  • For a video that was meant to be all sappy and stuff, it ended up being really quite uplifting and if that isn't the story of the century I don't know what is.

    For your next vid:
    - do you want the same sort of life style as an adult that you had as a kid? Moving between countries and cultures and (if you have kids), schools?
    - would you like to live in London one day? I get the impression that those 3 and a half months really impacted you!
    - random but who are your all time or current favourite musical artists?

A question for the Q&A for next time, or to anyone else watching who’s had to move a lot
How do you say goodbye to places you used to live in (and by that I mean houses)? How do you not get sad when you don’t have the same walk to places anymore? Do you say goodbye, or do you wait until later on to become homesick?
I love your videos btw 😁

omg i feel this so much. i spent primary school in three cities and two countries (australia and new zealand) then my teenage years going between living in nepal and boarding school in australia then at 18 i moved to germany by myself for a year. then melbourne, england, melbourne, london and now in a few months LA then sydney and like WHAT
basically i feel you with the whole not having a set place but also how having that would be fucking weird lol

In a world built around nostalgia it's so tough to not have a conventional past. I moved countries at age 11 and it's so weird that half of my childhood is in one place and half of it is somewhere else. Now I'm 23 and it feels like I've settled but you can't change the past so I forever feel out of place in reminiscing conversation amongst my current friends. Sorry for the essay! Maybe this is video response material...

This is so interesting! I'm 18 and I've moved countries four times so far and I feel the same about a lot of things. I'm starting uni in Syd too tho and I'm finally feeling like I can settle here and build like a community or network for myself in one place. And the cramming relationships thing OH MY I do that too and I did not realise that it might be related to my lack of roots wowww

This is such an interesting part of your life I am glad to be acquainted with again! I have that very typical didn't move at all until I moved to uni lifestyle but I think it's also awesome being at uni and recognising that going home isn't the same during the uni year because all my friends are also spread out across the UK at different unis. It's like your experience but in a much smaller nutshell which is far more normal.
As a consequence I feel like I do the opposite to you, I feel like I have the time to get to know people in my own time but sometimes they'll disappear and I won't have built up to it and it can leave you wondering if there was anything else you could have done.
My question for you is, what parts of a person do you prioritise getting to know if you have a short period of time? I know that definitely varies from person to person but what details do you tend to get to know first? :D

I so understand this! I've been moving around since I was a year old, and since then I've spanned five different countries. I have three passports and absolutely no idea what a home or roots would even look like. Letting my relationships hold strong even when everything isn't intense is so hard to do. Do you ever struggle with not having a clear cut identity? When people ask, "where you from?", what do you say?

Did you go to the Lorde concert? 😉 And what's up with Zannah? How did you meet, what did you together? I'd love to see a collab.

I thought this was gonna be a video about the dangers of hair dye.
Q: When in the past have you done something that everyone told you not to do? How did it go?

Oh and your life's story sounds like the PR-campaign of Alice Merton the singer with the hit "Roots". Do you love that as much as you should? 😁

I’m hoping to move abroad for uni. Not the first time I’ve moved countries as I, live you moved as a kid. However it will be my first time alone, going somewhere where I know literally no one. Help?
