Aris's stellar reputation from reviewing PSUs on Tom's Hardware is the reason why I subscribe and watch this channel. As for the whole AMD debacle, watching HUB video, his conclusion is that the 7000 series CPUs also got the same uplift from Windows update, so it is not a real benefit to 9000 series, which means still no real reason to pay more for it. Honestly the most interesting CPUs they released recently, in my opinion is the 5700X3D and the 7600X3D. Makes me feel like the good ol'days of "An i5 is all you need for gaming"
Actually you having all this indepth analysis from PSUs is the main reason why I just trust you in regards of PSUs. I read your entire article about some and ultimately endef up getting the ax1600i from Corsair. Probably would have never thought of it if I didnt read all the amazing stuff you wrote about it. I dont regret my decision one bit. Please dont take people refusing to read as an insult. Btw I am also just 27 yo and I love reading your full reviews
and I would like to read about the Asus loki 1000w power supply unit, but alas, the author of the video does not have a review for it =_=
- asus loki 1200w was also not paid attention to
Hope you stick around. We really don't wanna see you leave what you are doing.
/agree 👍🏼
No worries I am here to stay :)
saw the decrease in performance aswell, so i'm not sure those other tech reviewers came to that conclusion of increased performance.
If you have a look at phoronix, they say wonderful things about Zen 5 performance. The new 9000 series is faster and more power efficient on most tests. The average performance increase is 18%, more than the 16% IPC uplift announced by AMD. So for certain workloads, the new series is actually a step forwards.
I think AMD has shifted its priorities to the data center sector, where it makes most of of the money. In addition to the Ryzen processors, this new Zen 5 architecture is also the basis for the next-gen EPYC CPUs. It seems this time AMD has prioritized the performance of EPYC CPUs and doesn't seem to care too much about the Ryzen line.
Good point about the priority shift. I've seen some reviews that support this.
I am one of those who still prefer articles over vids (depending on the subject, because everything has its usefulness). I believe there will be a rise again, because scripta manent. For the other subject, you said it all. RIP, Anandtech.
if im not mistaken. "scripta manent" has also the meaning that the script stays in place/doesnt travel unlike the speech. We are into brain rot age, its hard for me to see the rise youre mentioning.
@@Dex-of7ri I know that it means that the writes will stay as documents while the verbals will be lost unless will be written. On the other hand, vids are also a way of documents, but I just wanted to emphasize what I said. About the rise I mention, I believe that everything is a cycle in tech (and not only), so by the time it is sth useful, I think it will rise again. Just my two cents, tho. :-)
I have to admit that I don't read as many articles as I used to, back in the day: I'm old now, and my eyes are in poor shape, and UA-cam *is* very handy. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Nevertheless, robustly written articles are an invaluable resource that I always want within my reach, in case I ever need to go digging around in the 'technical minutia' for details that videos typically don't include. I'm going to miss Anandtech very much. 😔
@@MikeBob2023 We are all agreed that Anandtech 's farewell was sad.
The question (being ignored by most 'reviewers') was the Linux vs. Windows benchmarks of the Zen5 processor for production. We all know that microprocessor manufacturer marketing departments should be laid off completely (in fact, Intel did that :D), but the question was that whether the Zen5 was being geared towards Linux/Datacenter/Homelab use because of its lower power requirements, higher thermal headroom, and improvements in homelab specific tasks. And part of us really hoped that Linux was being specifically targeted.
Thus the 'hate' and 'fanboi'ism going on. It's not AMD fan-worship, but Linux fan-worship: A point that Gamer's Nexus, LTT, Hardware Unboxed, Hardware Canucks, etc. miss.
Great, thank you !!!
Newspapers and even websites are just not as easy to consume.. spot on :) well said. Life is busy and free time is short.
