Cate and Rooney are mesmerizing to say the least. Undeniable chemistry.....
But, but first and foremost they are both excellent actresses.
And all the "rumors" swirling around them, to me, are just OUR own projections onto both of them.
Yes, yes, Rooney looks at Cate adoringly and what gives, who would not?! Cate is one of the best actresses of all times!
On the other hand, Cate also can't stop praising Rooney and rightfully so! Rooney is also beautiful and enigmatic!
I love them both very much.
And that is NOT to say that both could actually be bisexuals and then what?
Will Cate leave her husband for Rooney, I don't think so! She even mentioned once at an Award Ceremony how she was grateful to have found him! Besides they have a loving family to care for and Cate won't tear it apart no matter how she feels for Rooney.
And on the other hand, Rooney is a very very private person. How she truly feels for Cate, no one will ever know.
And that is ok.
At the end of the day, Love is love, no matter who you love.
But isn't the best kind of love the one that is ENDEARING because all you really want for the person you love is that she/ he is happy, whether she/ he belongs to you or not.
Loving someone is not about possessing the object of your desire. Truly loving someone ULTIMATELY wanting to see him or her HAPPY, whether or not we are the one making it happen.

People would embrace the fantasy or appearance of an off scene romance if actors were opposite genders. These two actors have chemistry that most straight couples don't. Grow up and deal with it. Even Cate has stated in an interview she fell in love with Rooney while filming Carol. Now does this mean they will do anything about it, NO of course not.But that does not ever stop anyone from falling in love on set. It happens ALL the time but most actors and actresses choice not to do anything about it. Some do, like Brad and Angelina and Eddie Cibrian and Leanne Rhimes. Which obviously became messy and still is.
I believe because of the film Carol, Cate and Rooney will forever have a special place in each others hearts ..I love the way they found each other in the crowd at the 2016 Golden Globes. They truly have AMAZING chemistry together.

You should have see that in the interviews. I think it is a way for her to enjoy these interviews, because it is probably a bit boring and exhausting repeating always the same answers to the same questions again and again during months for the promotion of the film.
Don't you guys think that maybe they are acting their "chemistry" ? They are actresses! And it is the promotion of the movie, the aim is to get people interested and look : it worked! You are all commenting about their "love" and that makes more views on the video.

You may or may not know these actors and actresses but ALL of them, fell in love with each other on the set of a movie and broke up their perceptive families and or relationships. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts and Daniel Moder, Leanne Rimes and Eddie Cibrian. Kristen Stewart and the producer guy of her movie.
There are many actors and actresses who DO fall in love on set but chose to leave their love for each other on set,

In my perfect world, I would stand here in front of you, clam, poised, remarkably confident, I would command your attention and deliver an introduction the way I imagine Cate would. Effortless, unpredictable, charming, disarmingly confident, perfect. However unfortunately I'm not Cate, I'm really just an awestruck superfan who was lucky enough to be asked here. So I'm going to make a very genuine attempt through my shaking voice to give her the honour she deserves.
I remember the first time I saw Cate I was 13 years old and I went to the local movie theater to see Elizabeth. I remember when she came on screen.
I can remember the feeling that washed over me seeing her, with her piercingly blue eyes and her alabaster skin
her ethereal grace and magnetism taking over the screen, even in her silence, even in her stare
it was one of the moments I knew for sure I wanted to be an actor but more than that it was the moment I knew I didn't just want to be an actor, I wanted to be an actor like Cate
from that day on I remember following her and watching her, being seduced over and over with each performance
each and every character distinct, wildly different from the next
I never knew what to expect from her, I could never predict a line or a feeling
I would go, looking for Cate Blanchett, but Cate Blanchett was never there
it was always someone else, someone new I had never seen before
I am often asked whose career do you admire or if you could choose an actress who has had the most influence on you who would it be
and I've always been very hesitant to vocalise THE ONE or commit to a person, and there's so many influences worth phonying (?) over

confronted with such a wickedly complicated character Cate had to be perversely disciplined and acutely aware of how deliberate and precise her choices had to be
and I walked out of the theater just buzzing with excitement and bursting with that same feeling I had when I was 13
that longing to be able to do what she does, even if just a fraction of it
and I was reminded that, no, women in film are as interesting and as complex as men, they can be so much more actually
I read once someone describing Queen Elizabeth as far too aware of her own exceptional nature to bout any man
and I feel like the same could be said about Cate herself: as we saw she once played a man, probably better than any man could have
Cate occupies this rarefied air, this cloud of real estate that's marvelled at from the ground by the rest of us
it's been my true joy and inspiration to look up at her, to try and attain some of that grace and fearlessness that she possesses
to try and bring it to my own life and to my own work

I love Cate more now after watching Carol..she is so lovely, stunning, intelligent, sexy, etc... she is just the whole package. Love her!
Where can I found this in a complete version? Don`t kill me but I just think that Cate is just a wonderful person, and she totally perceives how much Rooney adores her and so Blanchett besides the professional respect for Mara`s work, treats her in a special way too. They connect, like the way Cate also connect with Ian Mckellan for instance, Peter Jackson said they were not acting their scenes but loving each other, there are such respect and understanding between this actors that trascends in this cute way.

It is all so painfully obvious and has been from Cannes onwards when all the interviews started. They can't look at each other fully and sometimes are even awkward together. If you compare Blanchett & Mara interviews with the interviews of Julianne Moore and Ellen Page for the movie Freeheld..........you can very much see the difference!!!!! Blanchett seems to try to keep it together in these interviews and does a lot of blah blah-ing but sometimes loses her grip on it and reveals. Great performances from both in Carol!!! Love them.

We treat people as items but at least reach and famous can cope... Thanks for the upload you are a true fan Liz.Rooney's heart eyes can melt Cate.Body language speaks so much more and the energy between them is undeniable.Even Cate who usually brings herself well in any kind of situation got a little self conscious with Rooney's adorable stares.Rooney has that privilege to flaunt what she feels because she is young and not so many ties yet,but Cate with her great reputation, just cant freely express but you can catch her stares too in some photos of their events.So far all the Q&A's I've seen are on a more formal set up but this one reveals more of that strange intense,weird energy thats just too obvious.I hope Variety uploads their Screening Series of Carol soon,I think that one is also reveletory ;)

Did Cate cry before coming to this Q&A? Her eyes were quite sad, teary like she wanted to be with Rooney but she couldn’t make it happen at the moment. Or probably she was just in love with her at that moment.
I was actually thinking this was a joke, and i sure hope it is, but little by little i realise that i never saw so personal interviews like those Blanchett and Mara give this year and this makes me truly sad. I m totally in love with Blanchett since she was 30 years old she is the idol of my generation and a unique package, exquisite beauty (although she does not give a damn she can destroy her looks for the character if necessary) brains personality wit vulgar mouth (i looooove that!) and artistic integrity in order to make a point to this filthy planet. Now she is ageing of course but she still has it and what a ride it was for all of us!. Now i feel, i don't know, a bit strange. Great movie and acting by Cate & Rooney, All that is said about love and everything is right. But spare a thought for Harge in the film and similar characters in real life. I have not read the book but it is silent in the movie what wrong he had done to Carol. Even at the very start - Carol is flirting with Therese at the Store - so it seems by then it had all gone sour between Carol & him. Therese does not ask nor Carol volunteers to talk about Harge - if he was abusive or seeing other women, been a bad father etc. She does mention the boredom in her life having to be around him entertaining clients etc for Harge. Carol having an affection to women even before Harge makes us wonder if that was the reason for her boredom in her marriage again it is all silent in the movie but one can read between the lines and hence i would put this as a love story as well as something a little closer to a unfair deal for a husband who married the wrong woman ( that is seeking pleasure in women - nothing wrong in it by the way as in modern era they talk about equal rights and gay marriages are legal in some pars of the world and i fully support that etc), But is it really love only in here ?? - I do not think it is. It is lust, desire, and a lot of unfaithfulness by Carol to her husband Harge.
Besides the morality of the storyline - I love the screen play, the choice of actors, the music and and Rooney Mara is amazing not only when she expresses herself verbally but all the silent gestures, face reactions and her eyes are a long book of expressions. I loved her sister's (Kate Mara) role in House of Cards - Netflix TV series - the character Zoe Barnes - I thought she was amazing until I saw Rooney here. Cate is always one of my favourites and in a different class altogether.

Hallo, I created one tribute on youtube dedicated to CATE 10 years ago. Even as a young soldier i took a day off to see her in a theatre. So i was a fan before some of you enter. And we ve done it before for so many other minorities and we will re done it? PEOPLE right now enter the waves in Greek sea to SAVE PEOPLE (refugeesi LOVE SUSAN SARANDON!!!!) not because they are refugees themselves but because they TRY to REMAIN HUMANS. So think the message and the embarashment (not because of their choices but because of our imposed readings to their choices) you give to those artists u claim you love. well if my language is vulgar!!! to you or even to some of you (i know its not to everybody) i will apologise. My intention is not to take back any illusion if you need it, first of all because i dont know which and what the illusion is. One day years later we may know but for me that will not excuse the "bedroom keyhole" approach to other human beings. Thats love and respect for me. My intention was to transcend this approach in favour of a broader horizon. (As for selfless love if you EVER translate properly what i wrote you ll see i go for that! it seems to exist!) Yet you may continue. I guess i have the right to continue myself thinking differently without your permission. I meant well and real life (i believe) knows it. My very best to you and sorry if i hurt your feelings

The film Carol is a beautiful love story and not a political film. And finally they do not cut their wrists and they did not die from cancer, though Carol was a chain smoker ....
Cate Blanchett artist manifold clever, humorous and one individual, no matter what it does (actor, director) and I watch every interview, festival films know. Every word I do not understand my English is incomplete. I do not agree with all political sentence, but who cares. And just rooting for him to be happy. Life is not that simple, of course.
