A couple things to mention is the possibility 2 finger raking won't work as well after using it on an Xplorer due to how much longer the strumbar takes to rebound when it can do more inputs in a single flick and it's also important to give it a day to see for sure how it worked. Good video though, hope this gets around more.
This method turned my 2/2 phantom strumming aerosmith wii lp into a 3/4 still with phantom strums. Update: I basically cleaned off the "excess" wd-40 and now its a 3/3 !
There's a particular wd-40 you should use. It specifically for electronics so it doesn't screw it up and cleans it and dry fast like how rubbing alcohol does.
What is a 4:3 or a 2:2? Does this mean each single strum you do is getting registered by the game as multiple strums which can be different depending on your rake direction? Just never heard these terms before, thanks!
If your guitar is a 4:3 it means that when you flick your strumbar up like i did on the video, it will register 4 strums and if you flick it down, it will register 3 strums.
@Jae M get any song with a fast strumming section, play it and when the strumming comes just flick the strumbar up or down and then see how many notes you hit with that flick
@@henriquem6722 I'm confused.. why would anybody want their strum bar to register more than once? If I'm understanding the terms correctly, shouldn't properly working guitar be 1/1?
This is my exact thought. too many games have fast parts put at entirely different rates. So what rate is this continuous barrage of 4 notes? It just seems too uncontrollable. I'll stick with my 1/1. @@chewdz95
What is does spraying WD-40 on the strum bar actually change? I don't get how this changes anything other than making the inside of your guitar an oily mess.
@@x7universe76 the switches in xplorers are clones of alps skcm white switches. Chyrosran22 has a great series of videos on how to take apart and clean them, as opposed to just drenching them with wd40.
Sorry this is late but i had this issue too. I opened up the guitar and found my down strum switch was pushed in too far, probably because the previous owner played too hard. If it is The same guitar as mine, it will have a metal button that you can lightly pull up so the strum bar hits it properly. Be careful you don't pull it too hard though or it may break. I used this videos wd40 method as well and the controller is super smooth now.
You are a fucking wizard, dude! Tape didn't even work 100%, but this did! How did you finf out about this? What does WD-40 do to prevent overstrumming?
that's kind of what this was designed to do. The guy who made the video didn't really describe how it works or why, there was a lot of assumed knowledge. It's best to keep a 1/1 guitar if you can, but I guess trying this method if your guitar is already overstrumming wouldn't hurt anything.

Dude, after a year and a half of playing this game, I finally have a 2/2 guitar. I genuinely cant thank you enough. I would kiss you if i could.💜
Jace Clay glad i could help!

@henriquem6722 hey man can u tell us why you would want your guitar to be anything but 1:1?
Just checking in a year later to say this worked for me. Thanks so much!!
No problem glad it helped!

I guess it makes the springs inside the switches looser so it effectively stops the overtrumming and brings out their true rake potential
Just straight up didn't work for me, my guitar still gives me an extra strum whenever it feels like it
@DJ CR4M sadly no, and my other explorer has some weird issue where the buttons don't work right so I'm out of luck for GH currently

@@cortinoias thank you for your comment! Really helped me
whats the best way to calculate your rake strum, like how many strums it produces?
I've got a 1/2 xplroer it doesn't over strum down but does up
Does anyone know how to fix the Guitar Hero five controller when it strumming loud on one side but not on the other?

This definitely helped, but it still isn't consistent because my guitar is just fucked lmao. Should I try it on my 1/1 x-plorer?
Tried this method and had no fix or difference in the strum bar
My guitar rakes and it’s annoying I don’t care about raking

used brake cleaner, worked great
gotta get the guitar hero guitar juiced up😤
thanks

4:3 rake?
better than wiitar lol
would this work to fix my strumbar where it gets stuck when hit up or down?
Yes
@@henriquem6722 thanks man! it worked like a charm the strumbar feels completely brand new

dude, *WAY* too much talking. this video could’ve been 1 minute or less.
