Dave has helped me before fix my friends 47re a broken second gear strut . He took time years ago to explain to me how the triple disc convertor holds more than the single back when folks said there was no difference in holding . I guess that's been put to bed lol . I always been a fan of Dave's products.. if I had a automatic I want there products
Where do you measure the width of the piston at when selecting the correct spacer. That information is of no use without knowing where you measure the piston at.
So if you needed to replace just the housing, there is no need to disassemble the internal overdrive section? Sounds like something I could actually do myself if that were the case (I don't have a press). Great video.
@@AndrewBrowner Worked good for me.. I shoved a #2 pencil in the parking paw to get it out. Going on 3 years without an issue. Got my housing from Cascade.
@@andrewjessen764 i got the housing off, the park rod stayed with the transmission, ive heard its a pain to get it back behind the pawl, did you just slide the housing on and spin the output slightly to get it to pop behind the pawl?
@@Junior-hd2hc mine got some but it feels like is shaking when I applied it, I have to give her a little push to back up , im going to open the fluid pan to see whats going on.
Alright I took apart my transmission, nothing was worn except the OD housing. The snap ring that needs to be pressed on was broken and the clutches werent pressed on. Gonna try and drive it this weekend.
That last part I think was pretty important from what I've heard, glad you mentioned it. But would be nice to see where you measured that "width".
