Just because her accent doesn't sound like a Yorkshire one, doesn't mean she aint from yorkshire. If you're an actor or actress you tend to speak more with an english accent (or wherever country you're from) rather than the local dialect as from where you were actually born.
Lena was born in Yorkshire but that's not a Yorkie accent - it's a London accent. Lena's been in London most of her adult life. Keira is a Londoner too.
I cringe when I hear they're going to export LOM (Life on Mars) - a show brilliantly done by John Simm.I haven't watched the American version of The Office. I suppose translation might be needed, I don't know, but I prefer the originals.
I cannot understand why story lines on American tv don't incorporate expatriates. There is a significant Brit community in the States, yet Lena plays American as does Hugh Laurie.
Every society retains a certain amount of insularity, and America is no different... On the other hand... House M.D. features a British Dr. Robert Chase, the actor of which is Australian. Alexis Denisof who played a British Wesley Pryce in Angel was born in America. Bla bla and so forth. Roles are usually written before the actor is cast.
Now Lena Headey is the type of good looking woman with dark hair and light skin.I would go out with her in an instant even though she is 34,and I'm only 21.There is something about dark hair/light skin women that I find attractive.Shannen Doherty is another example.
