Those 2 bits are for European specs so the blade brake activates and slows the blade rotation in less than 3 seconds IIRC. They also prevent installing dado blade sets which are not legal in the EU.

      Thanks Patrick. That makes sense.

Dado blades aren’t illegal in Europe. It’s an insurance is tho.

So I guess drilling two holes to the blade is too much work?

Hi, using the Diablo thin kerf, you should change to a thin riving knife correct?

Yeah the attempt to make the blade proprietary was a total deal breaker for me. That and the dust collection issues that I have seen on other videos of the saw.

The blade having the two extra cap screws is explained in other comments here and Harvey will even tell you that they can be removed. I literally got off a call with Harvey today to talk about their blades as I just got their table saw in October of this year. They specifically mentioned I can use any blade with this table saw. I have seen a few videos talk about dust collection on the Harvey and I have seen other videos from youtubers that like the dust collection on the Harvey. I have also seen many videos of other table saws and they all seem to have similar issues with dust collection using the blade guard type dust shrouds and even the swing out dust arms. I would not refuse to buy a table saw because of dust. Let's face it, the architecture of table saws are very similar, so there would be an expectation that dust issues would be common amongst many of the various saws.

Dealbreaker? Doesn’t sound like you researched them at all.
