Might be water getting through where the magneto cover is, could be coming through where the exhaust connects to the head of the motor, or the mud is just to sticky in the water.

It’s the stator I did the same thing to my bike when I was little every time it would get to stator case it would shut off that’s when I gave up on it

Water's cold then the sleeve of the piston I shrink down makes it harder for the piston and rings to go up and down. And me and my buddy Josh was riding dirt bikes he decided to go into the creek and then the dirt bike when is dead! I have to say it was pretty sweet !

Check your stator cover, more than likely water getting in, get a tube of gasket maker and seal it. Also check your exhaust coming out of the head, maybe water getting in there as well.

I rode my ttr 110 through a creek and the whole thing was under water except the top of the handle bars and i popped out the other side and kept on goin. The airbox had a tiny amount of water but other than that she was mint

Put some dialectric grease on the spark plug and in the cap that’s what we do in our trucks to keep them dry I’ll bet that will work it lets it get spark through the grease and water can’t get in there

When you sink a machine do you just do a tune up oil,plugs,filter etc?? Never got a real answer when you fully sink a motor with water what actually is the damage besides liquid compression and corrosion I’m referring to a 2016 Polaris but could be any of these cycle motors

yeah I think that straight pipe miiiiight have caused the bike to keep dying because the valves are probably soooo out of whack... lol
Try lengthening the carb breather and zip tie it along the snorkel
In all honesty put a bigger sprocket on it and it might help with the rpms in the water
