Marvin "Smitty" Smith's Rudimental Ritual (130bpm)

This transcription and video was made using Sibelius (www.sibelius.com) from Avid. The audio track was exported as MIDI from Sibelius and edited using Logic Pro X. The drum sounds are from Superior Drummer 3 (www.toontrack.com/product/sup...) by Toontrack and were selected because their crisp, fast attack makes it easier to hear the individual strokes. The final video was edited and exported from Adobe Premiere Pro.
This is a fully quantized performance, meaning that-by design-it lacks personality and is meant for learning purposes only. Also, the timing of the flams and drags should come very close to matching Karlheinz Miklin's performance at 155bpm. However, the other versions were made by re-rendering the MIDI tracks at increasingly slower tempos. This means that at 80bpm, the flams (in particular) don't sound very flammy. Please take that into consideration as you learn this piece.
