While still not having more variety of colors like reload, og actually looks more colorful on my crt tv. I believe ps2 games on modern screens look a bit washed out.
@ I mean the SEES uniforms look like slightly different versions of Gekkoukan uniforms and I think that they look uglier but ok. Different strokes for different folks. The only thing related to character designs that I think looks better in Reload are the 2D dialogue portraits. They look more generic in terms of art style and don't have the same distinctive aesthetic like the original ones from 2006 but they overall look more consistent. Soejima was refining his style at the time without Kaneko's help so you did have misses here and there in terms of proportions and perspectives, etc, etc. Reload also has it's fair share of misses (Kenji comes to mind) but I agree with people that most of the new portraits in Reload look better from a technical side
I absolutely hate all of the extra dialogue overexplaining everything. Stuff like Yukari's "I can't do it" and "The lights..." is just so jarring when you know it's lifted directly from P3 Portable. It made sense there because of the lack of cutscenes, but here it just ruins so many great scenes by not letting the character shut up.
The cutscenes are majorly different, never played the game so don't have a preference but it is a much bigger difference than other games people complain of style changes 😂
I think the cutscenes were better in the original, and that could be nostalgia, but for 2020, a lot of the 3D animated ones are heavily reliant on terrible motion capture. What isn't nostalgia though is some of the boss dungeon songs. Deep Breath Deep Breath, Deep Mentality & Battle For Everyone's Souls have some sort of downgrade. Otherwise, everything else is an upgrade. The voice acting, gameplay, graphics, music, etc,. Love it all!
While the graphics are better in reload (Obviously). The direction they took for the story is very.....eh. It's clear they followed the movie but to be honest. It would have been better to do its own thing. Cause in reload they flop between the movie and the original that it felt too much. Plus doing 3d animations where it should have been 2d like in the original was a massive mistake. But the beach scene needed a 2d animation for some reason. Say what you will about the music but for some songs are good or on par with the og but most aren't as good. People can call it nostalgia but I'll always say its recency bias. I prefer the original and you can prefer the remake.
Reload is cool but I love how washed out and depressing OG was
Also the anime cutscenes were chef's kiss

Reload has better graphics, character designs and textures, but I do prefer the atmosphere and the cutscenes in the original more.
There is a mods bring back the atmosphere to reload, you should try that.
@@igm1571 how is it called?
The character designs are the same
@ I meant the new SEES uniform, and the details

dare i say that the direction of the new cutscenes are... soulless?
thank you for the obvious but they are compressed and the remake is to overhyped and baby easy
To literally censored for modern sensitivities
as the original were more on edge and cared for the players' emotions
You mean the animated cutscenes?
MAPPA core 😍
Honestly yeah I’ll have to agree that the new anime cutscenes don’t hit nearly as hard and aren’t as metal as the old ones
Original is more experimental/conceptual
26:20 I like how Liam O'Brien is in this scene for both versions (Akihiko in the OG, Officer Kurosawa in Reload)
the original had gritty colors

If anyone's upset with the new vocal singer, I really think it's just a bad take. She's great.
What, you want the original to sing to death??
Brightness and saturation are tripled
I love Yukari in both version
That Per… So… Na hits so much harder in reload I love all VA work in reload

Regresenme la voz que tenía Akihiko!!!
ps2 original better
I Need More universe Persona 3 🤧
If you think the graphics on the ps5 look good, wait until you see it on pc 😂
soul vs soulless.
New graphics are very nice though love the updated shading and 3d models
