ABOUT ME:
Hi! I'm Sarah, mom of 3 daughters and wife to a busy chef! I have been a working mom from the start and have had jobs as an English teacher, nanny, daycare provider in our home, and now I focus solely on helping other busy moms create balance that sticks with my brand Work Life Glue. I am homeschooling and juggling creating a business while being a mom/wife/friend/daughter/sister/etc. It can be a lot, but I'm SO glad this is my life! I love to share how I fit everything in, how I keep our home organized and functioning well for my family, what I do to keep my girls learning and having fun, how I stay on top of all the things that come along with being a mom and homemaking, and so much more! I would love to have you as part of our Gluestick family, so please subscribe!

Really thorough review, which was exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks for the great review! You answered my question about adding audiobooks from your existing library. I have a ton of those already. I want to get a couple of these for my home daycare.
Just watched your Easter basket video and finally decided to get it! My oldest turns 5 this week so it’s guna be a gift from her grandparents 🥰 I’m so excited! Now I’m here learning more about it 🥰
thank you, for such a thorough review. so informative! much appreciated. we are considering this for our daughter
Thank you so much! Such a great review! I think I’m ready to buy now 😁 Will make sure to use your code!
Thank you! Just what I was looking for!
This is very intriguing. I will consider it for my oldest's upcoming 5th bday. Thanks for all the info!
Thanks for the great breakdown. Used your code to buy one and a handful of cards.
Super informative video! Thank you so much for putting time into this!
7:00 동물 소리?
Man this was awesome thank you
Thank you! I was very interested in this for my 2 year old twins and I run an in home child care through the state. This would be perfect!
how cool!! We really want to get two the reg and the mini!😍😍 screen free family here.
You are the best! This is an answered prayer for me! God bless you and your work to help moms!
Aw that means so much to meB. You are so welcome!
Thank you, just used your code with my purchase 😊
Wow! Thanks so much!
So thorough - thanks so much!
Of course - I’m all about the details!
Great video thank you so much
THANK YOU for this thorough review Sarah! We have a Tonie Box that we really enjoy but I think we will be adding a Yoto to our collection too. I really like the podcast and radio option. I also think it is fantastic that you can listen to your books through the app or on the mini when you are in the car or traveling.
We love it so much!!! I’m glad this video was helpful!
@@HomeschoolGlue do the songs and stories play on loop or change? and how do you pause and loop a song or story?
@@alyanahzoe They pick up where you left off if you use the same player. Otherwise, there are different tracks for different songs/chapters/stories. You can also pause.
@@HomeschoolGlue wow! cool! is there another way?
Thank you for sharing all of this information! Just purchased using your referral link. Excited for my 3 yo to experience the yoto player!
Thank you so much! I hope your 3 year old loves it as much as my girls do!!!
@@HomeschoolGlue is it possible to purchase the yoto cards in different languages?
@@alyanahzoe They offer cards in a couple different languages!
@@HomeschoolGlue then, i'll make cards in different languages that aren't available!
We got two tonnie boxes for Christmas, but I wanted these so bad. I think I will add these as well.
Thank you for all this info! I am planning on getting one of these for my granddaughters.
Oh good! I’m glad it was helpful!
@@HomeschoolGlue i wish i met the creators of yoto in person. i love them and will get them to subscribe to my youtube channel.
We got the toniebox for my daughter for her birthday. I knew she would love the figurines more than having cards. However, the Yoto player seems much more friendly for kids to change songs or chapters. The tonie box does seem more durable and you don't need a sleeve like the Yoto. We might do a Yoto for our son for his birthday and then they can have both (though sharing will be an issue I am sure lol) Thank you for the indepth look at the Yoto!!
They have different strengths for sure! The Yoto Mini is smaller and lighter so it’s not so scary to drop 🤣
You talked me into it. 😆 I got for my soon to be 4 year old.
Ha! It talked itself up for sure! I truly just am obsessed with this product, as are my kids!
Love this review, thank you! Can I add books from my Amazon Audible library?
Yes you can on the Make Your Own cards!
Thanks so much for all the info! Question for you- Does the yoto mini have the ok to wake clock functionality?
It doesn’t have a nightlight like the main Yoto, so I don’t think so - but you could use it by setting the daytime hour when the display with the time will then change from night time to day time (moon to sun)
👏 wow
Thanks for the info. I want to buy it for my 1 yo. We don't travel a lot so battery life is not a deal breaker. Is the big yoto player easier for a 1 yr old to handle esp with the bigger screen?
Thank you for the review. It was very informative. Question for you, if you have two yotos, how do you use your cards between both players?
You just stick a card in and it plays. We have three yotos now (two minis and one regular) and my girls just grab whatever card they want and stick it in. Maybe I’m misunderstanding your question
Have you ever used the Phonics Cards? I am curious on your opinion on them if you have. I listed to the previews but it's hard to get a real feel for it.
Hi! Thanks for the awesome review. One question though - are the sleep sounds, radios and podcast available in the yoto app for free or they need to be purchased? Thanks! 8:12
Free. I set up an account through the app, we don’t even have a Yoto player yet, and we use the sleep sounds on my phone every night
I love the idea but wish they had Christian songs/books/stories like I remember listening to as a kid
I thought the same thing! It does have plain cards to upload your choice of file on to though, which I’m considering doing.
You can definitely make your own cards if you would like!
I was bummed they didn’t have any Christian or Bible stories either. That has kept me from purchasing it so far. 😞
Hi! Thank you so much for this review. We are not English speakers (and living in a non English speaking country) - but I am hoping to expose my 3 years old to English, do you think the Yoto might be a good way to do that?
Thank you for the thorough introduction on yoto! I was googling for ways to introduce the yoto to toddlers and found your video. My main reason for getting the yoto is to reduce screen time. But i'm so concerned that it will turn into a white elephant - this always happens, i get way to excited about introducing sth new and my toddler just isnt impressed. So i was hoping you could share how you introduced the yoto for the first time to the kids. My little one is 17months old. Thanks in advanced! :)
My youngest daughter was 15 months when I first introduced and she really didn’t do anything with it at first. As far as my older daughters, they got it as an early Christmas present. I didn’t really do anything to introduce it. I gave it to them, explained how it worked, and that was about it.
@@HomeschoolGlue thanks for the reply :) im now telling myself to lower my expectations then maybe i'll be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
How do you get audible on to a MYO card?
Thank you very much! Only one question. Do you know if there is a spanish or dutch version? I saw a few spanish cards but they are not many.
I don’t know a whole lot. The best thing to do is browse their shop
Do you think you would have utilized/enjoyed this when you were doing daycare? I’m considering it but also have a younger crew, but think it would be fun and something we could grow into and as my own kids get older they could enjoy as well.
I definitely would have LOVED this with my daycare!!!
Thank you for this review!! I am thinking of getting this so my 20 month old can play music without using my phone. I know he’s abit young, but do you know where I can find recommendations of cards for the 2 year old age range? Thanks!
They have a wonderful Facebook group that has recommendations!
@@HomeschoolGlue oh that’s great! I was looking for mandarin cards but I don’t think there are. Would have to make my own I believe. Thanks for your reply!
My boys are 4 & 7 & I plan to order one for them for Christmas, would you recommend the mini or the regular?
If you intend to use it on the go in the car, I would recommend the mini. Otherwise I would go with the regular
Loved your review, thank you, really wanting to buy this now! Could you help answer one question?
The only information I cannot find anywhere is -
is it possible for a kid to rewind just a few seconds? So if they didn’t understand something or if there was a loud distraction and they couldn’t hear so they want to go back or after pulling out the card to pause but forget what happened right before? or can you only go back and forward through chapters?
Unfortunately right now you can only rewind through the app on your phone.
Found it! Thank you SO much! Are you in the yoto club? Considering that as a good gift to keep the cards coming.
I am! Even though I get a lot of free cards with my links people use, I don’t like to pay for shipping and I love the lower price for two cards a month! I think it’s definitely worth it!
So I am looking into this but am curious what the real difference or benefit is for this over a kindle? I am honestly not super familiar with a kindle either but wouldn't that play audio books and podcasts too?
Hmmm...they are totally different things. A kindle is a screen. This isn’t a screen / it just shows one pixelated image per song/chapter that isn’t animated/doesn’t move. There are no games, apps, etc. it’s solely an audio device. With kindle for kids, they have access to many different things. It would be hard to get audiobooks and podcasts on it in a way that’s independent but also make other things inaccessible.
I have a 5,3, and 1 year old. Do you recommend the mini or the regular size? What is the battery life on each?
I’m not sure on battery life - we’ve never had an issue - but if all 3 will be sharing I would go with the regular. We have a regular for communal use but each girl has a mini now for in their rooms and for traveling.
How do you add your audible books to the Yoto cards? I could not find any info on this and I know you can only play Audible books on their app.
I learned how in the Yoto Community Facebook group by searching “MYO cards”
How do you transfer an Audible audiobook to a Yoto card? Is there some kind of link between Audible and Yoto that you use?
I use the program Open Audible on my computer
Question: I really want the yoto but a ton of reviews say that you can’t travel with the yoto since it requires wifi is that old or does it still require wifi to use?
If you out the cards you want to listen to into the player before traveling while connected to wick, then they will download on to the player and you won’t need Wi-Fi for them when traveling.
Choosing between the mini and the standard size?? I feel like the buttons on the standard player would be easier for my 2.5 year old and it’s less likely to be misused as larger. But the mini is much cheaper and has more functionality in the long run due to portability (we wouldn’t use it out and about at the moment). Thoughts?
Hmmm...I actually think the buttons on the mini are easier for little fingers because they have something to grip on to
I am looking for a way to send stories and jokes told by me, Grandma. It sounds like if I connect with the Facebook group then I should be able to do this. My desire is to mail new Grandma stories to the grandchildren
Are all the audio cards British accents? Also, with the audio books, is it one reader for the whole book, or do they have different readers with different characters.
No not all are but many are. You can also make your own cards
Hi quick question can you use the same cards for the mini Yoto?
Yep! We have tons of cards and use them in all of our Yotos
I'm sorry if this has already been answered in your video or a comment and I missed it...just wanted to make sure I can use the yoto as a regular bluetooth speaker through my phone as well? Ie if I find a youtube video I want him to listen to, can I play the audio by choosing the yoto as a speaker from my phone? Or can I only send content through the app? I'd love to be able to pull up audiobooks from our library too that I don't own but have in my libby app and push the sound to his phone. Does it have this capability?
One other question: Are the night sounds free or do you buy those cards? And do they play all night or only for a certain time? Do you notice any difference between the speaker volume for the minis vs the original?
Thanks so much for your thorough review!
Great questions! Yes, you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker!
The night sounds are also free and in the app!
The mini is very loud like the regular speaker!
@@HomeschoolGlue wow!
What is the Facebook group that sells/trades yoto cards that you mentioned in the video?
it's the yoto official account.
(note: i reply to comments where someone doesn't reply.)
I have 2 soon to be 3 year olds and I've been thinking about getting this. After watching your video I want it even more. Question/issue is: do I buy 1 or 2? We often struggle with sharing. Get lots of practice, but I don't want this to become a source of stress and fights. Yet buying 2 almost seems excessive. Do I get 2 of the smaller ones? What's the difference between bigger and smaller?
I would personally get one and see how it goes. We bought one for Christmas and the Mini for our oldest’s birthday. We will likely buy a third for our second born’s birthday. The only main difference is the size and the way they charge. The standard size has a docking charger that you just set it on to charge. The mini has to be plugged in to charge. They can both do the same things but the Mini is definitely better for travel and little hands. And the image is smaller. It also doesn’t have a light on it like the large one that lights up when you place it screen/side down which can be a nightlight. We never use it that way so I forgot to even mention that feature!
I so wish there were two headphone jacks lol. I want to use this as a listening center in my classroom so badly
That would be so nice if they had that option!!!
I wonder if there are headphone splitters you could plug in and it would still go to two headphones . . .
@@HomeschoolGlue I will definitely look into it!! This seems incredibly easy for little ones to use (unlike a CD player, lol) and I’d love to upgrade my listening center to something so fun and simple!! Thanks for the info, it was very informative!
I may be wrong but I think the headphones that come with the Lunii (completely different product) have a double headphone Jack and you can buy the headphones separately from the lunii 👌🏻
I'm really debating one of these for my daughter but she's 8 in a few weeks. The Amazon description says up to 12 but I'm getting the impression that most of the content - especially girls stuff that isn't Marvel superheroes - is for a much younger age than that.
I don’t think so! My 8 year old LOVES her Yoto! There are tons of books for the 8+ age range in my opinion. You can also add audible books, library audio books sometimes, etc. to make your own cards as well
@@HomeschoolGlue 👍thank you!
are the cards robust, can they be chewed or washed
They are like credit cards. I’m not sure about washed because they do have technology inside that make them
Work but they are very sturdy and strong
Are the cards delicate? Do they rip?
Nope not at all - they are hard like a credit card. They don’t bend or anything.
Isn’t a google speaker the same thing essentially ? Just with wifi? You can ask google
To play any story and song. I’m trying to justify this.
No, not at all. It’s kid-friendly. A 1 year old can use this. We listen mainly to books on ours, not songs. It picks up where you left off with books. There’s no access to anything adult/mature. There are tons of settings you can control through the app such as brightness, what the buttons do, volume, etc. they can bring it on the go. I don’t think they are even comparable to a google speaker or Amazon echo. We have Echos for music in our family areas and they are nowhere near the same.
@@HomeschoolGlue thanks for the reply. It’s been 3 days I been researching and trying to see if I should get it for my daughter. I would have gotten this 5 years ago if I knew about it. But my daughter just turned 6. And she typically ask google speaker to play bedtime stories or songs.
Are the cards plastic?
Yes they are thick plastic like a driver’s license
I would love a code if you have one
Link in description
Your referral link doesn’t work -
Hmmm it’s working for me - it should have a code pop up when you get to the site
@@HomeschoolGlue if your cards get bent, it still plays. but if you fold it or run it through water, it doesn’t play.
