    This being the first Rick Ross album i've heard front to back, I thought that this had to of been his best work ever. He gave you Production, he gave you Features, he gave you Variety, he gave you some lyrics as well, not that they were super great but they did make me reconsider my views on Rick Ross cuz until this album, I thought Rick Ross was just the leader of this great group, for nothing. But apparently he deserves to be where he's at.

    I feel ya, yea, at 1st I did not like Hold me Back, but listening to it more it became tight and its a motivational song also, but i have to say, i think this is Rozays best album so far, maybe i gotta listen to Teflon again, but i think this is his Best Album, i cant believe u dont like 911 and Touch N U, 911 go hard and Touch N U Smooth, and u might be right about ross verses tho, i feel ya on that, Presidential Bumps in the whip also, Pharrel did that Beat.

  • @gallyun1
    @gallyun1 12 років тому

    I understood the sound Ross was going for. He was trying to bring that "chilling by the beach, mafioso Miami vibe"...but the lyrics were not up to par with the production, the production out shined the lyrics.

    It'd be awesome if you guys tried (loosely) going track by track with a review. I know whenever I watch a review of an album, as stupid as it sounds, it feels good to have confirmation on some of my favorite tracks. It'll also add alot more depth to the discussion, though i realize it'll take longer.

    Great review, I listened to the album and I feel that Ross could've made the album shorter. There were certain tracks that didn't need to be on the album like 911 only because it sound like hold me back, Ice cold and Touch n you with usher. The rest of songs were solid to me like 3 kings, ashamed, and sixteen plus the production on the album is really good. I give this album a 7.5/10. If you're a fan of Ross music or need an album for the car I'd suggest you pick up this album.

  • @mykectown
    @mykectown 12 років тому

    Yes, I know that he sounds like the person on the track because the person probably wrote his track. The point is he can still change up his flow and cadence so he doesn't sound exactly like that person.

    with lupe fiasco dropping around my way, bitch bad, and now lamborghini angel)(extremely controversial), i would love to see a follow up discussion on lupes direction because i know you guys have had some harsh things to say about his new direction. are you guys anticipating F&L2? and do you think his recent single is genuine or is it just to spark buzz and to regain trust with his old fans? a response would be dope guys keep it up.

    I also feel the track's order should be more of a mix. I hate how current albums always give you that divided shit like smooth,boom and then the R&B shit. I feel even if he didn't add some songs from the mixtapes to here the album would have at least ran together better in my opinion if he would mix the order of the tracks more giving it a more "diverse" feel and not a order feel

    This episode further shows why I dig the show...it's more like a conversation than a critic style review...but yeah the first 8 tracks are my favorites...hold me back had to grow on me and I mean grow...wasn't like B.M.F where I liked it instantly and then the Usher joint is terrible I have yet to fully listen to that song...maybe if I'm drunk and in the club I'll hear it or if I'm with a lady and she in that mood...all in all pretty solid project

    Took the words right out of my mouth! I used to fuck with Ross heavy with those albums then he became something else when MMG was formed. He lost a fan out of me though. God Forgives was the last album I listened to from him and I didn't even buy it, my cousin gave it to me cuz he was right about the album being sub par and I never believed him until I listened to it. Rick Ross is no longer someone I'll be checking for.

    Personally, tracks 8 (Hold Me Back), 9 (911) and 10 (So Sophisticated; belonged on Dreamchasers 2 for real) needed to be 86'd off of the album. Even though the second portion of the album was majority R&B, it was consistent. I can't say the same about the first half. He could have taken tracks 11-17, thrown in "Sixteen" and "Amsterdam" and this would have been SOLID. Anyone else feel the same way? Also, nobody mentioned "Triple Beam Dreams" feat. Nas. I felt that track was a standout.

Once we get to a place with DEHH where we can afford someone to take over some of my duties, I'll make a lot more appearances. Until then, I'll just have to make my lil comments here and there from behind the camera, lol.

      How are you gonna say that "real hip-hop" is boring when Rick Ross is one of the most boring rappers in the mainstream right now. He has the same flow on almost every song, his lyrics are vapid and uninteresting, and once you've heard one verse from him, you've pretty much heard them all. I do agree that production is important, but lyrics are also very important.
