My family and I moved to Iowa a little over a year ago for my job. We did not know what to expect, but we ended up loving it. We loved it so much that when my job of 6 years wanted us to move back down south, I found a new job just to stay in Iowa. We have made Iowa our forever home.

Born and raised in Iowa, left for 20 years, came back after having kids. Loved and agreed with all of this video! Also wanted to add that it is an AMAZING place for families/kids. There is a great park system that is beautifully maintained, lots of hiking and biking paths, rivers, lakes, and community centers. My kids can walk/bike nearly 2 miles to school and I don't have to worry about their safety. Most towns still have door-to-door trick or treating. Communities are very supportive and nurturing to kids. Education has historically been very important with high literacy and graduation rates. We also have the highest literacy rate in the US and 60% of the states energy use is from wind energy which is the highest in the US AND the oak savannah ecosystem is unique to Iowa, offering amazing biodiversity to study and explore 😁😁😁
There's some really wonderful nature parks, including forest, swamp, and prairie, along the Cedar River between Cedar Falls and Waterloo. Miles and miles of it actually. Used to go running there all the time.
I grew up in Iowa. My favorite quirk of Iowa, and probably other midwestern states, is distance in expressed in drive time. So for example, how far is it from Iowa City to Des Moines, about two hours.
Yup. The distance from my childhood residence to my current residence is about 15 hours, gate-to-gate (assuming, of course, you feel no need to stop anywhere along the way).
For most of my adult life I've lived in the Pacific Northwest, but I identify ethnically as an Iowan. Real talk...born and raised in Iowa City. Beautiful state, great vibe, great people. Love it!
I'm from the PNW, and my father's side of the family is from Iowa as well, although he himself didn't really spend that much time there. My grandpa was the last person in our family to grow up on the farm, and he left after college to become a computer scientist in the 1950's. My dad really grew up in Minnesota and Vermont, met my mom while attending college in Texas, and then joined the navy and spent most of his career in the PNW, and ended up staying for good. I visited an elderly relative of mine in 2015 who still lived in Decorah where he was a Lutheran minister for many years, and he showed me the old family farm, as well as the old Lutheran church where generations of my family were baptized and married.
@@tmusa2002 Sadly, that is true. Actually the second worst thing about Waterloo (not sure if it's true about all of Iowa, didn't seem true about Des Moines, Decorah, Muscatine, the Quad Cities or Dubuque, but definitely true about Waterloo-Cedar Falls) after the weather is the incredibly dark and envious people you can very easily find yourself surrounded by. I'm pretty sure there's a portal directly to Hell somewhere in Black Hawk County.
I was born and raised in Iowa. After 30 years of living in the south .. I'm moving back. It's always been my home.. I miss the wide open spaces. Especially in Northwest Iowa.
I live in the South in SC. Everyone is moving here from North and California. It is so annoying. I just visited my sister and her family in Iowa last week and fell in Love. I know the winters can be brutal, but I lived in snow for 4 years of my life in Colorado and Ohio with no family. My family is in Iowa and I want to move there so bad now. I am a country girl and I dislike the city.
@@JesusIScalling777 Same.. I dislike the city as well. I've been applying for jobs.. there are many. Go on indeed and mass apply if you need a job. Cost of living is much lower there as well. Hell let's all go together..lol. Plus.. snowmobiling and ice fishing is something that can't be done in the south. I think the people are much friendlier in Iowa.
Grew up in on a farm NW Iowa, spent a lot my summers on West Okoboji. live in central Iowa. So, some of the good things you might have missed. Fishing, we are bordered by the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Also have the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers in central Iowa. NE Iowa has a ton of trout streams(Brown, Brook, and Rainbow). We have several lakes, including a few reservoirs. NW Iowa has the Iowa Great Lakes and some amazing sport fishing. I've spent a lot of time fishing on those lakes. Muskie, Northern, Walleye, Largemouth and Smallmouth bass....just awesome. The Okoboji/Iowa Great Lakes area in general is a pretty nice place to spend a few days. Just watch out for the 3 summer holidays, the area becomes a very packed zoo. Hunting....the deer in Iowa are huge. Hunters from out of state try to get deer tags every year. We've become known for having massive deer and they are everywhere. Bird hunting for waterfowl is pretty good, and the pheasant hunting is getting back to where it used to be. The two major universities. The University of Iowa has a very good hospital. Iowa State has a great animal hospital. Different land types. You kind of touched on it, but part of NE Iowa didn't get leveled by the glacier during the ice age. The area kind of reminds me of the areas like the Alps. Western Iowa is prairie country. We don't have a lot of poisonous animals. 3 rattlesnake species, but they are rare to find. Maybe a brown recluse spider. We have the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines along with the Iowa Wild hockey team. Plus we have teams from a smaller hockey division. Des Moines has the Buccaneers....I prefer the Sioux City Musketeers. Kind of a down side is if you are trying to start as a farmer. Farm land is expensive, and I mean EXPENSIVE. It's usually sold at auction, last auction I was at 80 acres sold for over 13k per acre. The equipment needed isn't cheap either. A lot of the small farmers now rent farm land. It's cheaper, and you don't have to pay property taxes on the land. Storms, if you like storms it's a plus, if not a minus. I've know people that come here from the west coast and FREAK OUT when a thunderstorm warning is issued. If you like storms and the light show they have, you are in luck.
Yeah for farmland my experience is that Oklahoma (especially near Eufaula) tends to be a better deal, although you always have to be careful about water rights. Maine used to be a good deal, but prices have skyrocketed in the last year due to heavy residential interest. Prices in Maine are now about 10-100 times what they were the last time I looked in to the matter. The Southwest has stopped being a good deal because the irrigation water is getting cut.
The best thing I love about Iowa are the corn farms in the summer with the wind blowing. It makes it look like waves in an ocean. Thanks for the video y’all!
@@tyrellnikki9671 hi there , I have a question I'm Canadian from Toronto, just about 1.5 yrs ago I moved to Germany and I hated, was thinking about trying the USA , hows Iowa lol thx
My wife and I are from the Chicago area and plan to retire in Dubuque in the next 5 years. We took our bicycles up there to ride on the heritage trail ( most beautiful bike/ walking trail I’ve seen) and we were pleasantly surprised at how friendly The people were. Every one we can across smiled and said good morning! Definitely a pleasant culture shock 😃
Thanks for this video I’m from Philly Pennsylvania now I live in the suburb of Philly I’m doing travel cna and the agency wanted to know if I’d start in Iowa until the other cna reciprocity come in I was kind of skeptical but now I feel comfortable doing my travel assignment out there
If your using the shovel for snow and it's a long line of snow always use only a quarter of the length of the shovels blade to remove the snow. That way you don't get what I call a double snow line. Just some neighborly advice from Des Moines.
My family has been in Iowa since the early 1850's. I grew up in Oskaloosa and I treasure that experience. I now live in Texas, but there's a possibility of returning after retirement. I miss Jaarsma Bakery, Pella Bologna and Anderson-Erickson Dairy products. And, I miss living in a town where I could walk everywhere.
I lived in Marshalltown for about 25 years. One pro you missed IMHO was the amazing fishing all over the state. Also, the wildflowers EVERYWHERE in the spring and summer.
You guys are so kind. You have made Iowa more appealing to me with this video. Thank you. I was thinking there or Denver, so we shall see. Casey's looks amazing. It better be good or I'll hold this channel accountable, only if I do end up going to Iowa.
The Colorado implants that moved here 5 to 20 years ago are fleeing in droves. You can watch the growth in 6 month increments. I'm originally from Mpls and I'm looking at Sioux Falls or Des Moines. Hope that helps.
Just got back from the fair! My hubby is from Des Moines so we were visiting his people... Im a Jersey girl but def see the appeal to Iowa... we went to Pella and the bakery down there is worth the move alone 😄 my hubby is retiring in a few years and Iowa is def on the list. Love the idea of weekend road trips to all the surrounding states! It is a greatly balanced state, affordable, nice people and all 4 seasons ❤ Great vid guys!!
Woohoo!!! Glad you went to the state fair. Missed out this year... but will be there next year.. and we will for sure make a video! Thanks so much for watching 😊😁! Go IOWA
I enjoyed your video and agreed with most of it. I live in Indianola, just south of Des Moines, which is home to the National Balloon Classic as well as the Des Moines Metro Opera which is celebrating its fiftieth year. And there is professional baseball in Des Moines with the AAA Iowa Cubs. Finally, in your area you can watch good college baseball at the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League where my grandson is pitching this summer.
I can't wait to watch your grandson pitch! Haha. I will be at some of the games (going on now) I love the Bucks! Thanks for you input and tuning in!! 👍
As someone who lives in the Des Moines area, I enjoyed this video. Yes, we get very little traffic. Even with the rush hour traffic in Iowa, one can always find a way around the traffic by using backroads and other routes. If you want to move somewhere where you can actually never get into a traffic jam with knowledge of the roads you can do that. What airport is the opening departure video from? It looks like CID. I love the trails in Iowa. There are so many and they are always really well maintained. College sports is huge here in Iowa! I am somewhat of an Iowa State fan, but I will always be a Nebraska Husker fan. I find it interesting that a lot of fan bases are here in Iowa from of course Iowa State and Iowa to Minnesota, Nebraska, and Florida fans are here as well. I know the “long winters” is technically a con, but I love winter so I don’t mind most of the time. Last winter we had a -50°F night. OMG, I hate the polo all adds. Our political ads season legit runs for over a year on every presidential season. YT adds become literally nothing but political adds for at least 6 months which is annoying. However, despite these issues I do love politics so the ability to meet major candidates and such is cool.
I grew up in Eastern Iowa, left in 1989 for full-time military and moved back in 2019. I retired from the military in 2012 and realized how expensive Colorado is and my new wife wanted to move to Iowa, since she enjoyed visiting there!!
I want to love to CO took a road trip to explore. It just sooo expensive, the state is running out of water- rivers drying up … soo many people.. I’ve researched it extensively… gotta past on CO. I live in KS … looking at Iowa. I work remote so I can work anywhere..
Woohoo! How exciting! Glad this could be a help!! I have a friend who works in Boone! Save travels too and from. Hope this channel just helps ignite more excitement for your adventure in the Midwest!
@@tyrellnikki9671 Indeed it most definitely did. I myself will also be working down in Boone for the local railroad there in town, to whcih I'm most definitely even more excited about on top of the move. All about Iowa already seems so much better than Maryland from what I've seen.
@@jessicaburdell7779 it can take some getting used to, if you're used to having 100 things happening, there's always something, just have to know where to look lol 😆 good luck, haven't been near boone in a long time
I hate traffic so much! I live in the South. I think I will be moving before too long. My mom, sister and her family are in Iowa. I remember the tornado sirens when I lived in Sterling, CO. It was small town life. I miss that a lot.
I used to live in Cedar Falls back in 2015 when I worked at John Deere. I kind of laughed at what you said about the balance of city and rural, because I think the absolute best description of Iowa is "Brooklyn in a cornfield": all kinds of neat little ethnic communities, Norwegian towns, Italian towns, Irish towns, German towns, Czech towns, Mexican towns, a large African American city at Waterloo, and all of them are so dedicated to their ethnic heritage. The main streets, houses, et cetera kind of look like Williamsburg too. One pro you missed though is the fireflies: go to the right place in Northeast Iowa in June or July and you can see them by the thousands. I agree with most of what you said (although even Waterloo there's really only one road in the entire town that EVER becomes congested, and it's that puzzling little section of US-218 that briefly becomes a stroad after being a freeway, and then becomes a freeway again on the other side), although I'm not sure I consider pro #5 a positive. Actually the weather is truly the worst thing about Iowa, way too hot in the summer, way too cold in the winter, lots of lightning and weirdness in between, although stormchasing is fun. I would frequently go running in the summertime directly after tornadoes because it was the only time of day when it was cool enough to run, and that cool would only last for a little less than an hour.
I love the fire flies too!😊 sounds silly but they are one of my favorite part of summer. I remember as a kid collecting them in a jar. They are beautiful over a bean field at night.
@Reverend Boaz Essentially no venomous snakes or spiders. Bears used to live here and the stray one wanders into the Driftless region and beyond. Same for Mountain Lions, but no one is attacked the predators that do RARELY come around. Animals are generally terrified of people here.
Thank you for the great perspective of non-native Iowans. I was born here and lived in AZ for a couple years and came back. I do miss Arizona, but I’ve learned to appreciate many of the things I didn’t like about this state. Very pleased to call you follow Iowans! Thanks for pointing out The Driftless!
I watched this from Southeast Iowa, a little town called West Burlington and a Hawkeye fan. Actually, I support all Iowa teams until they play the Hawkeyes. Grew up here, left to live elsewhere and moved back. One thing you did get wrong, Iowa does have professional sports. For example: Iowa Cubs in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids Kernals and the Quad Cities River Bandits in Davenport, albeit they are minor league teams, they are professional. Iowa Cubs are Triple A which is one step from playing in Wrigley Field. Awesome video tho.
One of my favorite memories as a child was watching the Burlington Bees baseball team. The last game I've seen, they were a Minor League team competing against the Quad Cities River Bandits. But, this time around, I hear the Burlington Bees have been downgraded from the Minor Leagues to some type of collegiate summer league.
My wife and I are in NW Iowa both of us were born and raised in Iowa. Can't say that I've been in many other states , But been to a few. Way I look at it though is Iowa is the life for me :) Good video by the way. And Glad to have you both in Iowa :)
I was born in Iowa and lived there until I was 12 then moved to Missouri 9 years ago but have a lot of family that still lives throughout Iowa so I find myself up there visiting quite frequently, I love both states and would possibly consider moving back after my time in the military is up but those long and cold winters just might be the thing that keeps me from doing so, still love going there to visit though
Hi guys, thanks for the video. I'm your neighbor from Cedar Falls. Iowa in general, and Cedar Valley in particular, is a great place to live for all the reasons you talk about. Don't forget to include the UNI Panthers when you talk about college sports.
My husband and I are currently trying to make the move Iowa with our 4 littles from Ca! Watching this made us even more excited for our move! Thanks so much for all the great Iowa Info! 🤍
I moved from California to Iowa and I LOVEEE it here! People are so kind. Love that I can afford to live and eat lol because in California that wasn't guaranteed 😅Good luck with whatever you decide😊
I grew up in Council Bluffs and I've found the friendliest people you'll ever meet when I was a young boy I loved that beautiful one hour drive to Vis my Grandparents and aunts and Uncles and Cousins in Shenandoah or the Twenty minute drive to our Family reunions in Oakland Iowa .Some places of interest you might like in Iowa are the boyhood homeof the Everly Brothers in Shenandoah or the Boyhood home of John Wayne in Winterset.
How long do winters last down there and during what months? I’m in AK and winter dominates the year... Summers/falls are gorgeous here, but very short (3 months) each season.
Very good question! Not as long as Alaska!! 😁 Keep in mind Iowa weather can be bipolar haha! So there can be 50 degree days, 60 degree days even in December! But for the most part Winter is Nov-March! April (hopefully) you will be Safe from the 🥶 and snow! Thanks for tuning in!!
@@tyrellnikki9671 I agree with you guys on how Iowa weather is bipolar. Especially when it can feel like 30 and windy in the morning in fall, but the rest of the day it feels like Summer in the 70’s. It’s weird so I always check the forecast.
Things may have changed, I've been away for a long time. Moved away 40 years ago. Cold but no snow on Halloween and snow melted and soupy by tax day 4/15. 90 degrees with 90% humidity is not unheard of. Spring and autumn are tornado seasons cold northern air mixing with warm southern air is what I remember.
Yeah, usually December to beginning of April, we can also often get wind chills colder than southern AK in winter when the jet stream hits the midwest!!
Make sure you check out the many beautiful state parks as well as exploring the bigger cities and towns!!! Iowa has a lot to offer, sometimes you just have to look (or drive) for it :)

I'm from Altoona(we all love Adventureland), just east of Des Moines, and we don't have fall. It's just summer, and then it feels like winter, but then it feels like summer, and then spring somehow? Then it feels like winter again, then summer, and then "fall" is over and it's officially winter.
Hi guys! Born and raised in Des Moines and I really appreciated and enjoyed this video. Changing of seasons is my favorite though I wish I could say bye bye to the ice in the winter. But it’s apart of the fun! I’ve been here most of my life and love to travel, but I am always happy to come home. State Fair is awesome - you guys have to try the Hot Beef Sundae. I’d love to help with that video if you do it. Still never been to Lost Island and I need to check it out. So in the Des Moines metro the siren test is the first Saturday of the month at 12 noon.
Woooohoo! Go Pella! Can't wait to do a video during the Tulip Festival (which we sadly just missed..) and the Dutch heritage throughout the town! Beautiful city and full of charm! Thanks for the kind words! 😊
Tornado sirens are tested at different times in different places. I've lived in CR which maybe had the Wednesday at 11am like you said but I believe Des Moines is Saturdays at 9am
I live in Pennsylvania and I'm looking to relocate to Iowa. This video makes me more excited to make the move. I'm looking forward to meeting the great people and experiencing all the good things there is about the state
Best bet is here in bettendorf. This town is growing big time. We do the stonework on the brand new homes here. Don't let the prices scare you. There are affordable areas here aswell.
Y’all are so pleasant. Your character alone makes me want to move to Iowa. The snow intimidates me but I think with helpful Iowa neighbors maybe they can give me some tips!

I'm an Iowan having lived in Western Iowa all my life. It is a beautiful place. Just thought I'd remind you of the Loess Hills and the bluffs on the Western side of the state. Beautiful area. Oh and I'm a Hawkeye fan!!! Go Hawks!!!
I guess I won't hold it against you regarding the Hawkeyes 😁😉🤣! But forreal thanks for that feedback regarding Western Iowa! Can't wait to explore that portion of the state in the near future 🙌 !
I literally live in the middle of a corn field with no neighbors. One time I had to work in Chicago for a couple of weeks for a system implementation. A guy heard I was from Iowa and said he was scared of Iowa because it gets so dark at night. Funny, I note that it never gets dark in Chicago! He is right; out in the country, your headlights light the way and that’s it! Country folks have to pay for a light pole, which you do see them around farms, but you’re on your own mostly!
One more thing is that I telecommute. Most of my coworkers are in Detroit. They laugh at me when I tell them that, “I need to go to town” to get something. I guess that is pretty funny! Hey, “town” (aka, any stores) is 15 minutes away!
My great grandfather founded Williamsburg, IA after coming to the US from Wales. His son lived there for years, then made his way to Idaho, and ultimately to California when all his direct descendents now live (so far as I know). I've never been to Williamsburg, but it is on my list.
Hi 👋☺️. Me and my fiance will be moving to Des Moines, Iowa. Is there some way that you can make a video of the pros and cons of Des Moines?. Best place to live in the area and the worst place to live in the area.... That would be very helpful. I really love your videos. Hope to hear from you soon... And quick question, we're from Tennessee so how hot does it really get in the summer for you guys in Iowa?
What part of tennessee are you at? I used to Live in Nashville actually! Iowa can definitely get very hot in the summer.. it can be around the same as the south, mabye sometimes worse because of the Corn 🌽 Sweat... look it up! So awesome that yall are going to move to Iowa soon!
I grew up there and did college and grad school at Iowa. I like it a lot. I live in Alabama now because of my job but Iowa is my home state. Iowans are very much like southerners in their friendliness and hospitality. Also the diet. It makes me laugh at family gatherings when people are aghast that we live in the South because they are really just mirror images of people down here with cold winters and a different accent. Everybody hunts and fishes. Everybody consumes pork. Everybody listens to country music and goes to church. Apart from some regional differences they are not that far apart. My friend in Georgia interned at Iowa during college and told me it was one of the funnest times he ever had. Good on you guys for promoting the state.
@@seleureginald congrats, if you aren't used to winter driving, biggest thing is start slowing down way earlier that you would think, and 4wd will also help a lot lol

I especially loved autumn. My wife accompanied me to my 20th high school reunion and was amazed by how friendly my fellow Iowans were. It was a great place to grow up, and although I’ve now lived in Florida longer than I lived in Iowa, I will always proudly consider myself an Iowan.

HATE winter! Will be visiting for my class reunion this summer, Cedar Rapids Jefferson Class of 1981, baby! Always a good time! Oh, and in Cedar Rapids, when the "sirens" come on, it's not a siren. It's a MAN'S voice. One time when I was visiting in 2000 and I heard it, and I was like, "where is that coming from?" Really freaked me out!
As a bit of an update, I work for the railroad in Boone still, but I'm currently living down here and Ames and so far, I definitely much say is great and way over the top of my expectations. The people are so much friendlier than Maryland, the other animal beings seem happier and overall, both the suburban and city like landscapes of this state just seem to amaze always in both beauty and sanguine. I definitely love Iowa and so glad and proud I made the unforgettable choice of moving to settle here.
Woohooo!!! So so glad you updated us!! Iowa is amazing.. but you are a testimony of someone who not just watched the video... but actually Moved and here to stay! 👏👏👏👏 awesome stuff Jessica!
Hey Jessica. I've lived in Iowa my whole life. In July you should drive to Decorah, Iowa and rent a canoe, and take it on The Upper Iowa River. You can find lots of places where you park your car and they will give you a canoe for the day. You ride a bus and they drop you off up river with the canoe, and then ride the canoe down river back to your car. Gorgeous 200 foot limestone bluffs all along the river. Very very calm river. Do it!
Im moving to Boone..Im old gonna live in a small senior community. Im from Texas...worries about snow and getting out of my complex parking lot..also how much damage it will do to the underside of my truck...what should I prepare for?
Great video Tyrrell and Nikki! Go Hawkeyes!!! Maybe that's because I actually live only 32 miles south of Iowa City! I've gone to several home Hawkeye games! You both are correct on the pros and cons of Iowa! Iowa is the "land between 2 rivers"! I didn't realize Lost Island was expanding up there! That's only just over an hour and a few minutes from down here! I used to have friends living up in Clarksville (near Waverly) and have been there many times! I have Family that was from Albia and Moravia. Also just over an hour from me. Des Moines is an hour and 20 minutes. I can be in Omaha Nebraska or suburban Chicago in 4 1/2 hours! Same for St. Louis. Kansas City is about 5 hours. So much to see and do here! Love you guys! Mark in southeast Iowa.
Bold of you to cheer for the Hawkeyes! Their clearly inferior competitors over at ISU might be upset, and it’s not their fault they’re sorely mistaken! We can celebrate our clearly superior team, but don’t forget to pity the cyclones fans while you’re at it 😂

And lots and lots of nothing
Houses are affordable!
Yay Im old and coming hopefully in October...a little worries about how my truck will be in snow😒
We are rapidly losing on education, teachers are leaving here in droves!
Thanks for nice video. Very informative. Best wishes from Serbia/Europe.
I grew up in Iowa. My favorite quirk of Iowa, and probably other midwestern states, is distance in expressed in drive time. So for example, how far is it from Iowa City to Des Moines, about two hours.
You actually find that in a lot of places.
My mom's from Iowa City! Love that town.
Being a flyover state is a good thing, it keeps the riffraff out.
To a point, yes. But we have plenty of our own homegrown scumbags. 🙂🌽❤️
Plenty of them coming out of Chicago that have moved in
@@tmusa2002 Sadly, that is true.

My mom is from Iowa, and growing up we visited every summer. Someday I want to live there! 😍 🌽 🐄 😍
Yes!!! And a failed to mention the LARGEST TRUCK STOP ON INTERSTATE 80! I'm sure your familiar with that 😉 thanks for the support bro!
I visited Iowa only once and I fell in love with the place!
Iowa is the world best kept secret. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for this video I’m from Philly Pennsylvania now I live in the suburb of Philly I’m doing travel cna and the agency wanted to know if I’d start in Iowa until the other cna reciprocity come in I was kind of skeptical but now I feel comfortable doing my travel assignment out there
Great job. You two are lovely. Looking forward to seeing your travels.
Awww shucks!! Thank so much! More to come 😁
If your using the shovel for snow and it's a long line of snow always use only a quarter of the length of the shovels blade to remove the snow.
Osky girl here too, living in TN. And I crave Jaarsma’s.
I lived in Marshalltown for about 25 years. One pro you missed IMHO was the amazing fishing all over the state. Also, the wildflowers EVERYWHERE in the spring and summer.
You all seem like kind, chill and real people
I grew up in Iowa, great people, nice summers, brutal winters, moved to the Georgia coast where I can do everything I like year round.
You guys are so kind. You have made Iowa more appealing to me with this video. Thank you. I was thinking there or Denver, so we shall see. Casey's looks amazing. It better be good or I'll hold this channel accountable, only if I do end up going to Iowa.
Not worried about being held accountable, Casey's is Legit 😁🤙 thanks for the kind words!
The Colorado implants that moved here 5 to 20 years ago are fleeing in droves. You can watch the growth in 6 month increments. I'm originally from Mpls and I'm looking at Sioux Falls or Des Moines. Hope that helps.

Around 6:40, on the snow below the pole you see the deadly yellow snow, from right there where the huskies go.
Thanks for the input! And good eye. The opening plane is cedar rapids! Haha! 😀
Brave of you to admit being a Cornhusker fan in a comment section full of Iowans. I cheer for the Hawkeyes!
I grew up in Eastern Iowa, left in 1989 for full-time military and moved back in 2019. I retired from the military in 2012 and realized how expensive Colorado is and my new wife wanted to move to Iowa, since she enjoyed visiting there!!

Thanks for the correction Marty!!! Thanks for the feedback!
Also iowa wolves, which is d league basketball
One of my favorite memories as a child was watching the Burlington Bees baseball team. The last game I've seen, they were a Minor League team competing against the Quad Cities River Bandits. But, this time around, I hear the Burlington Bees have been downgraded from the Minor Leagues to some type of collegiate summer league.
You also have the College World Series just across the border in Omaha.
Don't forget Sterzing's!

My hubby just recently accepted a job with the railroad . We are moving from Superior Wi to Iowa . Can’t wait to move
Graduting next year my fiance and i are thinking of moving here.. great video
Thinking about moving here. This video helps, thanks both of you!
Any idea what part of the state? Different areas are known more for different things lol
If your not related to anybody ,their all related to each other in small towns and will find yourself enjoying your own company.
@@timolson6168 Sounds good to me
Lookin at Iowa from New York.. It seems really nice.
We love you too Mark!!! Appreciate your input and you tuning in and enjoying it! 😀
Bold of you to cheer for the Hawkeyes! Their clearly inferior competitors over at ISU might be upset, and it’s not their fault they’re sorely mistaken! We can celebrate our clearly superior team, but don’t forget to pity the cyclones fans while you’re at it 😂
Thank you so much and I looking to moving to Iowa from Florida. I lived in many areas of the USA. I am originally from NY. So Florida is very hot and too hot and humid and giant bugs. The upper part of Florida is very hard living.
Thank you for this informative video! My significant other and I have been thinking about moving to another state, we are from Los Angeles, CA. Sometimes we feel crazy for wanting to leave, since alot of people actually want to come here but cost of living is insanely high, and we personally feel like its overrated. This video was actually very helpful and comforting to know that there are cities and things to do, since I am a city girl. The 4 seasons also gets me excited, yay a white christmas!! We are thinking of Des Moines since its more city like...
If you move from LA, get ready for a culture shock. When our friends from San Jose visit, they can’t stop talking about how cheap it is at movie theaters and bars. They also laugh at home prices.
Stay in California. We don't want blue donkey IQ idiots coming to Iowa
@@tmusa2002 great culture shock lol
Getting ready to move to Iowa with my family. My uncle lives there and we need a major change. We are kind people and need to be where kind people are. We are thinking one of these places. Asbury
North Liberty
Urbandale
Sioux Center
Algona (
Johnston
West Des Moines
Pella
Carroll
Ankeny. We like to be in the country but 30 minutes to an hour from the city towns. Please advise?🙏🏽
All depends on your budget! Most of those would be higher end. Des moines would have everything you need... Urbandale and Johnstom would be fantastic cities to live. [It will be higher than most of the state... but might be affordable depending on what state you are moving from] ! North liberty would be bad either and you would have 2 major cities you would be near... Cedar Rapids and Iowa City! It is ultimately up to you!!! Your gonna love this beautiful state! Forrealz! 👍 Thanks for watching!
@@tyrellnikki9671 My uncle lives in West Des Moines. I will start looking in Des Moines. Thank you. I'm not interested in paying too much. I just want to live in a safe place. Thank you! God bless you both. You both make a great couple.
The weather is literally my only complaint about Iowa.
Sounds like a nice place to live.
I've lived in North-Central Iowa my entire life. Really rural county just north of Ames.
I'm planning on moving there next month.
Love this. Video but you forgot the cedar Rapids kernels.
