NCL, Thank you for not waiting for people who should be back onboard on time and delaying over 3000 passangers who were back on time.
⏰️Anyone who has ever cruised know rule #1 is get back to the port on time. If not even an hour earlier. Stop blaming NCL for breaking the rules and then screaming "stranded."
Entitled cruise ship🛳 passengers😊
Are we supposed to feel sorry for this passengers?
Meanwhile migrants get free checks in NYC
Don't take the shore excursions. The shore excursion did not get them back to the ship, even though the passengers told them what time they needed to return. New rule for cruise passengers: don't go on shore excursions, as they might last longer and be far more expensive than advertised.
So the ships stops at the port so people can take a tour and then when the tour fucks up the cruise punishes the customers.
Whether it's the ships fault or not they will be paying the price in the long run all because 1 captain had a hardon . Watch his license get suspended
Unfortunate but Cruise Lines shouldnt have to cater to 8 people instead of the other 2,500
They tell you when you are expected to be on board. It's not the ships fault.
this is like reporting someone missing their bus as news
Those passengers should be charged with " missing ships movement" and be thrown in the brig!
Nobodies fault but their own
It is your responsibility to return on time
Passengers left behind who failed to follow the express instructions everyone else followed... that's the headline.
They bash you over the head about being on time when you get on a cruise. This is entirely the passengers own doing. No sympathy.
This is why it is very important to book the excursions through the cruise line to be on the safe side.
So right you are!
No, ANY excursion can have issues. It happens, been there myself. Be on time. No excuses
THEY MISSED IT... BOATS, PLANES TRAINS... WAIT FOR NOBODY...
Why is this even news?
Because the ship was still docked and not in motion and the Captain refused to let them aboard. It would be different if they returned and the boat had already set sail.
Because, Africa.
People get left at port on almost every cruise. Cruise ships tell you to be back by a certaim time because docking is complicated & costly. They'd been on cruises knew the rules but didn't think the rules would apply to themselves.
Tough shit.
@@DrNurse2 Did you knew there is an intricate process for undocking? maybe you can see the ship next to the pier, but this doesn´t mean it´s docked.
Once the boat started undocking, it had already sailed.
Maybe be on time next time and you wont be left behing.
I mean, there's literally UA-cam channels dedicated to nothing but passengers running and trying to make the ship at departure time. 😂
Hey I missed my bus today can you put this on the news for me....!
I'm so sick of these entitled travelers milking this as if they didn't know what the rules were when booking the cruise, when booking the PRIVATE/non-NCL excursion, when getting ready to leave the ship, and when exiting the ship to go on the excursion. The passengers are completely at fault. All cruises tell you to be back on time or you'll have to find your way to the next port of call. There are costs and safety/legal concerns at play when cruise ships dock at various ports and when the debark for their next port of call. Guess they'll be on time the next time.
Sorry for them. But give yourself plenty of time to return to ship. Especially in the condition they were in
In 2018 I went for a cruise week and it’s really ain’t no joke! They are in a tight schedule and they will leave you behind and they do not care
There are maritime laws that these cruise ships have to follow, other ships pay for specific berthing times. If NCL fails to follow those rules then they could be penalised...Just be on time
Consequences can be a real bummer at times.
I’ve been on a cruise and it is well known you will be left if you don’t get back in time.
So they were the victims when they were late returning to the ship. If the captain waited and let them back on to delay the ship for thousands of other passengers and missed the schedule to the next port, would it be a hero?
Are the airlines also waiting for late passengers moving forward?
Maybe they should cruise on their private yacht?!
Gotta say, GMA did a better coverage of this than Today show which didn’t really seem to drive the point home that the onus was truly on these passengers booking a private tour guide that couldn’t honor their word in getting them back on time. If anyone they should be mad at, it’s that private tour operator AND themselves for booking such a risky tour. Cruises are only ever obligated to wait for late tours when booked through them. If you book through a private tour guide and they’re late, that’s on you.
They were an hour late. Forget the ship. Why should 3000+ people wait when they follow the rules.
#1 rule of cruising
Why is this a story? Why would an entire ship have to depart late for a few people who are not responsible enough to return to ship in time?
Trying to save money buy your cruise tickets plus excursion period!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Exactly
How about the schedule and "rights" of the close to 5,000 other people WHO WERE ON TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They weren’t stranded. They made the choice to take a private tour and as experienced cruisers, they knew ships don’t wait. The news media is twisting the story trying to generate sympathy for the entitled passengers that did not follow the rules. Eight passengers are not more important than the crew and other passengers already on the ship. Yes there is a lesson for everyone - Be Back On Time!
Shame on all the news network for giving them a platform to pass blame.
If you’re that handicapped don’t leave on excursions. Stay near the boat.
Not falling for that lame headline, DONT FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE LOSERS
If you want to do what 3,000 + people do get a private cruise!
I'll be darned if I ever have to face the consequences of my own actions!
Being on time for ships is one of the few things left that is absolute, does not cater to karens, and never changes.
No sympathy for those fools.
The passengers were cheap and didn't book a cruise line excursion which guarantee the ship will wait if it is late. What bird brain books a private excursion off the coast of Africa knowing they can be left behind? NCL was correct in leaving them behind just like if you were late for an airline flight.
Why is this all over the news? Is it the word Africa? People know what time to get back and people have been left before. Why are these people so special?
Don't get back to the boat on time. Get back early. It's not a taxi. It's not gonna wait for you while you get starbucks.
Will bet they went with non cruise tour to save money but hay those tours run on their time not Cruise time so the mistake is on you not the Cruise line.
If the passengers are in such rough shape ("paraplegic, heart condition, pregnant")....
why did they even get off the ship to start with??
My wife and I have been on 4 cruises and never missed an all-aboard call, because we heeded to the very well communicated warnings of what will happen if you miss your time. These folks are a little entitled in my opinion and maybe next time they'll take their daily schedule into their own hands. There are 2000-3000 passangers aboard the average cruise ship and the cruew works tirelessly to keep on schedule, they can't babysit all the passengers.
Once the gangway is reloaded and the engines started... that's done. Be on time and you're good. Late and this is what you get. You knew, I'm sure. Stop whining
😂😂simple answer....just be back on time😊😊 case closed😂😂
Cruising? The worst way to travel.
Stupidity ... worse yet.
So what?? Who cares because before you go … they freaking tell you !!!! I don’t care if you are in a wheelchair or somehow disabled. When you go on those overpriced slop buckets …. You are told when buying the ticket, when you arrive, several more times before you leave port. So …. Why is this even a story ??? Hey the world don’t revolve around you so grow up !!!
I never heard of
Sáo Tomê
I mean you are American right?
@@JesusRamirez-pf8lk
yes, I am a stupid American
You can always swim to catch your cruise ship
good point
Bet they wont ever miss anything again. Thier employers should thank this cruise ship. They will be foreve early to everything from now on.
What’s the saying from Apocalypse now?
If you want sympathy for this good luck.
Waaa
It's what happens when you wake up hungover in the afternoon from a drunken stupor the night before.
😂😂
🇻🇳🇻🇳❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸;!.
I understand it’s your responsibility to be back on time. But that being said if you were at the side of the freaking boat and they won’t let you on. that’s bullshit.
You are clueless to ALL the mechanics involved on gigantic ships, otherwise you would never write such nonsense...
@@brendasmart553 oh, I’m sorry I didn’t realize it was impossible to get on and off of the ship in case of some kind of emergency
@@brendasmart553 that being said, I am clueless I’ve never been around one
@@tucanoguy4719This wasn’t an emergency. This was eight people out of over three thousand people that were more than an hour late. There is a very lengthy process to ready a ship to receive passengers involving security, safety and customs protocols. This is in addition to the fines, fees and penalties the ship could have faced for not leaving harbor on time to make space for other ships. Next time, those people should not be late. Three thousand other people made it on time.
These idiots here are the worst type of people. These entititled @ssholes had been on numerous cruises over the years, which means they've literally seen dozens of people left by cruise ships. Hell, I've only been on 4 cruises & I've experienced them leave people twice. They tell you in no uncertain terms that you will not be allowed to board the ship- after the "on board" deadline & that they will absolutely leave without you. They are not going to stop the tedious process of un-docking and reimpliment the equally tedious process of docking just to accommodate your inconsiderate/unfortunate ass. The only tragedy here is that they found out they're not special.
This was malicious and the capt will catch hell for it. The tour ran late by no fsult of the passengers. The coast guard then tried to bring them to the ship, ship didnt have to do a damn thing that would alter its schedule, and the butthurt capt decided to still deny boarding. This isnt a case of lazy passenger being privileged and upity, like 99% of the people commenting. Thos is an unfortunate series of events that multiple groups of people tried to remedy only to have 1 small man grow a chip.
And if you cruise, you know to expect this. I’ve been on 30+ cruises, and people ALWAYS get left if they’re even 1 minute late.
If uninformed outrage counted as facts, you might actually have a good arguement 😂
The Capt is not going to deal with the liability issues of⁶ boarding elderly paassangers via Coast Guard, just so granny won't miss her shuffleboard game. Also, the 1st thing they tell you when you come aboard any cruise ship is that the ship cannot & will not wait for anyone and any of their problems. The ship will leave on time with or without you. You leave the ship, you take your chances. They don't discriminate. Grandmothers get left too.
Enjoy your ego trip.❤
This is very characteristic of the Norwegians. They tend to leave their customers behind. The Norwegian Airways (a budget airliner) is notorious for leaving passengers stranded. They are known for their arrogance and cruelty. It's a Norwegian culture. So, it's not surprising that this happened to the stranded cruise passengers. I would never spend money on or in Norway or anything that bears its name.
This is normal for all cruise lines. Be back by the precise minute they say, or you’re not going to be allowed to board. Even if the gangway is still in place.
Every cruise ship does this just like every airline does this.
Cut it out
Be back on time.don’t blame on the ship.
Good. Typical America. We go where we want and we will be back when we get back. " They won't leave without us"! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
