Thanks for clairfying that the Unifi controller does not need to be running for devices to work. This means I can upgrade to a Raspberry Pi4b without having to take my Wifi down!

Video request. Can you consider getting another Edgerouter and show us a possible VRRP configuration? Or, much cheaper if you have the old gear making a video showing the Edgerouter in a VRRP config with another brand of router. I've seen one video on that where a Juniper was used. I'm trying to understand VRRP and how it would work with multiple VLANs. I have 5 active VLANs and I am trying to see if I should route them all from the router VIPs or route only the ones needing FW rules. The rest would be routed via Inter-VLAN routing at the switch level, but that makes everything complicated for a home network. Thanks for your videos. Keep up the good work!

I've considered making a video on this before, but it's difficult to see a reason to implement in a typical home network. I've done quite a few VRRP configurations and I definitely have the spare Edgerouters lying around so I'll add it back to my list.
Personally, I like to have everything route at the "router" level, but split the active load (2 VLANs on Router A, 3 VLANs on Router B). The issue is that in a home network, there is typically only one way in or out so there will always be a single point of failure. Still awesome to mess around with though, just hard to justify beyond "because I can".

@@ToastyAnswers Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping you can create a video telling us reasons why and why not to do something like this for home. For myself, I work from home, have two different ISPs coming into my home for redundancy, have an L2+ switch that supports static routes and SFP+, and have 10GbE routed by that core single-point-of-failure switch to my 10GbE connected NAS. For VLANs that need firewall rules, like IOT and cameras, they route at 1GbE on the Edgerouters. Can't wait for your video and viewpoint.

Can you recommend the Unifi Hotspot feature for people who dont have a USG hence no separat VLAN for guests?

From a quick glance this looks like it would work. However, I have not tried this feature for myself.
