I had to actually retake the original video of me opening the canvas because I started crying. I am so sorry about your loss. I remember thinking after Larry died, if it hurts this much to lose a pet, I don't think I can have another. Luckily time heals that raw emotion, and we are able to love another pet, but we never forget the ones that have gone. I hope you are doing okay. Thanks for watching!

We used to have a female kitty named Marvin. We tamed her from feral to farmhouse kitty. She loved to help me clean house by going in back of heavy furniture and gathering cobwebs I would then brush off her. I sure have fond memories of her.
Marvin and Larry would have bonded over their masculine names. My son was 4 years old when he named her Larry. We were surprised to find out Larry should have been Hillary. Those sweet critters will steal your heart! The memories warm the soul!

Oh went to Williamsburg the first time as a kid & even looked at William & Mary as college. Always wanted to experience the holidays there. Love the idea of the Pinapple fruit fans above the doors 🍍

Such a Wonderful memory...
My daughter rescued a kitten when she was about 11. Smokey looks just like Larry. She is elderly now... Smokey looks like a petite little teddy bear... hence the name. Shortly after we brought Smokey home, I was at the pet store and decided to get her name tag. When I went to pick up my daughter from school, I surprised her with Smokey's tag. She started to cry, more from the challenges of the day, as girls do at this age when things are ever challenging, and said this isn't how I wanted it spelled... I wanted it spelled Smockey. So, I chuckled and said, "Well, Smockey it is!" She realized the little blunder, We both laughed and that has been Smocks name for 15 yrs.

I LOVE THIS. The story of your cat, the name tag and your daughter's heartfelt tears that probably had nothing to do with the spelling of "Smockey". My daughter had many of those episodes and I just let her vent even if it was over the hot chocolate being too hot and too chocolatey (true story). The sweet thing is that years later (she's 30 now) she thanked me for not running away during her adolescent years!

WE had a MISS MUFFET like your Larry. She always greeted us when we drove up. She loved to fetch her mouse, she would race across the wood floor, flatten her self out and slide under the dresser, and come back out proudly with her mouse in her mouth. My favorite is when i was sitting on the sofa, and she brought me her string to play with her, I told her I wasn't feeling very good, but if she took her string to Nick, he would play with her. She looked at me, looked at Nick and picked up her string and promptly took it over to Nick. Calicos are soooo smart.

Hi Mary, What a beautiful book! However, it was hearing you talk about Larry and the beautiful tribute you had made for her that got my attention. I too lost my cat Sebastian 14 years ago and I talk about him all the time! When I would lay on the living room floor with the Sunday paper opened in front of me Sebastian would come and lay across the entire paper so I could not turn the pages!! He was the greatest and most comforting cat....and when people say they do not like cats it's usually because they have never owned one. Hi Linda- thank you for sharing your memories of Sebastian. We are fortunate to have had our hearts touched by a furry friend. As a teenager I had a dear cat named Dufus, and as I would do my homework he would lay across my notebook as I tried to read or write. He disliked homework as much as I did, and I appreciated that. Your Larry is almost identical to my precious Prissy who passed away a number of years ago. There's nothing like a torty!! They have attitude to spare. The worst trait they have shows when you have to medicate. 😳 Just found your channel & I've enjoy the two books I've watched you review.
