Am I able to invest yearly in Government bonds ? For example 2022 invest R1k for 5 year period and invest another R1k in 2023? Etc. Thank you for this valuable information

If you choose the top -up bonds will the interist be paid monthly or not
The interest is re-invested on your behalf. You will get your money plus interest after 3 years

Hey Nosi thanks for the valuable information. I have a question, say I invest in the 5 year fixed rate bond. Upon my initial investment the interest rate was 11% but 2 months down the line it's now 10,3 %. Will I be affected by the decrease or will it only affect those who purchase the bonds during this period?
It will affect those who buy the bonds at the new rate

If I hold on to a bond for the whole term, will my Tax Refund [if any] be more as compared to if i had no investments, and or SARS will better my Tax Rebates.
There are no tax rebates for bond investments. Rebates are for pension funds and retirement annuities.
@@TalkingMoneyWithNozi If I may add 1 more Q': Since there's no Rebates for Gov' bonds, Does that also mean no rebates for other investments? [e.g: Equities, ETF, ETN, Unit Trust].

Yes. You cannot access your money before the investing period is over. And inflation could go up but you're stuck with the same interest rate that you chose for your bonds
Good day. Kindly advise how safe of an investment is the RSA retail bonds? If you look at the current state of government , the looting, the corruption, is our money actually in good hands? If government does default on their debt, will investors be guaranteed that their capital will be paid in full? In accordance with the latest findings of the auditor general, national treasury were one of the top ranking departments with the highest irregular expenditure for the last fiscal. In addition, if you look at the number of complaints the current investors have especially with contacting rsa retail bonds telephonically, its very alarming. Their sevice is appalling! Please share with us your trust index investing with national treasury, as the complaints on the hello peter website paints a very bleak picture especially for investors who want to invest over a million rand with them. Thank you
Am still struggling to decide between fixed rates and interest linked. Will you please advice which will be having good return of interests
I am not an advisor though. But personally I am using the top-up Bond because of the flexibility. My second choice would be the fixed rates because you know exactly what you will get.

Every adult must have a written will stating what should happen to your investments if you die. If you die without a will, the government decides and it will be a looong and painful process for your family

You register using your South African ID. And you use your South African tax number
