You asked about a campaign right after the Cataclysm? That would be epic! I can just imagine great role-playing moments potentially like a Solamnic Knight character who is being attacked by angry villagers blaming him for the Cataclysm. Does the character fight back? Run away? Let them beat him to death? And that's just off the top of my head. A lot of cool ideas that a great DM like you could have fun with!

It could be a great morality tale

I apologize for not articulating better in the chat - in one of the anthology stories (I forget which) a Kender describes that the gods warned the Kender of the pending Cataclysm but told them it would come "from the West", knowing if they said the truth - that it would come from the East and Istar, that all Kender in the world would have gone to see it and they'd be extinct. I just thought that was a fun little story nugget. Cheers

lol it could have been a ploy to get rid of a gray stone race lol

The only anthology I kept was the War of the Lance one. I enjoyed that one the best, especially Niles' story about the Vingaard Campaign

I tend to overthink things (Shocker!) But I've always been fascinated by real world physics and nature blending with the magic and fantasy of Krynn. For example, I don't think the plagues that came after the Cataclysm were put there by the Krynn gods but rather a function of dormant viruses and bacteria being suddenly brought to the surface by the changing landscape. That combined with people's lack of food sources and nutrition in my head canon is why the plagues took place.

Definitely! I always saw it as a disruption of the land and its people so that trying to survive took over cleanliness and disease naturally spread. I compare it to The Road

The mass animal die off alone and the resulting unattended corpses being home to feeding flies, tics, etc passing diseases along.
Also all the corpses is the waterways.
The natural world is deadly enough, without fantasy elements.

@@DLSagaAnd that Sir, is the bleakest book I've ever read.
