demand Duo after dark. A few days later, no more activity, all gone! The only thing left were a lot of dead bodies in the basement to vacuum up.
THANK YOU!! I hate these yellow jackets! I have been stung one too many times. This is a very helpful video. I followed your link and bought DemandDuo Good bye yellow jackets! Thank you again!
if you want to be sure use one of these: amzn.to/49FYVoh Hang it from a nearby tree or posts. Its no chemical and the frogs and toads wont be able to get to it, but the yellow jackets will go right into it, Use them until the nest is finally exhausted.
Did post control and dealt with yellow jackets they do get very aggressive and can sting more than once, and if you do get stung a pheromone is released and you will become a moving target. I recommend either safety equipment or a professional service they will be able to deal with them safely.
What also works good is a little dishwashing detergent like Dawn liquid soap or Ajax mixed in with water.. just put a few squirts of it into a gallon it will work on fire ants and everything..
@@SilverCymbal I’ve used it for the ground dwelling beasties and it seems to be fairly effective. Definitely going to look into the spray product you showcased as we get these often enough. Thank you so much for your awesome info!!
Thanks. I have some of this one the way. The only issue I see is that the label on the bottle says it does not have "knock down power" so it would seem that while spraying the nest or filling the nest, the yellow jackets would come out and stink you.
Thank you for the nice words, its awesome that these guys started selling tiny sizes. They used to only have bottles that were $200 and if you are pro that's great to treat 500 houses but for regular people these are actually affordable.
Before you do this, check your local animal protection regulations. In some countries (like in Germany) wasps, yellow jackets and hornets are considered protected species and killing them or just destroying a nest can result in fines of up to 65,000 € Also if you just leave these animals alone, theyll do the same thing to you.
Yes, and Gestapo like these will also fine you for an unkempt front yard. Just ONE encounter with hornets will have you and anyone stung by these beasts giving the BOOT to those regulating and fining politicians who sit at their desks and live in their brownstones and have absolutely ZERO concepts about living on and maintaining a farm. Mowing gets you stung if you encounter a ground nest and do nothing about it in an area in which you live and your children play. String trimming around trees will get you stung if there's a hornet nest in them. I presume this never happened to you. Respectfully, Armin, you either own, maintain, and control your property, or you relinquish it to mice, flies, ticks, mosquitoes, carpenter ants, termites, wasps, hornets, et al. The people here are resolving problems that threaten them, their families, and the structures and surroundings in which they live. Politicians be damned. In most free nations, if enough people say no to unreasonable regulations, those regulations get changed. IF enough people possess the courage and desire to challenge and correct the elected, you will be able to mow your rural lawn without you and your family and livestock and pets risking agony and possibly death if one has an anaphylaxis reaction.
Yellow Jackets will invade your house and sting you for no reason. They are one of the most aggressive wasps. Normal wasps almost never sting unprovoked
Last year i had a hidden nest that i could not reach like yours. I've put 2 gallons of water in my shop vac, installed the vacuum tube very close to where they enter the nest. let it run for a few hours. I've emptied the hest this way, then i could open my garage door safely and get to the nest. It's also pretty satisfying to hear those little suckers smaking in the tube when they get caught.
Interesting. I use Demand Duo for regular insect control around the foundation. For ground bees, if they are not near the house the absolute best method is to wait till dark, take a mason jar, fill it about 2/3 with gasoline, pour it into the hole and then sit the jar upside down over the opening in the ground. The fumes sill wipe them out by morning. I've used this method on three huge underground bee infestations and it has been 100% effective.

My step-son dug up a yellow jacket next 2 weeks ago and it was HUGE. No way fire or sprays could get down in to it.
Is there any product that will allow me to kill the wasps/yellowjackets in my retaining wall but NOT hurt my toads and tree frogs?
if you want to be sure use one of these: amzn.to/49FYVoh Hang it from a nearby tree or posts. Its no chemical and the frogs and toads wont be able to get to it, but the yellow jackets will go right into it, Use them until the nest is finally exhausted.
Thank you! I'll give them a try! @@SilverCymbal
After watching this video, I bought some Demand Duo and it worked exactly as advertised.
Thank you very much for this great tip!
Is the main ingredient Diatomaceous earth?
No, I have used that with a duster for controlling some bugs but you would have to be right at the entrance to use it
@@SilverCymbal I’ve used it for the ground dwelling beasties and it seems to be fairly effective.
I tried 2 cans of raid. Neither of them worked. I tried this stuff and the next day no more bees. I love it. Thank you so much for this video.
Ran into several nests in my lifetime. Never heard of this stuff. I love this channel.
Thank you for the nice words, its awesome that these guys started selling tiny sizes. They used to only have bottles that were $200 and if you are pro that's great to treat 500 houses but for regular people these are actually affordable.
I have a bee nest close to the top of my roof. Does this product work with other kinds of bees?
Yes, it has a huge list of them but the most popular uses are carpenter bees, hornets, wasps, yellow jackets, ants and spiders
@@SilverCymbal great, thank you
Get a vac shop put water and dawn in the bottom, then put the hose next to the bee entrance and suck em up.
Can you use this to spray on plants to help eliminate yellow jackets without harm to the plants?
Do you have any tips for cockroaches?
Yes, this stuff is the best on the market, the reviews are off the charts: amzn.to/3AqWZyN

Thank you, battle on! Blessings!
Chemical warfare is always very effective.
Can I use this on my grass to kill the Insect?
А сколько мух они унечтожают 1000 штук и более. ..
Man vs his best ally against pests
Are they disappearing?
Before you do this, check your local animal protection regulations. In some countries (like in Germany) wasps, yellow jackets and hornets are considered protected species and killing them or just destroying a nest can result in fines of up to 65,000 €
Also if you just leave these animals alone, theyll do the same thing to you.
Luckily Germany never achieved it's plan of imposing it's rules on other countries..................
Use kerosene...and cover.
This technique works pretty good, especially if you add a little dish soap to break the surface tension of the water.
Hi
SC, you do it all!
wipe them out
Cool! Thanks!
Until lightning stikes and sets the ground on fire. DEFINITELY DON'T USE GASOLINE
Where can I find Demand Duo?
Right here: amzn.to/3AyoW7P
Steve Lav just did a video on this using a wet vac with soapy water in it.
I just watched it, that is too funny. The bugs are going nuts down our way right now, never seen this much activity.
@@SilverCymbal I'm on the north shore and we haven't seen any huge influx up here.
@@mrpanos923 Interesting, we are being slammed with mosquitoes, grasshoppers and yellow jackets are finally settling down. Lawn damage has been severe down here too.
