I can attest to all these questions. I just did a bunch of rounds of interviews for various companies in various industries targeting Dev Ops Engineer or SRE roles. Currently, I just started an SRE role at a SaaS company. All of these questions came up in at least one of the interviews I had. Great content! The accuracy is spot on.
As I have found over the years I'm really more interested in the people part of IT like training and policies. I also do love problem solving but I'm struggling to get interested in coding like I was in my youth. I mostly just script and write SQL
The question I got asked was "Do you have experience building infrastructure", like wtf kind of question is that I wouldn't be here applying for this job If I didn't. I don't what that question is supposed to entail.
My preferred distribution is probably Linux Mint in a 64-bit and I prefer the terminal emulator to go into the basement of what I call the root and to do some modifications and my background is in Network Administration with Windows NT. Since that time I've been a diehard Linux user. I was also used UNIX where it was the only OS that if you threw a telephone book at the keyboard you'd come up with a valid command..
1. Gentoo. 2. Yes. 14 years 3. Editor vim, terminal st, language lisp and c 4. Developer 5. Puppet, ansible 6. Yes. I collect swords, straight razors, comics and guitars.
One of my favorite warm-up questions is "Describe your favorite situation, when you're totally fucked up?" Let's be honest, we all have at least one :)
