    I'm going to try one on tomorrow, at $1750 Australian for a sporter it's a great buy considering a silver pigeon is close to $1000 more, just going to have to put it against an Ata 686el and see which one fits better

    A very nice 12 bore my friend has the exact same gun and is father bought it brand new 33 years ago and its still going strong. Would highly recommend.

    • @srspower

      I guess that would be the 325?

    Hi just brought a brand new browning 525 game one after getting my licence nearly three months ago looked at a couple of other guns but finally decided to buy the browning, a long wait but well worth it, fits me like a glove.

    I would tighten the choke tubes so you cant unscrew them with your fingers, have you ever seen blown out chokes as the gasses get behind the threads that are loose?

    Was thinking of asking you to do a review on this recently ! You beat me to it ! Was using one last week was spot on !

    • @srspower
      @srspower  7 років тому +2

      In terms of build quality you can't beat it. Mine has a couple of small knocks on the stock and barrel but really it still feels brand new after 7 years!

    Good video and the guns works well. Take your point regards fitting.

    • @srspower

      Yes fit comes first, build quality second to be honest.

    it don't matter when u clean it really u can go months without cleaning ur gun because the modern gun powder and primers we use today don't attack the rifling or ur smooth bore

    I’ve got the sporter model also with the plastic but plate , really like the gun but wish I could Change the plastic plate for a rubber one as sometimes I end up with a bruised shoulder after a day on the pigeons I assume it’s probably the way I’m shouldering the gun
    Great gun tho 👍

    the lower choke sits deeper than the upper choke - why is that? is this a design feature or a margin of error??

    How is the fibre optic sight working for you? I've got an old Baikal with too large a drop on the comb. Willing to try anything at this point! Keep the great content coming!

      It's worked for me well in terms of forcing my to shoulder the gun in the right place.

      srspower where did you get the sights from? I have never had a gun fitted and struggle in some way with correctly mounting all my guns, I'd be interested in trying one of these out

  • @jasonclark950

    Same as my Miroku mk70 sporter checkering etc

  • @Foss2506
    @Foss2506 7 років тому

    Good to see thanks. You have a lot of gun for the money. I bought a grade 5 Miroku (for specific purposes) and the chequering is better finished on your browning. Sorry for you about the fitting - can you take it back and ask for assistance?

    • @charliedillon6319
      @charliedillon6319 7 років тому

      Foss2506 he probably can't because it is not a gun that they fit to people you just buy it as it comes out of the factory. The only way really would be to get a stock fitted to him and then change the stocks out which would cost a bit of money. I guess they maybe able to raise the rib on the gun but I don't really know the technicalities behind it. But theoretically is possible but again it would cost quite abit to do.

    • @srspower
      @srspower  7 років тому

      Ian Coleys do gun fitting but you are talking about £600 upwards! There are other options though, I need to shop around.

    hi, i was wondering if you have done a video for a beginners gun. im new to shotguns and im hoping to go into gamekeeping as a proffesion. if you havent done a video then would the b525 be a good gun for me to get? thanks.

    • @srspower
      @srspower  7 років тому +2

      If you are looking for a good over and under to last you all your life then you should buy either a Browning B525 or a Berreta Silver Pigeon.

    Another great video.
    I am in a similar position to you, with a gun that is too short etc. and have applied the same methods as yourself with the stock jonny and hi viz tube bead. both are pro tem solutions for me until funds allow me to get something more suitable.
    I wonder if you have considered making a video in collaboration with one of the fantastic gunsmiths that frequent the forums, such as pigeon watch, in which you look at gunfit and have your gun adjusted for You? From what I understand, it doesn't have to be a case of new stock, so not horrendously expensive. just an idea.
    Adam

    • @srspower
      @srspower  7 років тому

      That is a good idea especially if they give me a big discount (or free) for advertising!

    • @adamfinch5154
      @adamfinch5154 7 років тому

      i would think it mutually beneficial as we are all aware of the importance of gun fitting, yet little is known about the work involved, and who to do the necessary modifications.

      Well I will probably take a hundred quid potential spending money but I don't have anything particularly in mind. Although I do need a silencer and I am tempted by a Browning buckmark Carbine, so if as good price comes along you never know ...

      The Beretta locking system is inferior to the Browning's underbolt. Especially when it comes time for a rebuild.
