Thank you for going over drop rates!! The "it's the same drop rate" mentality drives me nuts! Drop table rates (rare or otherwise) are irrelevant because statistically there is so much more involved than "rune sword has same number as item". Have you accounted for the tens of thousands of other rng rolls your account has gone through? Also, "rdt item has 3x the drop rate of desired item I'm so unlucky"...yeah, and the chance of rune ore drop into steel bar drop into rune dagger drop (or any combination of regular drop table rolls) was 10x the drop rate of desired item, and yet you didn't blink. My personal "I can start complaining" rate is 3x, I feel like 2x happens often enough.
Hot take you can be super lucky as you go dry: on my uim i needed 3 huey hide for the master stash on my way there i did 419 trios where i got 1 pet 3 wands and 2 tomes. I finally got my first hide drop at 380kc (a 2 drop so i lost the coin flip) and a second one at 419(a 3 drop because lol). I got super lucky on valuable items that i didn't want or keep and went 4x dry with a lost coinflip on what i needed
Rex droptable is such a great example of the psychological trap. I once played a game with myself, If I'm going for osmumtens fang, wouldn't it be better to roll a lightbringer every time before I get the fang that I really want? Lets say I get fang on raid 30. Getting lb 29 times on all prior kc would be amazing, right? Obviously yes, but opening the purple chest, getting hopes up and feeling disappointed 29 times would still feel sucky to me and I can't help it 😅 It would feel like I was closer than not getting a purple even thought they're both equal to 0 fangs. Silly but hard to shake and can't say I'm a above it.
Another realisation about rng: most pets are probably lucky, well under drop rate or coin flip rate. That's because most global kc is under the droprate. Rare people even have enough kc to be on drop rate or even coin flip rate for a pet. Even fewer go past getting more. This is a bit of a tricky concept I think, individually you'll still have a 50/50 chance to have it by the coin flip rate but most people who already have it were spooned.

A big pet peave of mine is the berserker ring grind and the famous: it's the same droprate as bring". Obviously 50% of rex drop table is 1/128
