- Can we add WIFI to 3D PRINTER (RAMPS 1.4 and other, DOIT DT-06)?
I will review a Doit DT-06 serial to WIFI module. I will show you, if you can use it to make your 3D printer wireless. The plan is very simple. We need the module and 4 wires. It costs less than 3 dollars (2019).
The DT-06 uses a Espressif ESP8285 which is basically ESP8266.
Why this module? It has everything prepared. We can just upload any other firmware for the ESP8266. There are many free sources for the Arduino.
It has some drawbacks I discuss in the video. In short - I cannot compete with something like Octoprint on Raspberry Pie...

Try removing the SD card from printer. This solved my bluetooth serial communication issues during print. Nice video..

Hello, worked on my A30 Geeetech printer 5 years ago and just lost interest. I just got back into it and was wondering if you were able to get the esp working with the A30 board ? Can you share what the pins on the GTM32 MINI control board are. I just bought a SV06 as well. Looking to add esp to any one but there is not much info on where on the board to connect.
Hello, when you setup the wifi module you left "communication timeout" to 50s, while in printer setup "communication timeout" was 40s. Have you tried corecting those values and were you able to print without errors? Also have you tried "ping-pong" checkbox in printer setup?
Honestly I do not remember, but I hope someone tries it and reports back.

I think it can be done. If not directly, you can use i.e. arduino mini and use it between w5500 and ramps.
so i have this arduino that gets the water level of an area , if i used this dt-06 to send those water level data into database , will it work ?

Hi. I have tested them up to 20m through very old thick brick house. 50m eye to eye open air. This would be the upper limit definetly.
